Pioneering partnership will standardise sustainability reporting across global value chains and tackle Scope 3 emissions

LONDON, UK 鈥 7 September 2023 – (NYSE: 麻豆原创) and today announce a visionary new partnership to show how carbon accounting could be standardised for business customers by piloting the recently launched 麻豆原创 Sustainability Data Exchange (SDX).

麻豆原创 SDX enables BT to collect, trace and share carbon data across its own supplier base, providing unparalleled visibility into the carbon footprint of its business products and services. BT can then share this information directly with business customers when they purchase products through . Furthermore, BT can complement this with data-driven insights from its and to help customers optimise their own IT for both carbon and energy.

Key to the decision to select 麻豆原创 SDX was its adherence to the carbon data interoperability standards set by the (PACT), hosted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). This means that global and UK business customers do not have to implement their own carbon accounting platforms to calculate, collate and share emissions data. Instead, they simply request it through 麻豆原创 SDX for their BT products and services.

BT is sending a strong signal of intent to standardise sustainability reporting across global business customers鈥 value chains to help them听tackle and drive environmental progress. This will also contribute to the delivery of the pledge to help customers avoid 60 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030.

Sarwar Khan, Global Head of Digital Sustainability, Business, BT, said: 鈥淭ypically, value chain emissions represent a greater proportion of a business鈥 carbon footprint than operational emissions. Tracking, measuring and acting on these and bringing more suppliers and partners on the journey will not just accelerate net-zero targets, but set a new precedent for sustainability reporting. Collaboration fuels progress and access to data is fundamental to getting it right.鈥

鈥淭he lack of standardisation in sustainability reporting has been a roadblock to progress for too long鈥 commented Ryan Poggi, Managing Director of 麻豆原创 UKI. 鈥淭his creates confusion and an inability to validate real change. Our partnership with BT gives us an opportunity to refresh the guidelines and offers a blueprint for a universal standard in sustainability reporting. The aim is to create an environment for organisations to transparently tackle global challenges together.鈥

麻豆原创 SDX merges granular and accurate carbon data with financial transactions on the . It provides businesses with unmatched insights into their environmental footprint and standardises how to communicate learnings and action across value chains. In adopting 麻豆原创 SDX, BT can request product-level carbon data from key suppliers for its business customer services, support smaller partners to calculate their carbon footprint and securely share and standardise this information across its value chain. To build scale, BT is working with key partner Cisco to deploy SDX to receive product carbon data for core network devices, simplify and secure data exchange with business customers backed by its global connectivity services, and boost traceability.

London, UK 鈥 March 24, 2023 鈥听 today announces the winners of its , which celebrate the achievements of future-minded companies and individuals that have harnessed the power of the latest 麻豆原创 cloud technologies to create positive economic, environmental, and social impact.

Hosted in London’s Science Museum on March 23rd, the 2023 awards recognised the following organisations who are at the forefront of driving innovation, transformation, and environmental impact in today’s disruptive economy:

Adoption Champion – Royal Mail Group

Royal Mail Group needed a way to engage with its 140,000 frontline employees in a quick and cost effective manner, without risking any of its existing processes. The solution lay in the creation of the PeopleApp, an application that employees could have on their own devices with direct access to their personal information and business services.

Over 110,000 employees (82% of the RMG workforce) have downloaded and utilised the app on their own devices, with 500,000 weekly uses of the app. This has created a new channel of engagement with employees and allows them to become ‘connected’ for the first time, whilst also enabling more efficient delivery of services. By utilising the speed and flexibility of 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform, the PeopleApp has transformed Royal Mail’s employee experience and become the ‘channel of choice’ for employee engagement.

Business Innovator – Yorkshire Water Services

By transitioning its IT landscape to 麻豆原创 S/4HANA, Yorkshire Water Services centralised how it managed its work. With additional data insights after implementing 麻豆原创 Plant Maintenance & Asset Management and 麻豆原创 Dynamic Forms on 麻豆原创 BTP, the organisation’s field technicians could access vital information in real-time and provide feedback on hand-held devices.

By choosing 麻豆原创 technology, Yorkshire Water Services has experienced greater efficiency in its services and reduced interruptions, as well as improved customer service. Modernising with 麻豆原创 solutions has lowered its TCO and simplifies the rollout of new innovations, so the organisation can deliver safe water services to its growing customer base.

    Cutting-Edge Genius – Sanctuary Group

Sanctuary Group was struggling to access and manage its data, and without a real-time holistic view of its properties, it was not able to be proactive in the face of maintenance processes and delays which impacted customers. With the help of 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform and innovation from other 麻豆原创 solutions, Sanctuary Group is working towards a 360 degree view of its customers and asset management. The organisation has utilised 麻豆原创 Field Service Management to provide customers with real time feedback, with faster and higher quality incident resolution now achievable.

    Experience Wizard – Savannah Energy

Going Digital saved Savannah Energy from business operational challenges such as managing disjointed systems within multiple business areas, and without centralised data, it was unable to make swift decisions. By utilising multiple 麻豆原创 products within seven months, Savannah Energy was able to rectify its issues swiftly. Now with 麻豆原创 Analytics Cloud, data is visible from across the company, allowing management to make the most informed decisions. Recruiting has been improved by 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors, with hiring-managers adopting a new end-to-end view. Overall, Savannah Energy has been able to automate 48 business processes and 70% of Health and Safety incident management.

    Industry Leader – Barclays

Barclays was already innovating how its corporate buyers paid their suppliers, using an integration of Barclays credit backed bank transfer payments and the 麻豆原创 Ariba Network. But when customers struggled with non-compliant payments, Barclays and 麻豆原创 had to come up with a new solution. The Precisionpay virtual card solution can be embedded via pre-built integrations into its clients鈥 systems, offering the simplicity of a card with robust pre-approval and simple automated reconciliation.

Businesses using 麻豆原创 Ariba Network, 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Public Cloud and 麻豆原创 Business One can enjoy better control over ad-hoc purchasing, customers can develop bottom-line profit and better working capital, while also ensuring on-time payments to smaller suppliers. Customers have greater agility through this payment technology, and automating these payments through a card solution can save an organisation valuable time and resources.

    Services Supernova – Accenture

For many companies, including Accenture, the pre-close variance review process has changed little until now. It has always been a decentralised, inconsistent, manual, and inefficient process, which relied heavily on time consuming emails and spreadsheets and made even more difficult by a continuously increasing volume of data and involved geographies.

Accenture has transformed this process into one centralised, digital AI Commentary Platform using the power of Natural Language Generation that provides thousands of data driven explanations to financial variances across 93 Countries. Over 57,000 Controller hours were saved in the first 12 months with 737 Company codes and reports streamlined for internal controls sign-off.

Sustainability Hero – Save The Children International

Save The Children was running its procurement through Excel and paper at a costly $400 million/year, and was struggling to keep track of suppliers and orders, putting the organisation at a high audit risk. Within twenty months, it had managed to deploy 麻豆原创 Ariba to 600 procurement staff in over 50 countries, to transform its relationship with 25,000 suppliers.

Within the first year, 麻豆原创 Ariba had driven Save The Children to multiple improvements and amazing results. The organisation went from 20% visibility to 100%, and beat a target of 52% of user adoption for spending to reach 82% by the end of 2022. Its audit risk substantially decreased and supplier digital literacy dramatically increased.

    Transformation Titan – NTT Limited

Struggling with its financial central overview, NTT Limited was spread across 39 麻豆原创 and non-麻豆原创 ERPs, leading to inconsistent processes and a lack of detailed analysis that caused significant delays. Its financial transformation, which has led NTT to become our Transformation Titan, was the implementation of a global 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Central Finance platform on Microsoft Azure. This transformation integrated over 300 million line items in just one year. NTT now has an accurate global view of all financial reporting without any manual reconciliation required. This was achieved for all 266 of its legal entities in multiple locations.

Ryan Poggi, Managing Director, 麻豆原创 UK & Ireland, said: “Collaboration in times of hardship is the cornerstone of innovation. As the world grapples with unprecedented challenges, it makes me immensely proud that our customers in the UKI are at the forefront of driving innovation, transformation, and environmental impact on a global scale.

“At 麻豆原创 we live our purpose through our customers and partners. These stories inspire and motivate us to deliver on our promise and drive trusted partnerships. Congratulations to all our winners and finalists, and a big thank you to our judges for their continued support.”

    • To provide a physical teaching space for modules with digital (or 麻豆原创) content
    • To support partners, customers and the local economy

Following the successful rollout of 麻豆原创 ERP Sim and 麻豆原创 Business ByDesign modules to 1000 students at the University of Nottingham in September 2021, the Next Gen Lab builds on that by providing better education in the tools of the future.

The 麻豆原创 initiative, comprised of recent graduates and experienced professionals trained and certified to support the IT needs of partners in EMEA North, saw its first cohorts graduate on October 18.

WALLDORF, Germany October 19, 2022 (NYSE: 麻豆原创) today announced that the first two cohorts of its Partner Talent Initiative graduated on October 18. A Big Start and a Full Slate
Launched in June 2022, the 麻豆原创 Partner Talent Initiative initially received 1500 applications. The first two cohorts will graduate 40 consultants. An additional schedule of cohorts is running now, and others are planned for the remainder of 2022 and into Q1/Q2 of 2023.

We are excited to announce that Decathlon UK & Ireland have successfully deployed 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors, 麻豆原创 EC Payroll, and Kronos Workforce Dimensions to embark on their digital transformation journey with their chosen expert 麻豆原创 and Kronos Partner UK.

Decathlon are one of the world鈥檚 largest sporting goods retailers employing 200,000 employees across 2,080 stores in 56 countries across the globe.

With a clear strategy for growth and expansion across the UK and Ireland, Decathlon took a holistic view of their entire people strategy to ensure they were delivering an experience and proposition that attracted and retained the best talent. Experiencing some real challenges with colleague turnover, largely due to the absence of capability and technology, driving colleague retention was an area of real focus. During this review, some challenges with the execution of processes, accuracy of data, and lack of automation in certain areas also become apparent.

Despite the backdrop of the pandemic and all of their stores having to close, Decathlon were able to leverage their online presence and this ensured they were able to proceed with this future investment in their people and the provision of a world class experience for customers. Decathlon UK and Ireland chose 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors as their technology solution because in their words 鈥淚t was a one stop shop for all HR and the Business – one tool for all requirements鈥, with Kronos Workforce Dimensions to manage important time management processes, integrated to EC Payroll.

Instrumental in the success of the programme was the relationship between Decathlon UK and Ireland and Gavdi UK as their dedicated 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors and Kronos partner. At the heart of the partnership was an aligned set of values and ethos between both organisations. The deployment strategy was based on utilising existing best practices developed by Gavdi from all of their experiences and deployments, a good starting point to build a solid foundation. for SuccessFactors were the perfect solution to create and deliver a powerful human experience management solution that permitted them to use 鈥榖est practices鈥 and get up and running quickly.

The programme was delivered in a very short timeframe to drive progress and to help the business to achieve the goals agreed in the investment case. All goals set for Year 1 have been achieved with reductions in overall costs, increased data accuracy relating to payroll, and a significant reduction in the turnover of colleagues. This has been achieved through enhanced recruitment and onboarding processes, with an improved overall experience through the ability to execute tasks in a far more agile way. Where previously 35% of their time was spent on administration and manual processes, the level of accessibility and automation has also played a fundamental role in giving time back to store managers to meet with customers and engage with colleagues.

Billion-pound challenge raises the bar for businesses to procure with purpose.

is proud to be one of 30 major UK businesses who have spent a landmark 拢250 million procuring services and products from social enterprises and helped create 2,700 jobs in an ongoing programme from Social Enterprise UK, new figures reveal.

The Buy Social Corporate Challenge (BSCC) sixth annual report shows that the blueprint of corporates purchasing from social enterprises has resulted not only in millions of pounds going to support businesses tackling social and environmental issues, but has also created an estimated 2,700 jobs in those social enterprises in the lifespan of the project to date.

The Challenge sees Social Enterprise UK work with 30 large businesses, ranging from pharmaceuticals to finance, to identify and match social enterprise suppliers across products and services from food and drink to consultancy. Launched in 2016 with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Challenge has a ten-year target of 拢1bn of spend and is on track to reach this goal, with more than 拢91 million achieved in the last year, and a total of more than 拢250 million, or quarter of a billion, over the last 6 years.

The corporate partners on the programme are Amey, AstraZeneca, Barclays, CBRE, Co-op, Compass/Foodbuy, Deloitte, EQUANS, GSK, John Sisk & Son Ltd, Johnson & Johnson, KPMG, Landmarc Support Services, Lendlease, Linklaters, LV=, Mitie, Motorola Solutions, Nationwide, Nestle, NFU Mutual, PwC, Robertson Group, , Siemens, Sodexo, The Crown Estate, Wates Group, Willmott Dixon and Zurich.

To be a social enterprise, businesses are governed and constituted to achieve social or environmental impact. As businesses, social enterprises seek to deliver profits, but at least 50% of their profits are reinvested into their mission. Social Enterprise UK estimates that by trading with Buy Social Corporate Challenge partners social enterprise suppliers have been able to reinvest approximately 拢26.5 million into the social or environmental missions.

52% of social enterprises trading with Buy Social Corporate Challenge have been able to recruit more staff as a result, according to a survey from Social Enterprise UK. Social enterprise models mean that these jobs often go to individuals facing additional barriers to the labour market, such as people with disabilities, people who have been in prison or people who have experienced homelessness.

Pranav Chopra, founder NEMI Teas, a social enterprise supporting refugees, said:

We are currently working with seven partners on the Challenge and are in consultation with two more. Hopefully we鈥檒l be in a third of their partners鈥 supply chains shortly! It鈥檚 because of the Challenge that I鈥檝e been able to directly reach out to other corporates. The Buy Social Corporate Challenge has been remarkable for businesses which have a social enterprise model and the capacity to deliver.鈥

The report argues that not only does buying from social enterprises make a positive social impact, but that it doesn鈥檛 have to cost more: 90% of corporate partners in the challenge reported that social enterprises were cost neutral or even cheaper when compared with other suppliers, while 95% said that social enterprises delivered comparable or higher quality.

Peter Holbrook, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK, said:

鈥淔ollowing higher scrutiny by investors, stakeholders, staff and consumers, mainstream UK businesses are increasingly considering their social and environmental impact when they set strategy and make decisions.

鈥淪EUK welcomes this shift and we believe social enterprise has an important role to play in supporting the wider business community to embrace social value and consider the social and environmental impact of their work.

鈥淭here is a group of businesses that are leading the way in leveraging their procurement in service of their purpose. The Buy Social Corporate Challenge (BSCC) partners are demonstrating effectively how their purchasing decisions can help them play their part in achieving a fairer and more sustainable economy.

鈥淲hat this sixth annual BSCC report reveals is that the Challenge is on track to deliver its ambitious 拢1 billion target, thanks to the commitment and vision of our corporate partners and the ability of social enterprises to deliver high-quality products and services.鈥

The report highlights potential areas for growth in social enterprises looking to supply the corporate market, including couriers, furniture and employee learning and development. Social Enterprise UK is inviting social entrepreneurs particularly from these categories to get in touch at business@socialenterprise.org.uk.

The Buy Social Corporate Challenge has now closed to new corporate partners, but Social Enterprise UK will be launching more support for large organisations to increase social value purchasing. Businesses can register their interest at .
