It is common for customers shopping online to buy two sizes of the same model so they can try them on at home and return the pair that doesn鈥檛 fit.

The size of the problem is considerable, with half of all shoes bought online being returned. The primary reason for these returns is a poor fit or wrong size — a staggering 75%!

There is a significant cost to these returns. In Europe alone, and — an average of 32 minutes per return — per year. And this doesn鈥檛 account for the amount of waste that is generated, including the additional packaging involved and items that are returned but cannot be resold.

On the customer side, some people only discover a pair of shoes doesn鈥檛 fit well when they wear them out for the first time, after which they are unable to return them. What happens to these shoes? Some will be listed on peer-to-peer secondhand sites but others will sadly go to landfill, where 22 billion pairs end up each year.

The global online footwear market is thriving, with a market size valued at from 2022 to 2028. According to a study by Quantis, the footwear industry currently responsible for 1.4% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) . Additionally, 77% of people believing the shoe industry should do more to reduce its level of waste. The market is crying out for an innovative approach to scale down waste.

How Does It Work?

Once you have found your new kicks online, at the point of selecting your size, you click to access the new sizing tool, where you will be guided through a process in a few short steps using your smartphone. The tool is free for customers and completely seamless with no app to download. Through partnerships with shoe manufacturers, the tool knows the inner dimensions of each shoe on the website precisely. A sophisticated algorithm compares the scan you take of your feet with the exact dimensions of the shoe. Combining this data, the algorithm then provides you with a recommendation for the best fitting size in a matter of seconds.

The whole process takes between two and three minutes, which, compared to the average 32 minutes spent returning a pair of shoes, is a considerable time saving for the customer too. The user experience is state-of-the-art and in addition, customers can save their data so they only need to scan once.

Footprint Technologies began by launching the tool for children鈥檚 shoes, where it deemed the need was greatest since their feet are growing and evolving all the time. This allowed the startup to prove the efficacy of the tool with a 90% accuracy rate and work on the remaining 10% by considering other geometric measurements.

The adult module went live with German eco-brand Tanner鈥檚 in early November and is set to go online with multiple footwear brands in 2023.

Removing Barriers

麻豆原创 is working to make it easier for all software companies to work closely with 麻豆原创. To achieve this, we have created a scalable benefit model and allow partners to choose where they fall on this scale 鈥 while keeping revenue share (between 麻豆原创 and providers) consistent across the scale. In addition, we eliminated store-specific transaction fees for partners participating on , down from 15%.

麻豆原创 is also offering reduced subscription fees for dedicated test and demonstration tenants for the 麻豆原创 Digital Supply Chain portfolio and the 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll solution. These test and demo offerings extend to 麻豆原创 Integration Suite and 麻豆原创 Extension Suite powering . A free tier model for the suites was announced at the 麻豆原创 TechEd event in December 2020. This model is planned to become available later in 2021. In addition, a consumption-based model will become available later in 2021. This new pay-as-you-go option, which calls for partners to pay for only the services they use, provides flexible access to development, test and demonstration licensing services for 麻豆原创 Integration Suite and 麻豆原创 Extension Suite. The consumption-based model requires no up-front payment and calls for a contract runtime of only three months.

As an online companion for partners, provides data for actionable insights, guidance and support for comprehensive customer engagement. It also helps increase productivity. New functionalities, such as dynamic cards for sales professionals and automated reporting elements, are now available to all partners having a contract with the 麻豆原创 PartnerEdge program. Additional insight views will be available throughout 2021. These include business planning, program and membership information, cloud product adoption, consultant certification and customer projects.

This is the first time we鈥檝e created an environment exclusively for partners that houses all 麻豆原创 product learning content, training systems, certification opportunities, and partner-specific enablement content in an affordable, single-priced package.

Could you expand on what this means for partners?

Karl Fahrbach: The new edition is built based on partner feedback and a key initiative within our Next-Generation Partnering efforts. Jobs and Revenue Growth Await Strategically Positioned Tech Partners /2020/11/cloud-adoption-partner-opportunity-growth/ Thu, 19 Nov 2020 15:15:45 +0000 /?p=180711 More jobs, more revenue. If you are in the business of technology consulting, software development, or solutions integration, you must like the sound of that forecast 鈥 especially now when businesses everywhere worry about their future.

Based on what they have experienced of late, strategically positioned tech companies are optimistic. Consider a forthcoming study from a leading U.S. trade association, which finds that one in four partners enjoyed an unexpected sales boost after the global pandemic set in.

Another study released in mid-October 2020 by IDC should give 麻豆原创 partners a reason for confidence. The study, 鈥Partner Opportunity in a Changing World,鈥 anticipates that the 麻豆原创 partner ecosystem will grow into a $260 billion market by 2024, up from $141 billion today. Employment within the ecosystem during this time is expected to increase by 600,000 to 1.6 million professionals.

Several factors are driving the growth in high tech. This includes the global pandemic itself, which fueled a summer-long jump in the sales of PCs, monitors, and enterprise software to displaced workers and their employers, who rushed to set up home offices after the pandemic hit. In August 2020, HP Inc. CEO Enrique Lores told CNBC, 鈥淲e have听.鈥

Then there is digital transformation. Rather than slow momentum, COVID-19 triggered an acceleration in digital transformation projects according to several studies. In May 2020, for example, business consultant BDO published a report that concluded 鈥渋t鈥檚听鈥 for many organizations.

鈥淲ith rare exception, operating digitally is the only way to stay in business through mandated shutdowns and restricted activity,鈥 BDO said.

Similarly, a study published in May 2020 by Wind River found that COVID-19 is influencing the specific technologies within end customer organizations that are attracting increased interest. Not surprisingly, they are 5G, containers, and cloud innovations.

This brings us back to 麻豆原创.

鈥淎s the pandemic continues to impact the global economy, I see business opportunities,鈥 said 麻豆原创 Chief Partner Officer Karl Fahrbach. Speaking during a 鈥淲hat鈥檚 Next鈥 business insights seminar for 麻豆原创 partners in mid-October, Fahrbach said there would be plenty of new business for the 22,000 members of the 麻豆原创 ecosystem.

IDC鈥檚 study, which was sponsored by 麻豆原创, backs up Fahrbach鈥檚 belief.

Of the 600,000 new jobs forecasted to be created within the 麻豆原创 ecosystem, 280,000 are expected to be high-wage consultant positions. Between now and 2024, digital transformation projects are expected to create as many as 1 billion billable hours for these and other 麻豆原创 experts.

Growing interest in cloud technology, of course, will drive much of the new business. Of the more than $300 billion in net-new revenue expected to be generated through 2024 within the 麻豆原创 ecosystem, 68% is expected to be driven by cloud investments.

These investments are helping customers of all size and ilk embrace digital innovation that only the largest of organizations had the manpower and money to buy a mere few years ago. This broadening of the market for 麻豆原创 technology is made possible by the members of the 麻豆原创 ecosystem, which are collectively expected to generate $5 in 麻豆原创-related revenue for every $1 that 麻豆原创 itself creates. This is roughly on par with other elite tech giants.

As the number and scope of 麻豆原创 opportunities increases, so do the capabilities of 麻豆原创 partners. Today, 60% or more of an 麻豆原创 partner鈥檚 revenue comes from services that it creates on top of the 麻豆原创 platform. In many instances, these services amount to partner-generated intellectual property, according to Steve White, program vice president of Channels and Alliances at IDC. Effectively, 麻豆原创鈥檚 best partners are creating a complete, finished solution for customers.

Partners are also helping customers manage their way through what IDC calls 鈥渢he five stages to enterprise recovery.鈥 These start with the pandemic, economic slowdown, and feared recession, and finish with a return to growth and the next 鈥渘ormal.鈥 During these stages, organizations often take specific measures to cushion the blow from COVID-19. These include drafting plans for business continuity, cost optimization, business resiliency, targeted investments, and future enterprise initiatives.

麻豆原创 has programs and strategies designed to help partners assist customers through these uncertain times. Several were showcased during the October webinar, including LACE, which is short for the land, adopt, consume, and expand framework.

Flying home to Israel in early March from a meeting in Arizona, Gal Rimon, founder and CEO of Centrical, saw adversity approaching in the form of a virus traveling around the globe faster than his jet.

鈥淭he world is going to change,鈥 Rimon thought. Within 10 days, working day and night, his team had responded by developing a workplace solution, . Its Centrical PULSE Core solution was already available on

What struck Rimon was that the looming pandemic would force companies worldwide to isolate employees. That, he predicted, would cause a seismic disruption as people began to work without support from peers in their familiar office environment. Employees would likely feel anxious and distracted. Productivity could quickly dissipate.

At the same time, the business environment would become yet more volatile, affecting workloads, roles, and job requirements. Employees as well as managers would have to adapt quickly, learning how to function remotely on their mobile devices, stay focused and self-directed, and absorb unfamiliar skills.

Web of Connection for People Suddenly Isolated

Centrical Connect weaves a web around the employee working at home, helping each individual stay engaged and connected 鈥 even walking them through daily activities and reminders to take breaks.

Through integration with 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors solutions, the app gives managers visibility into individual performance to identify who might need a helping hand. Bi-directional communication helps keep everyone in sync with personalized updates and enables participation in pulse surveys to express concerns.

Features for recognition and peer acknowledgement are built-in 鈥 an important functionality both for keeping employees motivated and alerting managers to potential for talent development.

Reimagined Business Model Amid Global Crisis

But how does the business benefit? Rimon pointed to one customer that transformed its retail model this past spring as everything radically shifted, implementing curbside pickup almost overnight. Employees adapted with astonishing speed as they grasped how to operate in this new mode while staying safe. The company surged ahead of the competition.
