In such scenarios, partners utilize support services from 麻豆原创 on behalf of the joint customer. Typical scenarios include, for instance, requesting support for a technical issue by creating a support case with 麻豆原创 or leveraging 麻豆原创 Cloud ALM in an implementation project.

As partners regularly request support, 麻豆原创 closely collaborates with its partner ecosystem along all dimensions of support and equips partners with the tools, insights, and self-services they need to deliver consistent, high鈥憊alue services alongside 麻豆原创. This includes:

  • Best practices for partners to self-sufficiently handle common consulting and 鈥渉ow-to鈥 questions from customers
  • Data insights and dashboards, such as the customer insights dashboards and Support Collaboration Analytics (for partners) in 麻豆原创 for Me, to help monitor performance, identify trends, and proactively realize quality improvements
  • Best practice guidance embedded in 麻豆原创 Cloud ALM with the opportunity for partners to enhance process content and methodologies represented in the solution
  • Support Accreditation training that can guide partners to efficiently engage 麻豆原创 for support
  • Enabling transparency on partner action on customer鈥檚 behalf through dedicated partner S-users

Partner selection based on trusted support expertise

Customers can now receive higher value from partners with trusted support expertise. Partners that have built strong capabilities for an effective support collaboration can accelerate project execution and reduce risks. For example:

  • Partners that self-sufficiently address customers鈥 consulting and 鈥渉ow-to鈥 questions can resolve inquiries much faster, as it avoids involving 麻豆原创 in the process.
  • Partners that use 麻豆原创 self-services or automatic responses to support inquiries as the default without creating redundant cases can minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Partners that effectively follow 麻豆原创鈥檚 best practices, for example in 麻豆原创 Cloud ALM and the 麻豆原创 Activate methodology, can be better equipped to help mitigate project risks and escalations.

Customers are therefore encouraged to review partners鈥 support capabilities when selecting and working with partners. Effective partners apply 麻豆原创 support best practices to help resolve issues and self-sufficiently handle customers鈥 consulting and 鈥渉ow-to鈥 inquiries. As a target for showing trusted support expertise, no more than 30% of partner-created support cases should fall into these categories. High-performing partners will establish standard operating procedures and continuously optimize service delivery by leveraging 麻豆原创鈥檚 data-driven support insights. Such partners also engage more efficiently with customers and 麻豆原创 by speaking the same language because consultants are qualified on support offerings, channels, and best practices through the Support Accreditation training. They can also deliver best practice-based implementations by applying 麻豆原创 guidance available through 麻豆原创 Cloud ALM.

To simplify partner selection, also based on their trusted support expertise, 麻豆原创 will show such qualified partners in 麻豆原创 Partner Finder from March 2026 onwards.

As a prerequisite for showing such trusted support expertise, customers need to ensure their partners are working with partner S-users.

Customer action recommendations to realize incremental value when engaging partners

When seeking a partner, select those with trusted support expertise, visible from March 2026 onward in through a support proficiency designation.

When working with your partner, enable transparency by authorizing partner S-users for support case handling via the and leverage the in 麻豆原创 for Me for transparency on partner support collaboration effectiveness.

The decision to further strengthen this long-standing partnership was unveiled during a guest lecture at QUT鈥檚 Gardens Point campus, where Julian Lebherz, 麻豆原创 Strategic Advisor, addressed Master’s students enrolled in the QUT Business Process Analytics course. A key highlight of this collaboration is the nomination of Lebherz as QUT Industry Fellow, underscoring the ambition and momentum of the connection between 麻豆原创 and QUT. With over a decade of highly specialized experience deploying process intelligence solutions and establishing associated delivery organizations in various industries, he is globally recognized as one of the leading experts in the field. Collaborating with renowned designers and artisans worldwide, Serax creates distinctive collections of tableware, furniture, lighting, and other home accessories. The company designs pieces in Europe and manufactures them globally.

Serax is a customer-centric company that prioritizes excellent service for its B2B and B2C customers. It was precisely this customer focus that led Serax to implement solutions to help automate its order-to-cash process.

The challenge

The order process is straightforward for most customers, including B2C. Customers order what they want on the web shop, and the order is directly entered into 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

However, Serax鈥檚 B2B customers often still place orders by generating a PDF in their ERP system and automatically sending it to Serax鈥檚 customer service mailbox. These B2B manual orders amount to 30% of all orders coming into Serax.

Once Serax receives the order, the customer service team must manually download the PDF, double-check dates and quantities, and then enter the order details into 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to create the sales order. This entire process is time-consuming and error-prone.

鈥淧roviding excellent service is one of our core priorities, and this can be enabled by gaining efficiencies in certain processes,鈥 says Sara Goris, 麻豆原创 product manager at Serax. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 basically what led us to this use case. Our customer service team was still entering 30% of all orders manually into the system. We wanted to streamline that process from our side, especially since many of our customers will continue to send sales orders in PDF format.鈥

The solution

Serax needed a solution to automatically create sales orders from PDFs. It achieved this by activating and fine-tuning an app called . This app was built with using , which allows businesses to create web and mobile applications.

With the app, Serax can drag and drop the PDF from the customer鈥檚 e-mail into the app before it orchestrates the entire process. First, it sends the PDF to 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP), where extracts the data. The document API uses pre-trained AI to take PDF files as inputs and return structured data. The second step is data matching. The application maps the extracted data to the master data, such as sold-to party, ship-to party, and product. This helps ensure the extracted data from the PDFs makes sense in the context of Serax鈥檚 business.

A sales order request is created, and the customer service employee is notified to review it and convert it into an actual sales order in 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Results

The application has cut the number of manual B2B orders by 33%.

The time saved lets Serax invest back into better customer service. 鈥淭ime savings mean our customer service employees can spend more time on real customer service instead of putting in an order,鈥 says Ragna Qvick, digital business manager and HR performance manager at Serax. Serax鈥檚 employees also have more time for value-adding activities like upselling or cross-selling.

This jump in efficiency enables Serax to grow its business by adding more capacity for the team. 鈥淲e either needed more resources or for our existing people to become more efficient so that they can focus on more value-adding tasks for our customers,鈥 Goris says.

Another benefit of automation is reduced errors, as customer service employees no longer need to enter precise values from the PDF when creating sales orders. Instead, they can rely on document extraction to populate the order; they only need to confirm the values. 鈥淚t reduces the risk of errors because when it’s a human action, there’s always a chance of errors in quantities or other details,鈥 Qvick says.

Future

Serax and its partner are already looking at additional capabilities to automate the flow fully. This way, customer service employees will no longer need to open the emails and drag and drop the PDF. 鈥淲e have a proof of concept running to automate the process fully. It will pick up the attachment from the mailbox directly into 麻豆原创 S/4HANA,鈥 Goris says. 鈥淚t will also inform the customer service rep if anything is missing. They get a notification via Situation Handling to know when to intervene.鈥

Pyrotechnics Company Etienne Lacroix Group Leverages Generative AI Powered by STMS and 麻豆原创 /2025/01/etienne-lacroix-group-leverages-generative-ai/ Fri, 10 Jan 2025 13:15:00 +0000 /?p=230865 Working together in a co-innovation project, 麻豆原创 customer , 麻豆原创 partner STMS, and 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab created a prototype for a generative AI solution that produces shipping labels for dangerous goods.

As the world鈥檚 No.1 fireworks provider, French pyrotechnics company Etienne Lacroix ships fireworks globally and has supported events such as the Burj Khalifa Grand Opening Fireworks Show in Dubai and Bastille Day, France鈥檚 national holiday that is celebrated on July 14 each year.

Logistics play a major role for the global player in the pyrotechnics sector, as shipping hazardous materials such as fireworks requires special precautions, especially when crossing international borders. Labels typically include warning pictograms and complex regulatory information in various formats. Recipients such as customs officers must be able to tell at a glance what sort of goods are inside, what the required shipping conditions are, and who is authorized to open the freight.

鈥淥n top of that, customers have their own specific requirements,鈥 , director of Information Systems at Etienne Lacroix explains. 鈥淎lso, there are different color codes in place for hazmat, depending on the country of destination. Red may mean danger in European countries, but in China, for example, it stands for celebration. Green has a different meaning in the Middle East that it does in the U.S., and so on.鈥

With so many different regulations in place around the globe, labeling the shipments at the end of the production line is not only time-consuming, but also leaves a lot of potential for human error. Now, with support from 麻豆原创 partner STMS and 麻豆原创, the prototype for a generative AI solution was introduced that has the potential to reduce human involvement to a minimum.

Business AI Co-Innovation Project with 麻豆原创 partner STMS

In early 2024, , general manager at STMS SOLUTIONS, a longtime partner of both 麻豆原创 and Etienne Lacroix, participated in a event where 麻豆原创 partners leveraged 麻豆原创 technology to address pain points of their customers. The idea for a generative AI use case came up, and STMS approached its customer Etienne Lacroix.

At that time, IT and business experts at Etienne Lacroix were very interested in how generative AI could assist them in making their processes easier. 

鈥淏ut I have to admit, I was also a little skeptical,鈥 Marini says. 鈥淓verybody is currently talking about AI, about how to introduce it to the industry and the huge benefits we will reap from leveraging it. But suggestions are scarce when it comes to implementing it in a way that guarantees the company will benefit from it.鈥

鈥淭ogether, we looked at the pain points of the company and discussed possible use cases with 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab,鈥 Faure says. 鈥淲e received the requirement from the business that AI should help avoid human tasks that are error-prone and don鈥檛 actually add value.鈥

Supply Chain Use Case with Generative AI

The team quickly identified that the administrative process of creating labels for shipping was a task currently performed by human employees that required a huge amount of time and focus. The huge potential for the usage of generative AI was evident. 

鈥淲ith guidance from experts from the 麻豆原创 partner organization, we were able to build a specific 麻豆原创 app on and 麻豆原创 S/4HANA to organize and use AI,鈥 Faure says. 鈥淲e then collected feedback from the business experts at Etienne Lacroix and, in the next step, brought in the generative aspect.鈥

To meet the regulations from the customer, the developers from STMS aggregated all the necessary data and created a model on 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud vector engine.

Thanks to 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud vector engine, which was newly introduced in 2024, 麻豆原创 Business AI can allow customers and partners to leverage large language models (LLMs) in a much more accurate way on multi-model database 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud. In case of the generative AI use case for Etienne Lacroix, the LLM was ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo.

鈥淭echnically, this prototype leverages everything 麻豆原创 has to offer in terms of AI right now,鈥 Faure says. 鈥淭he app uses 麻豆原创鈥檚 generative AI hub and 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud vector engine to draw on all the necessary information and generate the label.鈥

The remaining human task is to validate whether everything on the label is correct. 鈥淭hat was the most important requirement,鈥 Marini says. 鈥淗uman intervention must be guaranteed, as with all AI use cases.鈥

鈥淚t鈥檚 the generative aspect that makes all the difference,鈥 Miliau Pape from 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab says. The LLM suggests what should go on the specific label鈥攕uch as warning pictograms鈥攂ased on legal regulations, historical customer requirements, cultural standards, and so on. The Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) provides the LLM with context and makes the outcome relevant and reliable. 鈥淪imply put, when the AI is trying to be as creative as possible, the RAG provides guardrails, so it doesn鈥檛 potentially go wild and come up with nonsense,鈥 Pape says.

For each shipment, a prompt draws on destination, shipping route, specific customer data, such as the storage and language this customer required the last time, or the colors or signs used to indicate that the shipment contains hazardous materials and can only be opened by experts with a certain certification.

鈥淢y first thought when I saw this, was鈥攕imply put鈥攚ow,鈥 Marini says. 鈥淲ow, they actually did it. Wow, this will make our lives easier. This generative AI use case, at this point, may still be only a prototype, but it鈥檚 an applicable idea, an actual use case for an actual pain point in our company.鈥

鈥淭o show the world of possible, push the boundaries of the technology鈥攖hat is the purpose of the exercise,鈥 Pape says.

Etienne Lacroix Group is in the process of migrating to . With the components of the app ready on 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform, go-live is planned for 2025.

鈥淥ur ERP was aging and no longer very popular with business users,鈥 Marini says. 鈥淢igration to 麻豆原创 S/4HANA gives us access to the newest technologies such as generative AI. This motivates users to take ownership of their IT solutions again and brings our business and IT together. All in all, it allows our company to fully exploit the potential of our 麻豆原创 system.鈥

He adds: 鈥淭he generative AI solution for labeling shipments is a tangible proof of the power of AI, a real use case, and we have it in our company. It is a very decisive first step in our AI journey.鈥
