Generative AI capabilities in the 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors solution also generates interview questions tailored to specific job descriptions and candidates鈥 resumes, helping ensure inclusive language. The combined effect of these business AI capabilities saves hiring managers precious time and improves interview quality, maximizing the effectiveness of the hiring process.

We are also announcing talent intelligence hub in 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors software, which leverages people鈥檚 skills, competencies, capabilities, interests, work styles, and learning preferences to formulate recommendations that help employees develop and grow. Growing Supply Chain Resilience

In supply chain, we are using AI to help predict, prepare, and respond to rapidly evolving demands. New generative AI capabilities in 麻豆原创 Transportation Management enable automotive and manufacturing companies to automatically process the tens of thousands of delivery notes they receive daily in different formats. The automation avoids data entry errors and works out of the box without requiring curated training data.

Additionally, in 麻豆原创 Extended Warehouse Management, we are introducing an intelligent slotting capability that uses AI to suggest how to optimize warehouse organization, stocking, and replenishment based on a product鈥檚 characteristics, demand, or forecasts. This capability helps maximize warehouse space and increase the efficiency of warehouse management.

Users can take advantage of the intelligent slotting capability today; intelligent goods receipt is planned for availability later this year.

Increasing Efficiency and Compliance in Procurement

In procurement, we are using AI to help users contain costs and increase compliance across different markets. The new intelligent invoice conversion capability in 麻豆原创 Business Network makes it easier for procurement teams to onboard new suppliers by automatically extracting and processing relevant information from supplier invoices. A close feedback loop improves the mapping accuracy over time, further expediting invoice processing and accuracy.

Kick Start for the First Sovereign Cloud Platform for the Public Sector in Germany: 麻豆原创 and Arvato Systems Announce Partnership /2022/02/sap-arvato-systems-partnership/ Thu, 03 Feb 2022 10:00:03 +0000 /?p=194381 WALLDORF 鈥 The partnership represents a breakthrough approach for cloud-based innovation.]]> WALLDORF 鈥 (NYSE: 麻豆原创) and Arvato Systems today announced the intent to invest in a new German company that will provide a sovereign cloud infrastructure for the German public sector.

This cloud infrastructure is designed to meet the unique national requirements set out in the German cloud strategy. There will be no network dependencies on systems outside Germany, and the independent operation of all services is ensured. All data will be processed and stored in Germany, and all services will be delivered from within Germany.

A completely new company is to be established to provide a sovereign cloud for the public sector in Germany. The aim of the new company is to drive digital transformation in Germany. It is planned that, in addition to 麻豆原创, Arvato Systems will also become a shareholder and additionally will take over operations.

The offering will be based on the broadly adopted Microsoft Azure platform and related Microsoft services, including cutting-edge collaboration and productivity solutions of Microsoft 365 along with industry-leading 麻豆原创庐 business applications and tools. Approved third-party providers can also offer their applications on the platform.

The planned new company will provide a broad catalog of digital solutions to support the digitalization efforts of the German government to accelerate the use of cloud technology in the German public sector and will meet the strict requirements put in place by the Bundesamt f眉r Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI).

The offering of this new company will be a vendor-neutral stack built on an open platform based on Microsoft鈥檚 secure cloud technology, and it will offer full interoperability with other tools. With that, the infrastructure can support a variety of cloud solutions from independent vendors including open source software. Already today, 60% of the workloads on Azure are Linux-based.

A Sovereign Cloud Platform from a Technical, Operational and Legal Perspective

This offering is designed to meet the technical, operational and legal sovereignty requirements of the German government. It will be governed by German law and address the data sovereignty needs of the German public sector.

The cloud infrastructure will be owned by the new German entity. Furthermore, it is planned that the technical operation will be taken over by Arvato Systems as an experienced infrastructure operator. The infrastructure will be strictly separated from Microsoft鈥檚 global data center infrastructure and the existing public cloud infrastructure in Germany.

So it came as no surprise that when we announced our new RISE with 麻豆原创 offering, a highlight for many was Satya Nadella joining me to share his thoughts on how Microsoft and 麻豆原创 team up to lift collaboration to the next level. One aspect many of you were particularly interested in is how we will integrate 麻豆原创 solutions with Microsoft Teams, so let鈥檚 have a look at some examples.

Putting Collaboration into Business Context

For many companies around the world, remote selling has become a necessity for conducting business. To simplify remote sales processes and allow sales professionals to fully focus on their customer engagements, we will integrate 麻豆原创 Sales Cloud with Microsoft Teams. Users can easily set up meetings from the 麻豆原创 system without switching applications. During a customer call, all information will be accessible in Microsoft Teams via an embedded 麻豆原创 Sales Cloud application. Finally, all information, including meeting recording and notes, will get automatically synced back to 麻豆原创 Sales Cloud in real time. A lot of 麻豆原创 solutions could form a robust symbiosis with Microsoft Teams, and we will cover a wide range of use cases across lines of business 鈥 from procurement to recruiting, talent management, and learning to travel and expense management.

Take 麻豆原创 Business Network as an example: While it helps drive process efficiency through predefined messages, documents, and rules that can be shared and processed systematically, Microsoft Teams complements 麻豆原创 solutions through collaboration capabilities like online meetings, chats, and more. Together, the solutions would enable users to run business processes efficiently while being resilient to disruptions.

Or imagine you are a recruiter working with our human experience management (HXM) solutions, wanting to finalize a contract with a prospective hire. By integrating Microsoft Teams, you could extract the contract from your 麻豆原创 system, edit it in Microsoft Teams, trigger a call to confirm the changes with the prospect, and store the contract back in your 麻豆原创 system without changing applications.

As you can see, the opportunities are endless! The first integration scenarios are planned to go live throughout this year, with the integrations for 麻豆原创 Sales Cloud and 麻豆原创 S/4HANA to come in the second quarter, and others to follow suit. These will mainly focus on classic use cases, such as setting up Microsoft Teams meetings directly via the 麻豆原创 applications. Next are then even bolder steps as we plan to enable context-based collaboration through 麻豆原创 systems and Microsoft Teams. This will allow users to access all relevant information about their interaction in Microsoft Teams through their 麻豆原创 systems or vice versa, anywhere and anytime.

Ultimately, with this, we will step up the employee experience and enable smooth and frictionless interactions across all levels of enterprises and their environment.

One of our first integration scenarios relates to 麻豆原创 S/4HANA and Microsoft Teams. With the solution alignment, customers will be able to identify their business partners easily and initiate contact directly from 麻豆原创 S/4HANA鈥攚ith no need to switch between applications or devices. This will help customers swiftly react to business situations based on real-time data and constant communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Simplify and modernize the remote sales experience: Today, remote selling has become an imperative for companies across the globe. Integrating 麻豆原创 Sales Cloud with Microsoft Teams simplifies the remote selling process and removes barriers to customer engagement through an embedded in-app integration of the two solutions. For example, without switching applications, customer calls can be initiated directly from the customer experience application鈥攈elping ensure transparency and consistency within customer relationship management (CRM) and saving time through user-friendly workflows.
  • Foster collaboration and build learning communities: Organizations have realized the necessity of providing simple, intuitive, and engaging ways for employees to learn new skills, share knowledge, and stay informed鈥攁ll in a virtual environment. Bringing together 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors solutions and Microsoft Teams will support learning experiences that enable collaboration, social learning, and remote conferencing.

We also plan to collaborate with Microsoft to enhance 麻豆原创 Cloud Appliance Library, a tool that makes it easier for users to quickly provision 麻豆原创 applications for immediate use in the cloud, and offer automated 麻豆原创 system installations for 麻豆原创 S/4HANA. Customers can also subscribe to 麻豆原创 Landscape Management Cloud, improving scalability and operation efforts, and benefit from an 麻豆原创 system-centered view of their Microsoft Azure landscape. Additionally, we are working on a more guided approach for customers to quickly deploy 麻豆原创 S/4HANA directly into Microsoft Azure. For better transparency within the transformation process, we will provide guidance on data migration tool usage for the transition of 麻豆原创 workloads from on premise to 麻豆原创 S/4HANA on Microsoft Azure.

Bringing Platform Services Closer Together

We will also continue to expand the global availability聽of 麻豆原创 solutions on Microsoft Azure during 2021. Together, we will drive co-innovation between (麻豆原创 BTP) and Microsoft Azure services to deliver business outcomes to our customers. The range of capabilities includes event integration based on open standards, single sign-on and provisioning of users between Microsoft and 麻豆原创, secure network connectivity, and improved application development experience on 麻豆原创 BTP. My 麻豆原创 Executive Board colleague and our Chief Technology Officer Juergen Mueller will give more insight on the role of 麻豆原创 BTP in the upcoming days.

With our partnership, we bring together Microsoft Teams with 麻豆原创 solutions, accelerate migration and improve operational efficiencies, and bring platform services closer together. 麻豆原创 will use Microsoft Azure to run these solutions in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model that can help reduce the customer鈥檚 need to manage the software and underlying infrastructure while accelerating time to value of supply chain applications. Customers will be able to scale globally by leveraging Azure which offers enterprise-grade compute, storage, and network services to support mission-critical performance and business continuity to run 麻豆原创 Digital Supply Chain solutions.

麻豆原创 Manufacturing Suite, 麻豆原创 Intelligent Asset Management, supply chain networks solutions from 麻豆原创, and the 麻豆原创 Internet of Things (麻豆原创 IoT) solution are already available on Microsoft Azure in Europe and the United States today.

When managing a global, distributed supply chain and manufacturing environment, companies face challenges with constrained bandwidth, latency, and massive volumes of data that can adversely affect execution and quality scenarios. Here, the solution lies in edge computing.

Think of edge computing as a form of distributed computing where data, applications, and business processes are run near the source of generated data. The ability to extend and run business processes at the edge enables organizations with factories, plants, warehouses or remote operations, to fully automate and run their operations independently 鈥 enabling faster processing and support for data residency requirements. Horizons by 麻豆原创 talked with Ryan Fuller, corporate vice president of Workplace Intelligence for Microsoft Corporation, about the meaning of workplace intelligence, the technology tools needed to develop it, and the trick to using data-driven insights securely and with trust.

Q: The term 鈥渨orkplace intelligence鈥 is relatively new. How would you define it?

A: Overall, it鈥檚 about working smarter, not harder, but not just at an individual level. We want to find ways to make the whole organization work smarter. It鈥檚 often not clear how to do that, because it鈥檚 hard to understand how the things hundreds or thousands of employees do each day add up to the results that companies actually measure.

How do you get a clear picture of what鈥檚 happening?

You need to be able to zoom way out to be able to see the whole picture. That requires the right kind of data, so you can identify the patterns that lead to better outcomes. Often companies spend huge amounts of time doing things that don鈥檛 add that much value. How can we stop doing those things and devote the time to more impactful things? Or give our employees more of their time back, so they can live fuller lives beyond work?

The idea of continuous improvement has been around for a long time. Yet in many organizations, it feels like we鈥檙e going in the wrong direction.

Workplace intelligence helps us create some new patterns that reverse that trajectory. It gives everybody the tools, visibility, and data to know how to work as effectively as possible in the shortest amount of time possible.

What is the first place to start experimenting, once you鈥檝e freed up some capacity?

We like to look for bright spots鈥搕hose parts of the team or organization that consistently outperform their peers. Oftentimes, leaders know that a given team is great, but don鈥檛 know why. Usually the team doesn鈥檛 know either鈥搕hey just know that they do good work.

How do you figure it out?

When we focus on the behavioral data, we can start to see patterns. Let鈥檚 say you learn that the team spends 50 percent more time with customers than any other team. You then learn that happened when their management decided to spend less time on forecasting and internal processes. Although it鈥檚 a simple change, it鈥檚 massively impactful in terms of how people have been able to spend their time. And now you have a proven pattern within your own organization that you can scale.

Success breeds success.

Exactly. If you can find areas that are working, you can then figure out why and how it happened and scale it out. Next, you must spot opportunities to improve and enact those changes elsewhere. Companies get into this continuous cycle where people identify opportunities, use data to figure out a better path forward, and then enact change programs. Then they measure results. The idea is to encourage a culture of experimentation and learning.

What kinds of capabilities or functionality are needed to execute this type of program?

My team specializes in compiling passive, aggregated, and deidentified data automatically generated from e-mails, meetings, chats鈥揳ll kinds of collaboration tools that companies use. We turn that data into a behavioral data set. From that data, you can understand how people spend time, which teams are spending time with other teams, and what people鈥檚 networks look like. You can derive all of these very interesting insights that are really hard to measure in any other way. As a result, company leaders can get a full understanding of exactly how that process works. They can tell whether it is efficient or needs to be improved.

In your research and your work with customers, have the analytics revealed any surprises?

Very frequently, actually. For example, sales leaders often say that sellers should spend most of their time with customers. We can look at the data to see how teams are working, how they engage with customers, how much time they spend on different activities, who they bring to the meeting, and what
their networks are like. You can also see which patterns correlate most with revenue generation. And top performers do tend to spend more time with customers. But even more predictive of better performance is that top performers have larger internal networks鈥搈eaning that they engage with more people within their own company more frequently than others do.

Why is that?

When you think about it, sales is not a one-person activity. For example, you must know the right specialist to bring into a customer meeting, or the person in legal that can push through a contract quickly, or how your product team is thinking about the road map. In fact, your ability to bring everything that your company can offer to a customer is really contingent upon your personal network. That takes work and a lot of time. If you spend 90 percent of your time with customers, how are you going to know anybody at your company?

So, how do people react when they get these insights?

Sales leaders initially find it counterintuitive that internal network is so important. Once they see the data, they can quantify how that networking accelerates the ability to produce revenue. Then they understand the value of this intelligence.

What kind of tools are available to help companies develop more workplace intelligence?

It starts with identifying new insights from a behavioral data set. That鈥檚 what Microsoft Workplace Analytics offers. Instead of relying on surveys, anecdotes, and consultants to know what鈥檚 happening, the technology provides an objective, always-current data set. You can set new goals for what you want to achieve and then operationalize it by putting in place some lever to drive change.

How would that look in your sales example?

Management could decide that employees need time to develop those personal networks. Perhaps they redesign sales territories to make them smaller. Then we measure to see if that has an impact. The data helps you know when to make a change. And then you can operationalize it using traditional management levers, like a dashboard.

Where do the employees鈥 decisions come into play?

The next layer is addressed by products such as Microsoft MyAnalytics. Let鈥檚 say you realize that teams with higher employee satisfaction have managers who spend more time in one-on-one meetings with their direct reports. This context-aware technology provides employees with individualized, personal insights that help them accomplish their goals. Maybe a calendar app sends a message suggesting that a meeting with your direct report Brian is overdue, and it notes that you鈥檙e both free tomorrow at 2:30. The software prompts you to send a meeting invitation. We try to engage users at just the right moment with helpful information that will help them be more productive and engaged.

What different types of assistance can employees benefit from?

Some solutions make it easier for a user to do something they already intended to do, like automatically filling in the rest of an e-mail address as they type. More advanced software proposes things that the user didn鈥檛 think about but would have done, like scheduling that meeting with Brian. The most sophisticated is software that introduces actions the user wouldn鈥檛 have considered, because they are designed to meet some larger organizational goal.

You mentioned security and trust earlier. How do you find that balance between providing useful insights and maintaining employees鈥 trust?

First, flexible privacy and compliance controls allow customers to protect their data. Organizational data is aggregated and deidentified. It鈥檚 adapted to country requirements. And the tools evolve based on what customers need. We do a lot of low-scale experimentation and we work hard to solicit feedback on how people are using the software and their reactions. We frequently change the words we use on prompts. It鈥檚 amazing how the same nudge, worded slightly differently, can be received differently.

There鈥檚 a real risk-reward equation that people apply to technology.

That鈥檚 true. People may inherently distrust the technology, but they start to feel differently if they鈥檙e getting value from it. That said, we need to earn trust by making sure that we鈥檙e not doing any of the things that people worry about. As we earn trust, hesitancy shrinks. But that鈥檚 not something you can do overnight. We think about it every day, with every feature. Because we know crossing that line is not easy to uncross. We want to help organizations and employees be empowered to spend time in the most useful ways, and as we do that, the value grows and grows.
