Scales Momentum of Almost Three-Times Team Growth and Numerous Patents Filed

SINGAPORE — March 19, 2025 — Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore today announced its collaboration with National University of Singapore (NUS) under the Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPP). Supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the IPP is designed to enable globally-leading companies to nurture postgraduate talent with critical research skills. Through this program, Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore will hire and complete training for nine researchers in its AI team in Singapore by end-2030, adding to the continued growth of the lab.

Since its establishment in 2022, Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore has not only achieved its commitment to hire 200 AI engineers in Singapore but has also almost tripled its total headcount over the past three years to 420 – hired mostly from local universities and institutions of higher learning, including the NUS and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore today plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, with numerous AI-related patents filed by inventors based locally. New researchers hired through the IPP will also be recruited from NUS, and will work on new research areas, complementing the work done by incumbent team, to accelerate AI adoption in the industry.

The rapid scaling and achievement of its hiring and innovation targets have been pivotal to enable Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore to test, refine, and deploy AI advancements that offer tangible ROI across core Â鶹ԭ´´ solutions including HR, finance, and supply chain software.

“Our vision for Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore was to become a vibrant engine of innovation in Asia, creating cutting-edge solutions for our customers worldwide,” said Manik Saha, Managing Director, Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore & Vietnam. “Today, that vision has turned into a reality: not only have we nearly tripled our staff while continuing to nurture future talent, we’ve also pushed the boundaries of what AI can do for enterprises, going beyond experiments to deliver AI solutions that truly make a difference in people’s day-to-day work.”

Agentic AI: Leading the Next Wave Beyond Generative AI

Â鶹ԭ´´’s engineering teams in Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore are already playing a central role in driving Agentic AI, an evolution that moves from basic automation and predictive models to autonomous agents capable of managing entire workflows.

By harnessing Agentic AI, such as , enterprises can turn AI investment into real business outcomes, including:

  • End-to-End Process Automation: From procurement requests to invoice management, entire sequences become self-driving.
  • Smarter Decision-Making: AI agents collaborating across end-to-end processes to help businesses make better decisions in real time.
  • Scalable ROI: With applications, data and processes harmonized, organizations see faster time-to-value compared to traditional AI pilots.

“Our team at Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore has co-created numerous client features, from one-click, guided, employee development goals creation in Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors, to embedded analytical capabilities in finance. And the next step will be new agentic innovation, demonstrating that AI can transform traditional business challenges into opportunities,” said Saha.

The success of Agentic AI is underpinned by a unified data foundation. The newly launched Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud brings together large-scale datasets from multiple sources, ensuring that AI agents have the context they need to drive more intelligent automation.

“Data is the fuel that feeds AI, and we’ve made it our mission to deliver a seamless way to connect disparate data,” said Verena Siow, President and Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Â鶹ԭ´´. “As Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud breaks down silos and scales AI capabilities across lines of businesses, regions and industries, Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore serves as an innovation engine to translate AI investments into tangible, measurable ROI for customers so that they can continue to Accelerate to Innovate and achieve their business ambitions.”

The rapid growth at Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore spotlights how Asia, with Singapore at its epicenter, is becoming a magnet for advanced digital technologies.

“Companies in Southeast Asia aren’t just catching up—they’re often leapfrogging into the most sophisticated AI use cases,” added Siow. “Our success at Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore is proof that, when you combine visionary public policy with forward-thinking R&D investments, you can fast-track innovation that resonates around the globe. More and more customers in the region, such as Olam Agri, Bank Danamon, and Darussalam Assets, are already incorporating Â鶹ԭ´´ Business AI capabilities into their business processes.”

“The expansion of Â鶹ԭ´´ Labs Singapore and the addition of a new R&D team exemplifies how companies can leverage Singapore’s world-class AI talent to solve complex enterprise challenges,” said Mr. Chan Ih-ming, Executive Vice President, Singapore Economic Development Board. “Â鶹ԭ´´’s collaboration with NUS through the Industrial Postgraduate Programme will further strengthen the pipeline of AI talent in Singapore. It is a tangible example of an industry-academia partnership that equips our researchers with deep research capabilities to develop innovative AI solutions that are enterprise-centric.”

Landmark Collaboration Redefines Enterprise Data Management and Unleashes the Full Potential of Agentic AI

NEW YORK —Ìý (NYSE: Â鶹ԭ´´) today announced Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud, a groundbreaking solution that unifies all Â鶹ԭ´´ and third-party data throughout an organization, providing the trusted data foundation organizations need to make more impactful decisions and foster reliable AI.

The solution harmonizes data from organizations’ most mission-critical applications with data engineering and business analytics capabilities, paving the way for next-level innovation and insights.

This between Â鶹ԭ´´ and Databricks marks a new era in enterprise data management as two leaders in their domains come together to redefine how applications and data platforms work together. The new solution natively embeds Databricks technology for data engineering, machine learning and AI workloads.

“Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud unleashes the full value of enterprise data for Business AI,” said Â鶹ԭ´´ CEO Christian Klein. “It combines Â鶹ԭ´´’s unique expertise in mission-critical, end-to-end processes and semantically rich data with Databricks’ world-class data engineering capabilities to create a ground-breaking solution that helps organizations do more with their data than ever before.”

“Every company on the planet wants to get more value out of their data and greater returns on their AI investments,” said Ali Ghodsi, Co-founder and CEO of Databricks. “By joining forces with Â鶹ԭ´´, we’re helping organizations bring together all their data — regardless of format or where it lives — to govern, analyze and build domain-specific AI applications on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.”

Introducing the data product economy

Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud also helps Â鶹ԭ´´ foster the growth of a data product economy. It delivers fully-managed Â鶹ԭ´´ data products across all business processes – from finance, spend and supply chain data in Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA and Â鶹ԭ´´ Ariba, to learning and talent data in Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors. These data products maintain their original business context and semantics, providing immediate access to high-quality data without costly extraction processes. For example, if a CFO wants to assess the impact of rising inflation on profitability, Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud integrates real-time external data such as the consumer price index with financial data products such as general ledger accounts or cost centers to create a comprehensive financial snapshot.

Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud will also offer new capabilities called insight apps that use data products and AI models connected to real-time data to deliver advanced analytics and planning across all lines of business, including core enterprise analytics, finance and human resources.

“Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud will help us unlock the value of our data and drive innovation across our business,” said Markus Hartmann, Corporate Vice President and Head of Business Technology and regions Europe, APAC and IMEA, at Henkel, a multinational chemical and consumer goods company. “Its semantically rich data products and deep Databricks integration will enhance our existing data products and empower us to model scenarios and leverage AI insights, building a sustainable future for our data ecosystems.”

Delivering on the full promise of AI agents

Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Data Cloud will improve how Joule, Â鶹ԭ´´’s generative AI copilot, accelerates cross-functional workflows and improves business decision-making with AI agents. Powered by the highest-quality enterprise dataset in the industry – and the Â鶹ԭ´´ Knowledge Graph solution, which provides a business-friendly model of data – Joule agents deeply understand end-to-end processes and can collaborate across functions to solve complex business challenges, something no other agent builder technology can do out of the box.

Underscoring today’s announcement and its significance for AI innovation, Â鶹ԭ´´ also unveiled a series of ready-to-use Joule agents across finance, service, sales and more to come across the Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Suite. In finance, for example, agents will work together across a variety of tasks to process claims faster and improve cashflow. Joule sales agents, meanwhile, will accelerate multi-step business processes to resolve disputes and process customer inquiries faster.

Â鶹ԭ´´ today also announced a powerful new agent builder capability, so customers can build and deploy their own AI agents alongside Â鶹ԭ´´’s library of ready-to-deploy Joule agents. Â鶹ԭ´´’s decades of business process expertise are built into the guided workflow so users can ground their custom agents in the most relevant data and business context.

Bangkok, 24 September 2024 — today announced that Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, a global sustainable chemicals company, has partnered with Taulia to optimize its working capital under the company’s program to transform its global manufacturing operations, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness. Acquired by Â鶹ԭ´´ in 2022, Taulia is a leading provider of working capital management solutions and aims to help Â鶹ԭ´´ customers generate billions of dollars of free cash flow and improve resilience and sustainability in supply chains.Ìý

Headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, Indorama Ventures is one of the world’s leading petrochemicals producers, with about 140 manufacturing sites across five continents. As part of the company’s IVL 2.0 and Procurement 4.0 transformation programs, free cash flow was identified as a key goal across the business. Under Taulia’s early payment program, which went live in August 2024, Indorama Ventures will offer suppliers early payment options at preferential rates, aimed at improving supply chain liquidity and optimizing working capital while supporting business growth through a unified global solution.Ìý Indorama Ventures’ global suppliers are expected to benefit progressively from this program.ÌýÌýÌý

Through the implementation of Taulia, Indorama Ventures will be able to reduce payment cycle times for suppliers, hence improving the financial health of the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) industry in Asia, where payments are typically made after 60 to 90 days. Taulia’s ‘multifunder’ model willÌý enable Indorama Ventures to access an ecosystem of financial institutions, providing flexibility and risk mitigation through diverse funding sources, while suppliers will have access to a stable source of liquidity for outstanding invoices. This integration will empower Indorama Ventures’ finance and procurement teams to benchmark their working capital against global peers while driving efficiency and automation in their working capital management processes.Ìý

Indorama Ventures started its digital transformation journey in 2020 by implementing tools including the Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA ERP platform. In the next phase of its journey, the company is rolling out a range of digital and AI solutions that create value and build excellence across key operational areas including manufacturing, commercial, procurement, sales, supply chain, and finance excellence.ÌýÌý

Sanjay Ahuja, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Indorama Ventures, said, “Indorama Ventures selected Taulia due to its strong track record in the specialty chemicals industry, as well as unified integration with Â鶹ԭ´´, multi-bank ecosystem, 90-second supplier onboarding, and extensive network of millions of suppliers. Collaborating with Â鶹ԭ´´ and implementing Taulia will help streamline our financial operations and enhance our IT goals and cashflow management. This initiative aims to help strengthen our supplier relationships by ensuring faster payments, which is vital for their growth and stability.”ÌýÌý

Kulwipa Piyawattanametha, Managing Director Â鶹ԭ´´ Indochina said, “Indorama Ventures’ implementation of Taulia is a significant step forward for Thai businesses. By accelerating payment cycles and enhancing financial processes, they will be able to provide local suppliers with the liquidity they need to grow and thrive. This initiative also aligns with our commitment to supporting the Thai economy and government initiatives aimed at strengthening the nation’s supply chain resilience. Together, we are building a more robust economic foundation for the future.”ÌýÌýÌý

Rene Ho, Chief Financial Officer, Taulia said, “We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Indorama Ventures as they pursue their free cash flow objectives under the IVL 2.0 initiative. We understand the vital role that the supply chain plays in their success. Through Taulia’s early payment program, we are committed to helping suppliers of all sizes access the liquidity they need through a carefully designed strategy and framework. This initiative also marks a significant step in our ongoing expansion across Asia, where we continue to support Asian corporates in their growth and strengthen local supply chains.”Ìý

As the old adage goes:

“If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.”

In today’s fast-paced global marketplace dominated by technology, cloud computing and AI have given enterprises new opportunities to optimise productivity and operations – so, which would you choose? To go fast, or go far?

What if you don’t have to choose? What if I tell you that you could go fast, and also go far?

How?

While technology providers are each competing to broaden their solution offerings to include the latest and the greatest – particularly with generative AI technology, in a region such as Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), it is also becoming increasingly difficult for any single provider to offer one-stop solutions that can cater to all needs.

That’s why at Â鶹ԭ´´, we have doubled down on our partnering strategy. With the surge in demand for cloud-based innovations, our dynamic partner ecosystem is becoming increasingly essential in delivering value, tailored to each customer. Today, Â鶹ԭ´´ has more than 25,000 partners in 140 countries globally, with close to 5,000 partners in APJ. We are now living in a new era where our channel partners are leading technology adoption.

Unleashing growth in APJ.

The APJ landscape is anything but homogenous – while diverse in culture and language, it is also home to a significant community of small and midsize enterprises (SMEs), making up overÌý96%¹ of businesses in Asia.

Â鶹ԭ´´ has long worked with midsize businesses to achieve their goals. Globally, rely on Â鶹ԭ´´ to keep them moving forward, and of our customers are small and midsize companies. While midsize companies are the growth engines of the future, Â鶹ԭ´´ understands that they also struggle with many of the same business pressures as their larger counterparts.

Midmarket leaders need flexible, agile tools that can provide the ability to scale without increasing costs and complexity. They need solutions that can help them connect, grow, and innovate their businesses today, and be ready for whatever comes next.

So, in March 2023, Â鶹ԭ´´ introduced a new offering for midsize customers: – a ready-to-run cloud ERP solution, powered by . As a company that already supports the world’s largest enterprises, at Â鶹ԭ´´, we know what it takes to help customers harness benefits from cloud solutions. Based on our success with offering, we are now transferring those industry best practices and deep expertise to help midsize companies realise the value of adopting cloud ERP too.

This is how we help you go fast.

The GROW with Â鶹ԭ´´ offering features services and tools that streamline project delivery at a fixed rate, and the ability to deliver technical go-lives in as little as four to six weeks. Midsize businesses can now enjoy and the of a right-sized, cloud ERP solution, all at a predictable cost.

And here’s how we help you go far.

GROW with Â鶹ԭ´´ customers also gain access to a of local, expert partners, and free learning resources designed to help them derive meaningful business results. Through fit-to-standard configurations, our customers can minimise technical customisations so they can run fast; and add on modular business applications, enabled by , one priority at a time, so they can run far – keeping pace with their speed of innovation, without giving up the readiness to scale as their business grows.

Bringing support closer to you.

For over 50 years, Â鶹ԭ´´ has helped organisations of all sizes bring out their best. And we continue to do that with a laser focus on delivering long-term value to our customers.

Not only has Â鶹ԭ´´ grown our partner ecosystem exponentially, but we have also introduced new programs, initiatives, and frameworks, that revolutionise the way we operate and innovate together with our partners.

Recently, we launched a new Partner-Led Territories (PLT) initiative that delegates specific territories – such as a solution area, an industry, or a geographical area – primarily to carefully appointed partners that meet Â鶹ԭ´´’s criteria. The initiative allows these partners the maximum autonomy in such territories, while bringing consultation and technical support closer to customers. In APJ, the PLT initiative has started rolling out across selected market segments – especially SME-centric ones – in Australia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and emerging markets, including Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Maldives, and Nepal, together with our partners. As the initiative matures, we are also constantly applying best practices to prepare for a full-scale rollout across more APJ markets including Japan and South Korea.

The feedback has been very positive. At one of the launch events last quarter in Goa, India, a customer shared his excitement with me:

I’d never thought growing companies like ours could also access Â鶹ԭ´´’s best-in-class solutions to scale our business – it had always felt a little out of reach. I’m so thrilled that we can now discuss our business needs with a local partner and benefit from such cutting-edge technologies too.

The road ahead.

According to a Forbes Insight survey², 88% of SME business leaders in the Asia Pacific region are looking to expand their international customer base in the next three years. With the in APJ, Â鶹ԭ´´ partners will represent a new key enabler for the growth beyond borders.

At the Â鶹ԭ´´ Sapphire conference in Orlando this year, Â鶹ԭ´´ announced an unprecedented number of strategic, AI partnerships with global market leaders – including AWS, IBM, Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral AI, NVIDIA, and more – infusing Business AI throughout our enterprise cloud portfolio, and supercharging Â鶹ԭ´´ BTP with the broadest set of large language models (LLM) to help customers accelerate their AI adoption.

It has never been more exciting to be part of the Â鶹ԭ´´ partner ecosystem, and the midmarket business. The pace of innovation in this space is simply exhilarating.

We know that business transformation is a journey, not a destination. To help customers find the right expertise, Â鶹ԭ´´ continues to evolve our partner training and validation programs. In addition to the , we have recently introduced a new RISE with Â鶹ԭ´´ Validated Partner recognition to help customers identify their ideal cloud transformation partner, with greater confidence.

Bangkok, Thailand — 13 June 2024 — today announced that Exotic Food Thailand (Exotic Food), a leader in Thai seasoning and ingredients, has accelerated its global expansion and innovation efforts by leveraging , a comprehensive business transformation package that includes an cloud ERP solution, infrastructure, and services.ÌýÌý

Founded in 1999, Exotic Food boasts a presence in 80 countries with over 800 stock keeping units (SKU), making it a household name for Thai flavors worldwide. Their recent surge in global sales reflects a 73% year-over-year growth, benefiting from the newly implemented RISE with Â鶹ԭ´´ which allowed Exotic Food to handle this rapid growth and large volume of transactions with ease.Ìý

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as people stayed home and cooked more, the increased orders put a strain on Exotic Food’s existing on-premise ERP system, hindering scalability. To address this, in January 2023, the organization successfully implemented RISE with Â鶹ԭ´´, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), migrating its on-premise ERP system to the cloud. Powered by Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA Cloud, RISE with Â鶹ԭ´´ enabled Exotic Food to integrate key business functions, streamline operational processes, and improve real-time decision-making. The transition to AWS cloud hosting also boosted performance and stability.Ìý

“The implementation of RISE with Â鶹ԭ´´ on AWS has truly transformed our business operations, enabling us to focus on growth and innovation in the global market,” said Vasana Jantarach, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Exotic Food Thailand. “Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA Cloud has optimized our operational workloads while maintaining staff capacity. It has helped to integrate our financial processes across different departments, providing us a centralized view and allowed us to automate tasks from sales order computation, inventory management, through order fulfilment. The cloud ERP system also handles diverse product configurations in real time, helping us to reach more food lovers globally in less time.”Ìý

Through streamlining financial processes, Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA Cloud helped Exotic Food reduce manual workloads, and achieve faster, more accurate month-end closings. Previously, the process was lengthy due to the recurring need to verify and correct source data. With real-time data recording and verification enabled by Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA Cloud, financial reports are now generated in shorter times with less errors, significantly speeding up the process. The time required for monthly closings has been reduced from 18 days to just eight days.Ìý

Data traceability, production planning, and automation are crucial in the food industry. Previously, transaction data and record-keeping were done on paper, making it tedious to find information for financial audits. With business-critical data now digitalized and migrated onto Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA Cloud, Exotic Food has improved efficiency. Traceability tasks that once took four hours now take just three minutes—a 99 percent reduction. This allows Exotic Food to keep a clean and audit-ready record of its business transactions and enables employees to focus on more strategic tasks, significantly boosting innovation and productivity.ÌýÌý

Automation also helped the organization eliminate multiple manual steps for employees, reducing stocktaking time from two days to half a day on average, a 75 percent reduction, freeing up staff to take on other, business-critical tasks.ÌýÌý

Kulwipa Piyawattanametha, Managing Director Â鶹ԭ´´ Indochina, said, “Exotic Food Thailand’s success in transforming its business to the cloud through RISE with Â鶹ԭ´´ is a testament to the capabilities and value that Â鶹ԭ´´ solutions bring. With enhanced information management, including having a single source of truth and increased data transparency, Exotic Food has significantly improved its operations, making decision-making more convenient for management and allowing the team to focus more on productivity. Furthermore, with Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA Cloud, Exotic Food can now add on new solution extensions more flexibly and accelerate its innovation through cloud-based, AI-powered capabilities that Â鶹ԭ´´ and our partner ecosystem offer.”Ìý

For Exotic Food, having a clear objective with well-defined ERP scope, an experienced Â鶹ԭ´´ implementing partner, and robust post-go-live support, were the keys to success.Ìý

“Migrating an on-premise ERP system to the cloud is a long-term journey, and the project go-live is one of the major milestones. As the implementing partner for Exotic Food Thailand’s adoption of RISE with Â鶹ԭ´´, we are proud to bring our deep expertise in the manufacturing and food industry to support and work alongside Â鶹ԭ´´ and the customer. Together, we look forward to helping Exotic Food drive successful optimization of their business operations in Thailand and across the globe,” said Wisit Wirayagorn, Managing Director, NTT DATA Business Solutions (Thailand) Ltd.Ìý

By Angela Colantuono, Senior Vice President, Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors Asia Pacific & JapanÌý

Like many burgeoning markets in the Asia Pacific & Japan region, Korea is faced with increasing competition for talent, productivity, and digital solutions that will enable further growth. The country is in the midst of some challenging macro conditions including low economic growth rates, an aging population, and a declining quality of employment compounded by a lack of high-tech experts that can help fuel digitalization efforts nationally.Ìý

In this increasingly digitalized and interconnected environment, businesses need intelligent tech solutions to remain agile and innovative. However, they also require skilled talent and leadership to leverage those technologies, filling skill gaps and handling different functions that cannot be automated.ÌýÌý

Managing investments in digital solutions and talent can be a delicate balancing act, but Â鶹ԭ´´ is here to help more organizations get the most value from their digital solutions while providing resources that widen talent pools, providing more comprehensive and customizable skill development to help future proof their business.ÌýÌý

Our Approach to TalentÌý

At Â鶹ԭ´´ TechEd 2022, we announced an ambitious goal to upskill two million professionals by 2025. In pursuit of this vision, we’ve partnered with Coursera to launch an entry-level professional certificate designed for learners of all backgrounds, with no university degree or industry experience required. To measure progress, we look to ‘active learners’ (people who have engaged with and undertaken courses on our learning platform). Currently 51% of our global active learners are from Asia Pacific & Japan, with Korea seeing a 405% increase in the growth of active learners from Q1 2023.Ìý

With our diverse range of digital solutions and increasing focus on talent development, we’re working closely with other brands to innovate within this space, providing solutions that help streamline training and learning processes, delivering development content and courses that are better aligned with organizational needs for a digitally interconnected future.Ìý

A key theme from our Â鶹ԭ´´ HR Connect Seoul 2023 event, which took place this week, was focused on unlocking employee potential through intelligent technologies like generative AI. While AI solutions have been an important component of our solutions for years its function has mostly been confined to backend processes, using advanced analytics and machine learning to deliver real-time insights and suggestions based on comprehensive data.Ìý

Today, generative AI has taken intelligent technology from backend functions to front-end creativity and efficiency. For example, our recently announced solution, Joule is a natural-language, generative AI copilot that helps make it easier and faster for employees to navigate complex processes and for HR teams to respond to requests.ÌýÌý

Within Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors solutions, Joule is improving the employee experience by making it easier and faster for employees to find information, get answers to questions, and complete HR-related tasks, such as approving or rejecting time-off requests; changing names, locations; and more. More functionalities will be available such as clocking in and out, viewing pay statements, and writing unbiased job descriptions. We continue looking at new ways to leverage gen AI to support HR teams in recruiting, managing, and developing talent.Ìý

Redefining Skill Needs and DevelopmentÌý

Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors HXM Suite has integrated various features and capabilities to help organizations address the skills gap, ignite employees’ potential, elevate the employee experience, and inform every people decision – from talent recruitment and internal mobility to learning and performance management.Ìý

Considering how quickly technology evolves and new job titles emerge – organizations must shift force from role-based hiring to skill-based. This ensures skills are embedded into all HR functions from evaluating skill levels of employees through to reskilling, upskilling, and skill-based evaluation, compensation, and recruitment. For businesses to become more skills based, they need the resources to accurately assess their workforce’s current skills and capabilities, identify skills that are needed for the future, and implement a learning and talent strategy that can effectively address the gaps.Ìý

We’re enabling customers to make this shift in mindset and approach through our , an AI-powered skills framework built into Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors that can drive an organization’s learning and talent strategy. By providing a holistic view of the workforce based on skills data from multiple sources, our customers can make data-driven talent decisions across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance, and succession.Ìý

Putting People FirstÌý

Our talent intelligence hub allows employees to build and manage their individual growth portfolio, which includes their skills, competencies, goals, motivations, and work styles to better guide career development and progression. Leveraging data insights, they can receive personalized talent development recommendations, which can include assignments available on Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace, mentors, and dynamic teams.ÌýÌý

By focusing on upskilling and reskilling talent, organizations can establish a more equitable and sustainable work environment. This also enables more autonomy and ownership of people’s learning paths and styles. For example, through AI, a neurodivergent employee’s preferences and behaviors can be used to create a learning experience that optimizes their engagement and comprehension through content, structure, and pacing that best meets their specific needs.ÌýÌý

AI-powered learning platforms can also pave the way for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), creating a workplace where individuals feel valued and supported. Talent development is tailored to meet people’s unique needs and goals while ensuring everyone has access to relevant and engaging learning and progression opportunities. As the ongoing competition for talent intensifies, AI is enabling businesses to extend their talent-pool reach, connecting with talent who’ve been traditionally excluded or underrepresented. Ìý

Â鶹ԭ´´ Supporting Korean InnovationÌý

At our recent Â鶹ԭ´´ HR Connect Seoul 2023 event, attendees heard from GC Biopharma, who’s leveraging solutions like Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors to implement ‘ORG Insight’ a software that provides specialized functions for domestic organization management.ÌýÌý

Using Â鶹ԭ´´’s cloud system, GC Biopharma built its own future-proof HR system, G∶ON, which is enabling the company to utilize AI for HR functions. And as one of the first organizations in APJ to integrate Â鶹ԭ´´ SuccessFactors WorkZone as an HR portal, GC Biopharma is seeing marked improvements in how it engages with talent, leveraging gen AI solutions to better recruit, develop, and upskill their workforce.Ìý

As we continue building our presence and capabilities in Korea, we want to enable more businesses to build future ready workforces with the right skills to push innovation and become a global powerhouse in productivity and leading-edge digital transformation.ÌýÌý

From the latest AI technologies to the way businesses upskill their teams, we’re continually innovating in the HR space and want to help more businesses create personalized, people-centric workplaces, ensuring they have the necessary skills and solutions to remain agile, scalable, and efficient.Ìý

Korea remains a key focus for us in supporting the APJ region. Our Â鶹ԭ´´ Cloud portfolio services over 200 million users across 13,000 customers worldwide. With our expansive expertise and wide range of solutions, we aim to enable Korean enterprises, transforming their employee experience offering while helping them reimagine how they connect with talent and develop their people – no matter the business size or industry.Ìý

By Peter Moore, Head of Enterprise Cloud, Â鶹ԭ´´ Asia Pacific & Japan Ìý

From the keynote stage to the showfloor, whether you were a dev, a customer, or a partner, all around Â鶹ԭ´´ TechEd Bangalore one phrase was repeated time and again: “generative AI”.

The focus of more than 5,000 tech and business decision-makers was fixed firmly on AI and what it could do for their businesses, right now – the products Â鶹ԭ´´ has released through 2024, and what is coming next.

With responsible, reliable, and relevant AI that’s built for business, the view of the thousands of delegates at TechEd 2023 was that the future is looking bright

There was a wealth of incredible insight and opportunity at TechEd. In fact, it was a little bit like going back to school because the things that stood out to me were the ABCs.

A is for AutomationÌý

First, I was struck by the enormous potential businesses can realise through the power of enterprise automation.

With the help of AI, technology is helping developers and IT teams automate repetitive, mundane tasks and make better decisions, faster. By embedding generative AI capabilities into Â鶹ԭ´´ Build Process Automation, Â鶹ԭ´´ Signavio, and Â鶹ԭ´´ Integration Suite, we’re helping customers analyse, integrate, automate, and monitor business processes way more simply – and then immediately write the code to make those processes better. It’s that easy.

In my discussions with customers, it was clear that complementing process improvement and insights with enterprise architecture insights will be a real force for change in the future. Customers are excited to understand how to optimise and tune their architecture for the best performance across their entire IT stack.

But this isn’t future-gazing. Businesses are seeing real results today. Take Zuellig Pharma, one of Asia’s leading healthcare companies, providing pharmaceutical distribution and digital and commercial services across 26,000 direct outlets. Zuellig Pharma implemented best-in-class processes across its Â鶹ԭ´´ infrastructure, creating more than 180 automations using Â鶹ԭ´´ Build Process Automation to streamline and simplify its business.

B is for BuildÌýÌý

Aligned to the focus on automation is the empowerment of a new, powerful resource for IT departments – citizen developers enabled by Â鶹ԭ´´ Build. And given every developer will be an AI developer, the opportunity for an AI-infused future is tantalising.

Rucha Nanavati, CIO of Indian car giant Mahindra & Mahindra, said it best.

“We started identifying tasks that don’t require a lot of human intelligence and that enabled our human workforce to focus on more strategic initiatives,” she said. “That led us to automate more than 250 business processes in 3 months, most of which was done by a community of more than 100 citizen developers.”

“That’s great, but let’s talk about benefits. We count more than 900 workdays saved, and more than 400 development days saved in just a year’s time. We’ve seen a 35% gain in developer efficiency and 20% faster execution of our jobs. And we’ve saved more than 13,000 trees. All in one year,” concluded Nanavati.

The story of Mahindra & Mahindra shows the power of a workforce that has been empowered to make real change to their IT systems and the tangible results that can be realised. And with the ability to link low-code, no-code development with pro-code development via , as well as increasing amounts of natural language interaction through Â鶹ԭ´´ Joule, it is easier than ever to modernize processes fast.Ìý

C is for Clean CoreÌýÌý

At Â鶹ԭ´´, we know better than most that enterprise systems can be complex. That’s why a – a cloud compliant, modern, flexible ERP that can be updated and scaled simply – is at the centre of our strategy.ÌýÌý

And it’s a concept that’s also at the heart of the future strategic direction for all of our customers.ÌýÌý

Takuya Sakai, CIO of Hitachi HiTech, embodies that more than most. His company has used Â鶹ԭ´´ ERP globally for more than 20 years, over which time the system became more and more complex.

“That complexity incurred significant maintenance costs, prevented the company from quickly introducing new innovation, and ultimately hindered its growth,” said Sakai-san. “It was very critical to reduce the complexity.”

Using Â鶹ԭ´´ Business Technology Platform (BTP), Hitachi HiTech was able to easily upgrade Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA systems in the public and private cloud – at the same time reducing the number of add-ons and customisations in the software down from 9,000 to just 800.

“Using Â鶹ԭ´´ BTP we can build smart, global digital processes without touching the Â鶹ԭ´´ S/4HANA core. Â鶹ԭ´´ BTP is a very, very important tool to accelerate our business processes,” concluded Sakai-san.

What’s next: AI for business, not AI for AI’s sakeÌý

It’s easy to get carried away by hype and excitement, especially around innovation like generative AI.

But what I saw at Â鶹ԭ´´ TechEd was even more exciting – new innovations, here today, that are already making a tangible difference to real business problems.

The key is in the context – using your AI to connect data, not just collect it. By generating reliable, responsible insights that understand the context of the business processes that surround them, Business AI will help boost productivity, efficiency, and real outcomes.
