Singapore, 29 July 2025 鈥 At its flagship event ,听 (NYSE: 麻豆原创) announced that , a leading Indonesian multi-sector conglomerate, has embarked on a major business transformation by implementing , a comprehensive transformation journey to help enterprises transition to cloud ERP and other core 麻豆原创 solutions to modernize operations across its expanding retail and manufacturing businesses.

With more than 1,200 stores and 30+ brands, including AZKO, INFORMA, Toys Kingdom, Pet Kingdom, Krisbow, and Chatime, Kawan Lama Group serves millions of customers nationwide. The company鈥檚 recent growth鈥攎arked by aggressive retail expansion, food & beverage ventures, and rebranding efforts鈥攈as led to growing operational complexity and data silos that limit visibility and agility.

The company鈥檚 legacy ERP system, in use for over a decade, needs to keep pace with its evolving business landscape. Opening a single new outlet often required new system configurations and long manual processes. Kawan Lama Group needed a more scalable digital foundation to support its ambitions鈥攊ncluding bringing manufacturing in-house, reducing reliance on imports, and delivering faster, more personalized service across its channels.

By implementing RISE with 麻豆原创, Kawan Lama is laying down a unified digital core, an integrated system that connects different business functions and breaks down data silos or isolated sets of information that prevent smooth collaboration. This cloud-based ERP platform helps simplify processes, centralize data across business units, and support omni-channel growth across Indonesia.

鈥淲e鈥檝e grown rapidly, and we knew we needed systems that could keep up. 麻豆原创 gives us the tools to run more efficiently, scale faster, and serve our customers better,鈥 said Renaldi Tjahaya, Chief Information Officer, Kawan Lama Group.

The implementation is already helping teams access real-time inventory across outlets鈥攈elping staff fulfill customer needs faster, even when products aren鈥檛 displayed on the shelf. Previously, customers were told to wait days due to lack of backend visibility鈥攅ven when items were in stock.

Kawan Lama also plans to strengthen its supply chain and manufacturing lines. By digitizing key retail and production processes, the group will improve forecasting, reduce stock-outs, and introduce smarter promotional strategies to drive customer loyalty and repeat visits.

鈥淜awan Lama鈥檚 transformation through RISE with 麻豆原创 marks a pivotal step in their evolution toward becoming an intelligent, future-ready enterprise,鈥 said Andreas Diantoro, Managing Director, 麻豆原创 Indonesia. 鈥淏y embracing this comprehensive solution, they streamline operations, enhancing agility, and gaining the insights needed to innovate and stay customer focused. This strategic move positions Kawan Lama to lead confidently in a rapidly changing retail landscape.鈥

Terumo Asia Holdings (Terumo) was recently announced as a winner of the 2021 麻豆原创 Best Run Awards for South East Asia (SEA), together with other leading regional organisations; namely NUHS, SATS, and DKSH Corporate Shared Services Center which had demonstrated success and embodied excellence across different award categories.

In a recent press release, 听麻豆原创 said that the听听continue to celebrate leading organisations in SEA that have emphasised new ways of thinking, adapted to the new norms and deployed technologies that set the benchmark for their industry to drive successful business transformation in today鈥檚 digital economy.

Terumo had demonstrated an enterprising mindset and bagged the听Emerging Frontier Market Award, said the press release.

Benoit De Saeger, Regional Director, Terumo Asia Holdings said: 鈥淭erumo is a global leader in medical technology, contributing to society through healthcare for 100 years. In Asia, our claims processes were manual and expense management systems fragmented. All of this made consolidating data and analytics across regional headquarters and nine Asia Pacific entities a huge challenge.鈥

鈥淲e solved this by implementing 麻豆原创 Concur across Terumo Asia to align policies, processes and systems. With 麻豆原创 Concur, we standardised regional processes and T&E policies while enhancing compliance and controls. 100% of our claims went online, with claim approval time reduced drastically, thus improving our employees鈥 experience. This digital leap has ensured Terumo鈥檚 scalability, better compliance and competitive edge,鈥 added De Saeger.

Meanwhile, the Most Transformational Award听went to听National University Health System (NUHS).听Priscilla Teo, Group Chief HR Officer, NUHS said: 鈥淣UHS inherited two legacy HR systems when Singapore re-clustered the healthcare services in 2017 which made business processes tedious and cumbersome.

Despite strict government security regulations and limited web access on the office network, we successfully pivoted to a cloud-based SaaS solution on 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors, making it the first cloud based HRIS implementation in Singapore鈥檚 public health care sector.

This implementation provided NUHS 15,000 employees 24/7 access to HR related information via a single mobile app called myHR mobile, and within the first month of go-live, over 90% of the employees have logged in, with a whopping 85% activation rate.鈥

SATS听won the inaugural听Most Adaptable Award.听Manfred Seah, Chief Financial Officer,听SATS said, 鈥淎t SATS, we have grown and evolved over the years with largely disparate and non-standardised processes.

For better efficiency, we needed good data visibility to improve our cost capture and profit analysis to build an agile and yet robust system landscape.

With 麻豆原创 S/4 HANA as the digital core, SATS adopted standard 麻豆原创 functionalities to uplift capabilities allowing SATS to pivot and scale.鈥

What Businesses Can Learn from Ecosystems That Thrive in the Darkest Corners on Earth /sea/2022/06/what-businesses-can-learn-from-ecosystems-that-thrive-in-the-darkest-corners-on-earth/ Tue, 21 Jun 2022 01:03:38 +0000 /sea/?p=2969 What can businesses, sometimes facing inhospitable conditions of their own above sea level, learn from the enterprising plants and animals whose habitat eludes visibility?

The post What Businesses Can Learn from Ecosystems That Thrive in the Darkest Corners on Earth appeared first on 麻豆原创 Southeast Asia News Center.

]]>
As a boating enthusiast and scuba diver, I find peace whenever I return to the solitude of the sea. Whatever concerns occupy my mind while on land seem to dissipate into the endlessness of its calming waves. Yet experienced sailors and swimmers understand that, for all its allure, water holds just as much potential for turbulence as it does for tranquility.

Consider the听听by scientists of Sir Ernest Shackleton鈥檚听Endurance, which sank off the Antarctic coast in 1915. Fortunately for the explorer and his crew of 27, all managed to survive. As for the shipwreck, scientists found it remarkably intact amid the frigid depths of Earth鈥檚 southernmost seas. But the photographs capture one significant change with the passage of time: the sunken vessel, like the craggy ocean floor surrounding it, now teems with life. At a depth exceeding 3,000 meters, triple the distance sunlight can听听underwater, how do ecosystems manage to thrive? And what can businesses, sometimes facing inhospitable conditions of their own above sea level, learn from the enterprising plants and animals whose habitat eludes visibility?

To run at their best, businesses carry out multiple operational processes simultaneously, maximizing efficiency and minimizing risk across them all. So too the complex networks of flora and fauna undersea. A lack of visibility presents challenges not only for aquatic ecosystems but for commercial ones as well, in the latter instance imperiling critical functions such as procurement and supply chain, logistics, and the maintenance of equipment connected by the Internet of Things (IoT). Business leaders increasingly look to the cloud for digital solutions to enhance visibility across all these functions. But they鈥檙e equally wise to gaze seaward as well for insights on instilling resilience. Disruption, after all, can leave wreckage at the bottom of an income statement just as it can at the bottom of an ocean.

At a time when听viral variants, recurrent lockdowns, and geopolitical tensions continue to roil supply chains and labor markets, businesses require 360-degree visibility across the interconnected operations of trading partners and solution providers to maintain continuity, foster collaboration, and keep promises made to customers. Yet many procurement and supply chain professionals possess only fragmentary information about isolated business processes, unable to gain a comprehensive view across the four walls of their organization, let alone those of their buyers and suppliers. Integrated digital platforms, however, lend businesses the expansive view and data-driven insights they need to anticipate rapid shifts in supply and demand and suggest available alternatives for the sourcing of raw materials and indirect goods.

Yet while cloud-based business networks are a contemporary innovation to extend visibility where it runs scarce, they are hardly without precedent. Deep-sea creatures have evolved their own ingenious techniques for sharpening their acuity to procure food. Consider the Pacific barreleye, whose translucent head enables the fish to听听in total darkness while stalking its next meal. Or the stout blacksmelt, whose oversized eyes听听from its otherwise modest frame. Or the scallop, whose 200 eyes peer behind mirror-like lenses, focusing in unison to听听the tiniest trace of light undiscernible to animals further down the food chain.

Back above the surface, businesses lie vulnerable to disruption even when supply chain visibility remains intact. When finished goods pile up in logjammed seaports, for example, manufacturers can offer little solace to customers denied on-time shipments. To ensure prompt delivery via sea, road, rail, or air, businesses require unimpeded visibility across all facets of logistics. They rely on cloud-based networks to track shipments in real time, collaborate with transportation partners, and secure alternatives when unforeseen contingencies thwart the best laid plans.

Here too, lessons emerge from the deep. Spanning distances exceeding anything comparable on land, the ocean organizes logistics through vast networks known collectively as the听. Life-sustaining elements, such as carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus, flow from the surface to the ocean floor and back again through intricate cycles of photosynthesis, decomposition, consumption, and sedimentation. The biological pump is also responsible for sending to the bottom of the sea much of the Earth鈥檚 excess carbon dioxide, which, if released, would oversaturate its atmosphere and overheat its surface. Through the resilient, never-ending exchange of resources essential to life both within and beyond its depths, the ocean maintains arguably the most elaborate logistical network ever devised.

Cloud-based business platforms operate on a planet-wide scale with unrivaled efficiency, too. Not only do they facilitate procurement, supply chains, and logistics between businesses and their trading partners, but in recent years they have begun to connect remote assets through the Internet of Things. This cloud-based capability, often called asset intelligence, has revolutionized the maintenance of equipment.

Suppose a utility operates a windmill farm offshore. All of the units require physical upkeep but accessing them can prove costly and dangerous. It can also prove futile if the windmill happens to be in perfect working order. But by linking together far-flung equipment virtually, businesses听听digital twins 鈥 in lieu of natural eyesight 鈥 to inspect these assets from afar. Such cloud-based asset intelligence networks aid the operations not only of energy companies, but of rural health clinics, security firms, and even soft drink purveyors. Think of all the distributed vending machines requiring replenishment.

But how, devoid of light, do the creepiest, crawliest critters inhabiting the deep sea manage to ascertain their surroundings? How do they gather reliable, actionable intelligence on 鈥渁sset鈥 and threat, friend and foe, near and far? Consider the tripod fish, which elegantly听听atop narrow, leg-like fins, poised to sense distant vibrations from potential prey. The beaked whale, meanwhile,听听echolocation, not unlike bats and submarines. By emitting short, high-frequency clicking sounds and waiting for them to bounce back, these mammals develop an acute awareness of their surroundings, often to the peril of less sensitive beasts who become breakfast. The vampire squid, meanwhile,听听bioluminescent fluid to lure hungry, if unsuspecting, targets. For their part, sharks and stingrays听听electric currents to map their surroundings and navigate using the Earth鈥檚 magnetic field.

As the听Endurance听shipwreck-turned-aquarium makes vivid, the abyss of the icy sea imposes formidable obstacles to survival in an environment prone to volatility and unforgiving to the unadaptable. Yet nature has innovated surprisingly durable solutions for illuminating the fundamental biological processes that nourish sprawling ecosystems undersea. The cloud does much the same for networks of businesses engaged in commerce amid drier, if similarly disruptive, conditions. In fact, the cloud and the ocean are beginning to converge on an increasingly sustainable future for all the Earth鈥檚 inhabitants. The visibility made possible by cloud-based networks holds the potential to听significantly reduce听the volume of plastics cluttering the sea and encumbering the creatures great and small who call it home. As digital technologies give rise to sustainable solutions, resilient ecosystems thrive even in the darkest corners on Earth.

The post Five Tech Trends That Will Shape PH Businesses in 2022 appeared first on 麻豆原创 Southeast Asia News Center.

]]>
Over the last two years, organizations of different sizes and industries have realized, even more, the critical role technology and innovation play in business and society. The latest developments in technology provided more ways to ensure more connected enterprises, enabling them to survive and thrive amid the 鈥榥ever normal.鈥

However, these advancements in technology have just begun. As organizations prepare for the post-pandemic world, technologies that have been introduced in recent years are expected to continue evolving. The latest advances will also further transform how people interact and work.

Here are the tech trends that businesses need to look out for this 2022 as listed by 麻豆原创 SE (NYSE: 麻豆原创).

Embracing Digital Transformation

Since the pandemic started, the speed at which digital transformation is fundamentally changing the business landscape has dramatically increased. The developments that could have happened in a decade or so were made possible overnight in many industries.

In the Philippines, the digital sector contributes significantly to its economy. This reality indicates that organizations in the private and public sectors will continue strengthening their digital transformation initiatives. Backed by strong government support, these transformations can unlock PhP5 trillion worth of economic value by 2030, according to a recent AlphaBeta and Google report.

Nurturing Sustainability

Nowadays, embracing sustainability has become an integral part of organizations, with business leaders considering it a strategic priority. Aside from top and bottom-line, forward-looking organizations add sustainability and even purpose as dimensions to driving business success.

Among these organizations is Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC). As a leading infrastructure investment company, MPIC commits to contribute to the achievement of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9, which seeks to 鈥榖uild resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.鈥

Recently, MPIC strengthened its digital core as it embraced cloud solutions that can help consolidate, modernize, and standardize its enterprise resource (ERP) systems on a single platform. The integration into the cloud is part of the group鈥檚 sustainability philosophy of integrating business and environmental stewardship into their investment strategies. It helps improve its operations and augment sustainability initiatives, especially since 麻豆原创, MPIC鈥檚 technology partner, embeds sustainability into its core business processes.

Meanwhile, consumers are making apparent shifts to more sustainable products and services. According to a Kantar report, 75 percent of Filipino consumers seek out brands that offer ways to alleviate impacts to the environment. Even employees now make career choices based on their employer鈥檚 responsibility towards the planet. Thus, it is now even more integral to invest in innovation that considers environmental welfare while fostering economic and social development.

Integrating Decision Intelligence, Hyperautomation

In the Philippines, the Department of Trade and Industry noted that Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption can increase the country鈥檚 gross domestic product (GDP) by 12 percent or equivalent to $92 billion by 2030.

Digital tools like AI, including augmented analytics and simulations, make 鈥淒ecision Intelligence鈥 a realistic approach to improve organizational decision-making. Each choice or decision in such a system result from multiple process iterations, refined with the help of analytics and data intelligence. With these digital tools, decision intelligence may support and enhance human decision-making and potentially automate it, hence augmenting organizational processes to be more efficient.

Meanwhile, scalability, remote operation, and business model disruption are also becoming possible with the use of Hyper-automation. Before the pandemic, businesses have been automating many processes through technologies like Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This trend will continue to grow for automating business and IT activities using a disciplined, business-driven approach.

Rising Low-Code, No-Code Tech

As content creation becomes even more relevant, graphic and website designs have been streamlined so users can simply 鈥渄rag鈥 and 鈥渄rop鈥 elements to create engaging content. This trend will extend to no-code AI, where users can create systems by simply 鈥渄ragging鈥 and 鈥渄ropping鈥 ready-made modules, removing the 鈥減rogramming language鈥 barrier through simple interfaces. Consequently, it will allow users to create complex and robust AI systems.

Ensuring Total Experience (TX)

Due to the pandemic, organizations needed to have an excellent Total Experience (TX) strategy or a holistic program that combines customer, user, and employee experiences. With this strategy in place, organizations can help enhance customer satisfaction and employee productivity.

Organizations need to focus on weaving in these experiences instead of working on them individually to help ensure that they will be more satisfied as teams that work as an integrated unit. This trend is expected to continue as businesses eliminate communication and process silos and emphasize providing unified experiences to their employees remotely working while interacting with customers.

Collaborating with a Technology Partner

As these trends arise, organizations need a technology partner to help them achieve their business goals this year and beyond. For 麻豆原创, embracing technology means ensuring that the organization becomes an intelligent enterprise.

As a technology partner for businesses in the country, 麻豆原创 helps make it easier by offering solutions like Rise with 麻豆原创, an intelligent enterprise framework to help kickstart businesses鈥 digital transformation journey. Retailers need to recalibrate their digital transformation strategies in the 鈥渘ever normal鈥 scenario of the continuing pandemic.

麻豆原创 Industry Business Architect 鈥 Retail and Consumer Products Gabriel Lorenzo Santos underscored this need in a recent virtual event, 鈥楻etail Reimagined: How Technology Changes the Game of Retail in 2022,鈥 hosted by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) and co-presented by 麻豆原创 Southeast Asia.

Already, the pandemic changed the way consumers behave.
Last year, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) noted an increase in spending on various categories, such as food and non-alcoholic beverages, restaurants and hotels, furnishings, and household equipment for work-from-home setups even clothing and footwear.

A recent study by Visa also revealed that nine out of 10 Filipinos increased their digital shopping activities and are now using online delivery services.

Meanwhile, 73 percent of 1,014 respondents have adopted more contactless payments.

In addition, Filipinos are now more conscious of sustainable and socially responsible commodities.
Hence, retailers should identify gaps that need to be addressed, whether they are in product availability, delivery, or logistics.

Businesses should know what an intelligent and agile enterprise looks like to help identify these gaps.

鈥淎n intelligent enterprise starts with having insights on processes that need improvement, automation, and innovation, coupled with cross-application analytics, delivering new dimensions of real-time and predictive insight and foresight,鈥 Santos pointed out.

At the heart of this strategy is an intelligent suite of applications providing core end-to-end processes and helping businesses manage every part of the organization, such as finance, employees, customers, services, and even IT.

For 麻豆原创, integrating industry-specific cloud applications must be part of the strategy to enrich business processes, specifically for retail.

The intelligent suite and industry cloud can be enveloped by experience and sustainability management solutions to help ensure that retailers hear their customers and adhere to their sustainability goals.

These solutions run on a scalable business technology platform, serving as the standard architecture for analytics development and data storage, allowing enterprises to innovate much faster.

Finally, the business network takes this strategy outside the four walls of enterprises, allowing companies to collaborate with trading partners to drive connected processes and experiences.

Some companies remain hesitant in integrating new technologies since acquiring them for a specific process is already troublesome, making it challenging to involve the entire enterprise.

To address this problem, 麻豆原创 offers RISE with 麻豆原创, a Business Transformation as a Service (BTaaS) offering that consolidates solutions and services needed for business transformation in one package.

Nowadays, companies that thrive are those that adapt quickly.

However, true transformation takes changing an organizations鈥 culture and shifting its mindset.

It requires redesigning business plans and processes and demands new technologies that unlock new ways of running a retail business.

Leveraging technology can help bridge the gap to ensure a seamless experience despite changing demands and buying behaviors, improving the topline and bottom line.

鈥淎cross our customers, benefits have been reaped with the use of technology, such as improved customer satisfaction, reduced days in inventory, reduced customer churn, and even increased digital channel revenue, which are relevant in today鈥檚 situation,鈥 he concluded.

麻豆原创 Malaysia鈥檚 Deep Alignment with 12MP

Meanwhile, Hong said that 麻豆原创鈥檚 mission in Malaysia is deeply aligned with the sustainability goal outlined within the 12th Malaysian Plan (or 鈥12MP鈥). Under the 12MP, the goal is for Malaysia to become carbon-neutral as early as 2050, with carbon pricing and carbon tax to be introduced.
