Following the release of the company鈥檚 global earnings on January 28, 麻豆原创 has announced a range of new customers and go-lives showcasing innovative uses for cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

Commenting on the customer momentum, President of 麻豆原创 Asia Pacific and Japan, Paul Marriott, said, 鈥2024 was the year that artificial intelligence moved from hype to reality for 麻豆原创 customers across Asia Pacific and Japan. This will only accelerate in 2025, as we target a total of 400 embedded AI use cases which will boost productivity by up to 30% for the top personas in our applications. This level of adoption underlines the value organisations across Asia are realising from Business AI right now.鈥

Q4 also saw continued evidence of cloud momentum across Asia Pacific and Japan, with a range of go-lives and new customers.

In fact, the APJ market is expected to grow to more than US$28 billion in the next five years. Value from Business AI

Continued momentum in cloud transformation

92% of Asia Pacific and Japan midmarket businesses say adopting generative AI is a top business priority

Singapore, 18 September 2024 鈥 Successful Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) midmarket organisations are more likely to prioritise generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) than those who are seeing lower revenue growth 鈥 and they are adopting new AI innovations in every corner of their business.

A recent study of 12,003 businesses by 麻豆原创 found APJ , defined as companies with between 250 and 1,500 employees, with high revenue growth[1] are more likely to put a moderate or strong priority on the adoption of Gen AI (94%) than those with lower revenue growth (86%).

鈥淏usiness AI is the biggest technology opportunity of the 21st century for businesses in Asia Pacific and Japan,鈥 said Utkarsh Maheshwari, Chief Partner Officer and Head of MidMarket, 麻豆原创 Asia Pacific & Japan.

鈥淏ut the benefits of Business AI are not restricted to large enterprises. Organisations of every size can realise the opportunities that relevant, reliable, and responsible AI can provide. That isn鈥檛 just image generation or making videos. It鈥檚 automating everyday pain points, providing great insights quickly, and reliably solving simple business problems.鈥

Adopting AI is a top organisational priority in APJ

The study, which surveyed 3,400 people in five APJ markets, found use of artificial intelligence is a top organisational priority for midmarket businesses.

Adopting standard business applications of AI like machine learning for data analysis and predictive analytics and adopting Gen AI are top organisational priorities across APJ (92% moderate and high priority). Other key priorities include cybersecurity threats and addressing gaps in supply chains (all 92%).

Importantly, improving or expanding supplier and partner networks (43%) is the top priority for achieving growth. Yet, artificial intelligence is seen as a priority to transform organisational processes in every corner of the business.

Over half of APJ midmarket organisations surveyed place a high priority on AI to transform their data security and privacy (52%), and to drive accurate decision-making (50%). Other key areas AI can transform include creating new business models (48%), improving customer experience (48%), enhancing training and skills (48%), and optimising supply chains (47%).

AI is creating value for APJ businesses today

But AI isn鈥檛 just being planned to achieve future benefits. It is being implemented today.

AI is already in use to a moderate or strong degree in midmarket APJ businesses to create marketing and sales content, gathering market intelligence, app development and testing, and for customer or vendor interactions (all 83%).

鈥淎I is not new. In fact, we鈥檝e been using it for decades,鈥 continued Maheshwari. 鈥淢ore than 27,000 customers are already using 麻豆原创 Business AI today, including thousands across Asia Pacific and Japan. We鈥檝e released more than 70 Generative AI use cases in the past year, already infused across our platforms and solutions, and we expect more than 100 use cases to be available by the end of 2024, which means that 80% of the most-commonly used scenarios will be AI enabled. The time to explore the benefits of Business AI is now.鈥

APJ midmarket businesses see data as key risk to growth 鈥 and AI adoption

Yet challenges remain to drive growth in APJ midmarket businesses.

Respondents noted lack of quality data (37%) and lack of integration between systems (33%) as key internal challenges to growth, alongside issues with supply chains (40%) and siloes in their business (33%).

And data is also cited as an organisational risk when it comes to AI. Midmarket businesses in APJ said the biggest risks to their company from AI were acting upon incorrect information (36%), finding and retaining talent (34%), lack of transparency in results (34%) and insufficient data size and quality (31%).

Singapore, July 25 鈥 麻豆原创 announced its global Q2 2024 results on July 23, 2024, reporting cloud revenue increased 25% in the quarter as demand for AI drives cloud growth.

  • Cloud revenue in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) grew to 鈧566M in Q2 2024, an increase of 38% over same period 2023 at constant currency, with India and Korea showing particular momentum. Globally, 麻豆原创鈥檚 cloud revenue was up 25% at constant currency, with cloud backlog up 28% at constant currency.

Generative AI hub in 麻豆原创 AI Core integrates with foundation models in Amazon Bedrock to deliver generative AI-driven insights and streamline manual processes for enterprise customers

With the integration of generative AI models from Amazon Bedrock such as the Anthropic Claude 3 model family and Amazon Titan, 麻豆原创 customers will be able to access high-performing LLMs and other foundation models (FMs) to build applications customized with their own data. Tens of thousands of customers use Amazon Bedrock to easily, quickly and securely build and scale generative AI applications using FMs from leading AI companies such as AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Mistral AI, Stability AI and Amazon.

With this integration, 麻豆原创 customers may accelerate the adoption of generative AI and modernize key business processes built on 麻豆原创 solutions. 麻豆原创鈥檚 use of AWS Graviton3 chips to support 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud helps to deliver performance gains, cost savings and energy efficiency to 麻豆原创. By using Graviton3-based Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances, 麻豆原创 has realized up to 30% better compute for analytical workloads and an estimated 45% reduction in carbon footprint for 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud. Now 麻豆原创 and AWS are collaborating on the next generation of Graviton4 for 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud and additional 麻豆原创 applications to continue to improve performance and efficiency. Based on the success of running 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud on AWS Graviton, 麻豆原创 plans to use AWS Graviton to support 麻豆原创 solutions and applications such as 麻豆原创 BTP, 麻豆原创 Datasphere, 麻豆原创 Analytics Cloud and the 麻豆原创 Cloud ALM solution.

麻豆原创 plans to use and chips, purpose built for AI and machine learning (ML) workloads, for training and deploying future 麻豆原创 Business AI offerings. Using Trainium and Inferentia2-based instances in a proof of concept, 麻豆原创 engineers trained and fine-tuned generative AI LLMs in two days versus 23 days with comparable Amazon EC2 instances. By leveraging Trainium鈥檚 specialized architecture designed for efficient ML model training, 麻豆原创 can accelerate the development process while maintaining high levels of accuracy and reliability.

Increased Performance for RISE with 麻豆原创 on AWS

Thousands of customers have selected RISE with 麻豆原创 on AWS to run their largest, most complex, global 麻豆原创 solution implementations. Now generally available, the next-generation Amazon EC2 High Memory U7i instances offer up to 32TiB of memory in a single instance and provide customers the memory and flexibility they need to support expanding 麻豆原创 HANA database requirements. Amazon EC2 High Memory U7i instances are the first DDR5 memory-based 8-socket offering by a leading cloud provider to improve the performance of memory-intensive applications such as 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud as part of RISE with 麻豆原创.

Singapore, April 23 鈥 麻豆原创 announced its global 2024 results on April 22, showcasing cloud momentum in every market.

Customers across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) are choosing 麻豆原创 to drive their cloud transformations. 麻豆原创 reported several high-profile customer wins and go-lives across APJ, showing ongoing demand for cloud-based transformation and supporting the company鈥檚 strength in cloud revenue and backlog.

  • Q1 cloud revenue in APJ increased to 鈧524 million, up 35% at constant currencies.
  • Globally recognised businesses are choosing 麻豆原创, including Fujitsu Limited, SK E&S, and LTIMindtree.
  • RISE with 麻豆原创 continues to support APJ companies in their cloud transformation. New RISE with 麻豆原创 wins and go-lives in Q1 include SinarMas, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Havells India, and PharmaGendGlobal Medical Services.

Cloud revenue in APJ grew to 鈧524M Euros in Q1 2024, an increase of 35% over same period 2023 at constant currency, with India and Korea showing particular momentum. Total APJ Q1 2024 revenue grew to 1.107B Euros. Globally, 麻豆原创鈥檚 cloud revenue was up 9% at constant currency, with cloud backlog up 28% at constant currency.

Customers are choosing 麻豆原创 for their cloud transformation in across APJ. In Japan, Fujitsu Limited and Sumitomo Heavy Industries chose RISE with 麻豆原创 to empower their future, as did leading renewable energy company SK E&S in Korea. Southeast Asian businesses like SinarMas and PharmaGendGlobal Medical Services, and Indian businesses like LTIMindtree and electrical equipment leader Havells India all bought or went live with RISE with 麻豆原创.

Small and medium businesses are also benefiting from 麻豆原创 cloud transformations. In Australia, semi-trailer manufacturer MaxiTRANS bought GROW with 麻豆原创, and Indonesian resources company PT Hanwha Mining Services went live with the same solution. Innovative Australian financial services company Avenue Bank chose RISE with 麻豆原创 and 麻豆原创 Fioneer Cloud for Banking.

Following one of the biggest mergers in recent Indian history, LTIMindtree wanted to simplify its IT framework to drive smart, scalable, and secure technology services. The project is expected to drive efficiencies including a 70% reduction in financial refresh times and approximately 30% reduction in reporting times.

In collaboration with 麻豆原创 and Indigenous Defence and Infrastructure Consortium, Fujitsu streamlines its procurement process to more effectively drive sustainable initiatives.

Melbourne, Australia, 12 March,听2024听鈥听, a global digital transformation company has implemented 麻豆原创 Ariba, transforming its procurement function and enabling it to successfully channel spend towards its First Nations suppliers, which has increased from $200,000 to over $5.1 million over the last few years.

Fujitsu has over 3,000 employees across Australia and New Zealand whose purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. Previously, Fujitsu鈥檚 procurement process was decentralised, creating limited visibility of its supply chain which led to challenges when it came to channeling spend to their First Nations partners.

The company sought a platform that would enable it to establish a single source of truth for all company spend and associated data. It aimed to allow employees and managers to make more informed decisions, while at the same time make it easier for staff to drive forward business strategies and initiatives with purpose 鈥 including empowering and supporting First Nations businesses.

Fujitsu selected 麻豆原创 Ariba Guided Buying Platform to create a more inclusive and diverse supply chain, collaborating with the听, which develops sustainable Indigenous businesses across Australia. Together, they worked to create a First Nations Supplier portal which provides a dedicated buying channel for its First Nations suppliers. Since launching the portal, the company has not only increased its spend with First Nations suppliers to $5.1 million but has also increased its spend to $12.5 million per annum with its SME partners.

Furthermore, by implementing 麻豆原创 Ariba, Fujitsu has automated and streamlined its procurement processes, establishing a standardised hub for end-to-end procurement activities. It has reduced new vendor processing time by over 65%, freeing-up staff to focus on more strategic tasks. Additionally, the establishment of a central contract repository has led to over 2,000 active contract workspaces, with 30% of contracts operationalised for downstream procure to pay.
