Humanizing business software and making innovation real

Headquartered in Itabera铆, Goi谩s, S茫o Salvador Alimentos S.A. (SSA) is one of Brazil鈥檚 leading food companies. Its brands such as SuperFrango and Boua offer a wide portfolio of fresh and processed poultry as well as other meat, egg, and dairy products, fish, and frozen foods. The company’s products are exported to dozens of countries worldwide.

While SSA has built a reputation for quality and innovation in the food industry, one of its internal processes,听the management of PPE delivery,听still relied on manual paperwork. After successfully implementing 麻豆原创 S/4HANA in 2024, the company continued its journey with 麻豆原创. The company started to collaborate with the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team to explore opportunities with 麻豆原创 Build and Cloud Foundry.

The point of departure was that every day around 150 physical signatures had to be collected to confirm that PPE had been delivered to employees. These signed documents were then handed over to the archive team for manual scanning and storage. There was no digital record of which equipment was delivered, to whom, or when. As a result, it was impossible to track usage or send timely reminders for mandatory PPE replacements every six months.

Innovation along the human-centered approach

In dedicated workshops, SSA stakeholders and users analyzed the situation along 麻豆原创鈥檚 human-centered approach to innovation. They explored new ways to improve and redesign this process with 麻豆原创 Build and Cloud Foundry. After some iterations and testing, the new solution was implemented in January 2026.

SSA employees can now use digital signature capture linked to an automatic tracking of what was delivered and when. Via automated WhatsApp reminders, they learn听when it鈥檚 time to replace their equipment, thus ensuring compliance,听efficiency, and more visibility to the warehouse.

This new process has already shown the following benefits:

  • From 150 manual signatures to electronic signatures using digital authentication
  • 100% elimination of paper in the process
  • Simplified service and an easy-to-understand and intuitive app
  • Higher visibility to the warehouse
  • Reporting capabilities available
  • Better cost management
  • Regulated issuance and compliant PPE distribution

Customer voices

“With the implementation of the new PPE issuance and tracking app, our department has achieved significant benefits through a transformation focused on modernization, agility, and process efficiency. The new solution introduced electronic signatures through digital biometrics, eliminating the need for paper-based documentation and making the process more sustainable and secure. In addition, we experienced a substantial reduction in service time, providing greater agility in day-to-day operations. The new application was developed with an intuitive and user-friendly interface, making it easy for all users to adopt and utilize. The service and PPE issuance process was streamlined, reducing complexity and making each step faster and less bureaucratic. Another important enhancement is the availability of reporting capabilities, enabling more effective information management, including cost control, issuance tracking, and monitoring PPE consumption and distribution volumes.”

Paula Borges, SESMT Coordinator at SSA

“The solution implements a fully digital workflow for PPE loan management, integrating applications, biometric validation, and automated ERP posting, ensuring end-to-end traceability and data consistency. From a technical perspective, the solution leverages biometric authentication combined with validation processes and digital document generation, resulting in a secure, high-performance architecture aligned with information security best practices.”

– Danilo Ferreira Adorno, IT Development Manager at SSA

Implementation

Although the implementation also had to integrate external applications via specific application programming interfaces (APIs), the new solution went live in January 2026. Based on previous innovation projects and its experience with 麻豆原创, the customer team was able to act mostly independently. Typical questions mostly referred to best practices for integration.

Innovation journey and outlook

鈥淲hat truly stood out was the SSA team鈥檚 remarkable maturity, fast learning mindset, and determination,鈥 Mirela Viersa, customer innovation principal at 麻豆原创 AppHaus, said. 鈥淔ollowing our exploration workshop, where we identified the key challenge, we partnered closely to design their future journey鈥攖urning vision into a structured and actionable path forward.鈥

After this latest successful implementation project with 麻豆原创, SSA plans to use 麻豆原创 Build for future developments as their single source for development, especially now with 麻豆原创 Build Code. And based on this confidence and proven enablement, the SSA team plans to look into opportunities that 麻豆原创 Business AI and other intelligent solutions might hold in stock for them.

After months of renovation and designing the new creative space together with architects and facility management, the new 麻豆原创 AppHaus Walldorf opened its doors for 麻豆原创 employees in the region. It is an important milestone towards an outstanding, integrated customer experience on the Walldorf campus. The opening started with a fireside chat with 脕lvaro Wiedling, head of Customer Engagement Services MEE; Andreas Wendel, head of 麻豆原创 Innovation Experience Services; Dennis Kecskemeti, head of 麻豆原创 Innovation Experience; and moderated by Kathrin Tarnai-Sindl, head of Customer Engagements for APAC, EMEA, and MEE.

Visitors such as Dirk Haeussermann, managing director 麻豆原创 Germany, joined the event to get first impressions of the new space: 鈥淭he new 麻豆原创 AppHaus Walldorf is a very friendly and inviting collaboration space that is a perfect setup for our customers and partners to explore the newest innovations. It inspires them to move on into real, live solutions.鈥

The opening celebration

For the opening, the team decided to not cut a red ribbon, but tell a little story. After uncovering an old Chinese gong, Kecskemeti officially opened the new 麻豆原创 AppHaus Walldorf with a loud and clear gong stroke. He explained that the gong was one of the signature pieces from the previous creative space in Heidelberg. There, it had a classic, traditional Chinese design and its sound was used during many workshops, meeting breaks, and events. When the team prepared the move from Heidelberg, it was immediately clear that the gong had to be taken to Walldorf. It went through its own small transformation, being redesigned and given a modern look to perfectly fit into the new space. When its deep sound was heard in the new 麻豆原创 AppHaus Walldorf environment it was a worthy setting to start the new chapter in its new home.

From now on, the gong will be an integral part of 麻豆原创 AppHaus Walldorf, where the team continues to run innovation workshops. Together with 麻豆原创 customers and partners, it is all about framing the right business problems, turning insights into blueprints, and piloting ideas fast. This is especially relevant for AI solutions and the business opportunities brought about by agentic AI. This helps ensure that the use cases we identify and solutions we design have genuine business relevance and real-world applicability鈥攗ltimately delivering outcomes that matter to our customers.鈥

The work with customers

At the heart of what the 麻豆原创 AppHaus offers are three core services: innovation service, explore service, and design service. Depending on the customer鈥檚 needs, these can be extended, for example, with different workshop formats, such as for 麻豆原创 Business AI, 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP), or Joule. In a networked way, customers also get direct access to product experts who are involved where they add the most value.

New beginnings

鈥淔or many people, the 麻豆原创 AppHaus Heidelberg was more than just a workplace or a workshop location. It felt like working in a startup environment to build and design new solutions together with customers and partners. So, there clearly is a nostalgic look back on shared memories,鈥 Tarnai-Sindl says. 鈥淎t the same time, the campus in Walldorf brings new energy and opportunities. You feel more strongly that you鈥檙e part of a bigger whole and have the chance to meet and connect with many colleagues and people more easily. It鈥檚 a move from a very familiar environment into a larger context, with a sense of new beginnings.鈥

These partners are front-runners of the human-centered approach to innovation, exploring and designing solutions with and for customers built with latest 麻豆原创 technologies such as 麻豆原创 Business AI.

麻豆原创 AppHaus Network: a community of like-minded partners

It鈥檚 all about openness, collaboration, and storytelling

During a fireside chat, Dennis Kecskemeti, head of 麻豆原创 Innovation Experience, Paul Saunders, head of 麻豆原创 Customer Outcomes & Advocacy, and Andreas Wendel, head of Innovation Experience Services, answered questions asked by moderator and head of Customer Engagement Services MEE, EMEA, and APAC Kathrin Tarnai-Sindl.

All three guests had brought a personal object with a special connection to 麻豆原创 AppHaus. Interestingly, two brought their mobile phones, but for very different reasons: for one it was the device to listen to audio stories when traveling or commuting, for the other it was a multifunctional gadget to do private calls when traveling, listen to music, and much more. The third guest brought a handball to remind everyone that all good things only work out when teams work together and collaborate. So, their central describing words for 麻豆原创 AppHaus were storytelling, openness, creativity, multifunctionality, and collaboration.

With the new integrated approach, the closer interplay of 麻豆原创 AppHaus, 麻豆原创 Experience Centers, and co-innovation services will provide one continuous experience journey in an end-to-end context. 麻豆原创 AppHaus is where problems are framed and ambition is created in a human-centered, exploratory, and strategic way. 麻豆原创 Experience Centers translate that ambition into tangible value narratives, showcasing what鈥檚 possible with 麻豆原创, 麻豆原创 Business AI, and 麻豆原创 Business Suite. Co-innovation services turn inspiration into execution by piloting, validating, and scaling real solutions with customers and partners. Together, all three form a closed loop from challenge, vision, and experience to solution and impact.

“Each service within 麻豆原创鈥檚 innovation experience is strong on its own. But their real power emerges through connection and collaboration. By bringing 麻豆原创 AppHaus, 麻豆原创 Experience Centers, and co-innovation together, we are shaping a new way for customers and partners to work with 麻豆原创, turning ambition into confidence and inspiration into lasting impact.”

Andreas Wendel, Head of 麻豆原创 Innovation Experience Services

麻豆原创 AppHaus Network members came together in Walldorf

The event agenda offered different working sessions and formats for strategic alignment, exchange on experiences in customer projects, joint marketing efforts, mergers and acquisitions, enablement, and feedback rounds on . On top of that, there was room for networking and excursions. After hours of exchange in discussions, work groups, and sessions, the group of about 30 partner representatives visited the S.Factory, S.Mart, and 麻豆原创 Experience Center. A fun bowling competition, a scavenger hunt across the Walldorf campus, and a quick glimpse at the construction site of the future 麻豆原创 AppHaus Walldorf rounded out the event experience and left the partners with a comprehensive update on all things 麻豆原创 related.

“During this year鈥檚 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network meet-up we focused on shaping our collaboration model for the future, on further improving our co-innovation methods together, and on learning about our different strategic needs and priorities. How Belgian Steel Wire Producer Bekaert Leverages AI with 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors /2025/11/bekaert-leverages-ai-with-sap-successfactors/ Mon, 17 Nov 2025 12:15:00 +0000 /?p=238907 With the help of 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network partner Flexso, Belgian steel wire producer Bekaert created a new AI Master Data Assistant with 麻豆原创 AI Core in 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP), and 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors solutions.

Bekaert aspires to become a people- and data-driven company. This requires a thorough strategic and cultural transformation, in which artificial intelligence plays a crucial role. To get started, the company set priorities, leveraging the already available in its existing HR solutions such as 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors solutions. By focusing on a few embedded AI use cases and creating a stand-alone AI tool on top of that, it started exploring and seeing the AI benefits.

“AI is a means to achieve our goals, a logical extension of our HR strategy,” says Jorn Waterschoot, global head of HR Technology at Bekaert. 鈥淎I’s growing capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and versatility are transforming businesses by enhancing user experiences, enabling experimentation, and encouraging adoption. At Bekaert, these strengths are leveraged in HR while carefully managing hidden costs and focusing on end-to-end implementation to maximize AI鈥檚 potential. At Bekaert, the goal is to make AI feel like a candy store: once employees experience its versatility, they are encouraged to explore it further.鈥

See Bekaert’s AI Master Data Assistant in action

First use case: the AI Master Data Assistant

Together with its long-standing partner and , Bekaert worked along a human-centered approach to innovation to identify opportunities and use cases. One of these identified use cases was a stand-alone AI tool that Bekaert used for HR data improvement. This tool was not integrated in the existing software landscape and required of users to extract and import data.

To improve this laborious process, Flexso helped design and build a custom AI solution, called AI Master Data Assistant, with the help of 麻豆原创 AI Core in 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform. This new solution has been fully integrated with 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors solutions, using 麻豆原创 Integration Suite. Currently, the solution uses a specific AI model from generative AI hub in 麻豆原创 AI Core. However, the flexibility with various models offered through the generative AI hub capability would allow the partner to use another AI model for this solution in the future.

Who benefits from AI in HR at Bekaert?

The AI Master Data Assistant allows the Bekaert HR teams to enhance data quality by automatically identifying, correcting, and preventing errors in employee records. The assistant can detect inconsistencies, duplicates, and missing information, ensuring that all data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. In practice, it means that users can enter natural language prompts to get proposals for improvement. Via chat-like conversations, they can standardize formats, correct errors, and validate entries in real time.

For innovation projects, Bekaert usually rolls out new solutions gradually first through a number of role-specific use cases, then deploy them indiscriminately across the organization. For the new AI Master Data Assistant, the HR business partners and HR admin roles benefitted first.

Flexibility for the future

As part of the global 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network, Flexso always strives for a human-centered and sustainable co-innovation approach with its customers. It is about bringing innovation into the hands of people. David Pierre, AI practice lead at Flexso explains: 鈥淭he AI world is developing so fast. So, the principle in our solution is that we are AI model agnostic. Today, we are using model GPT to support our use case. But if we have a better model in the future, then we can also switch to other models as they are all supported by 麻豆原创 BTP.鈥

Watches of Switzerland Group and Bluestonex Head for the Cloud /2025/08/watches-of-switzerland-group-bluestonex-sap-apphaus-network/ Wed, 06 Aug 2025 11:15:00 +0000 /?p=236352 Based on a long-term relationship with 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network partner , renowned luxury retailer the moved to 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP) in a partner-managed cloud approach to fully enable application development and digital innovation.

麻豆原创 BTP: Unlock the full potential of your AI, data, and applications

With the help of its trusted partner, the Watches of Switzerland Group also set up 麻豆原创 Integration Suite within only two weeks, enabling the company to incorporate insurance offers in their processes.

The Watches of Switzerland Group is a leading luxury watch retailer with a reputation for quality and exclusivity. With operations spanning the UK, U.S., and parts of Europe, its portfolio of brands has been a trusted name in luxury timepieces for decades. As the company expands its business and adapts to new market dynamics, Watches of Switzerland Group is transforming its technology infrastructure to prioritize scalability, efficiency, and streamlined operations across its global presence.

The journey to 麻豆原创 BTP as a partner-managed cloud model

At the beginning of the engagement, the English watch retailer relied on an enterprise architecture including legacy systems such as on-premise 麻豆原创 ECC 6.0 systems and middleware built in-house. Limited IT resources made scaling difficult to meet business demands for faster project delivery and modern integrations.

After purchasing 麻豆原创 BTP credits, the company faced internal skill gaps and competing priorities. Finally, the company wanted to adopt cloud-based technologies while remaining flexible about future ERP decisions, whether transitioning to 麻豆原创 S/4HANA or exploring alternative platforms.

Partnering with Bluestonex

Watches of Switzerland partnered with Bluestonex and transitioned to a 鈥 in this case 麻豆原创 BTP. Under this model, Bluestonex took over responsibility for managing 麻豆原创 BTP credits, resource allocation, and infrastructure support, allowing Watches of Switzerland Group to shift from an internal, self-managed approach to an expertly managed environment, always aligned with the retailer鈥檚 business objectives. Since moving to this model, Watches of Switzerland Group has:

  • Increased 麻豆原创 BTP value: Freed from managing credits and technical configurations, the customer team can focus on business-critical projects
  • Streamlined 麻豆原创 Fiori applications: All 麻豆原创 Fiori apps have been successfully migrated to the cloud, enhancing performance and improving the user experience
  • Strengthened IT resilience: With Bluestonex acting as a strategic partner, Watches of Switzerland has built a foundation to support future growth and innovation
  • Future-proofed infrastructure: The agnostic capabilities of 麻豆原创 BTP ensure that the integration framework remains relevant, regardless of the future ERP platform

Bluestonex Innovation Factory

With the foundational work completed, Watches of Switzerland decided to further expand its adoption of 麻豆原创 BTP services, integrating more business processes and scaling globally. But what were the core business processes? Where was the room or even need for improvement to deliver best-in-class customer services, be successful overall, and remain on top of things in the luxury retail segment?

鈥淭he partnership with Bluestonex is not just about technology,鈥 said Glenn Bamford, head of Business Systems at Watches of Switzerland Group. 鈥淭hey act as an extension of our team, bringing innovation and expertise that we lack internally. With their support, we鈥檝e been able to make strategic moves towards modernizing our systems while remaining agile for the future.鈥

To understand business, user, and customer needs, thorough research can provide reliable answers and a solid foundation for innovation. So, along the , Bluestonex Innovation Factory team organized a user research journey visiting six representative Watches of Switzerland Group showrooms, shadowing employees and observing different processes in the context of purchasing, customer inquiries, deliveries, commissioning, and many more.

After visiting the different showrooms, one observation was that requirements could vary considerably from one to another, simply because of different locations and customer profiles. In some showrooms, it was mainly about selling middle-priced watches and attending several customers at a time; in others, it was about serving one customer with specific needs for a purchase of a very expensive and unique piece.

Incorporating insurance options with the help of 麻豆原创 Integration Suite

Despite all the differences, there is one requirement the researchers observed, that spanned across all customer engagements. That is the wish for an appropriate insurance option for the purchased watch. The Watches of Switzerland Group and Bluestonex decided to realize this integration of an insurance option in its service processes through 麻豆原创 Integration Suite.

In just two weeks, the insurance integration went live as scheduled, allowing the Watches of Switzerland Group to meet crucial business demands without sacrificing quality or functionality. With 麻豆原创 Integration Suite, Watches of Switzerland Group is now positioned to continue modernizing its technology stack in alignment with its strategic vision. This scalable solution can evolve with their future needs, including a potential transition to 麻豆原创 S/4HANA.

鈥淭his project demonstrates the value of Bluestonex as a strategic partner,鈥 Bamford said. 鈥淣ot only did they execute the integration under intense time pressure, but they also provided critical expertise. 麻豆原创 Integration Suite, deployed with Bluestonex鈥檚 support, paves the way for greater flexibility and scalability as we move forward with our digital transformation.鈥

During the annual 麻豆原创 BTP strategy day held in the Bluestonex AppHaus Shropshire, Watches of Switzerland Group identified concrete business objectives and how technology could be harnessed to accomplish these goals, both for them and for Bluestonex as its partner. With the proven hands-on methods to prioritize and align different solutions to these goals the joint team was able to map goals to short-term and medium-term actions.

Looking back, Bluestonex Commercial Director Richard Henry said: 鈥淥ur partnership with Watches of Switzerland was born from our 麻豆原创 AppHaus DNA, as well as the focus on providing value-driven user experience in 麻豆原创 BTP applications. As a niche 麻豆原创 partner, we could provide the right skill set, along a human-centered approach to innovation and support the Watches of Switzerland Group in its digital strategy with 麻豆原创.鈥

After realizing the value of 麻豆原创 Integration Suite, Watches of Switzerland Group and Bluestonex are now looking for further integration projects right across the business. The group鈥檚 flexible and secure cloud-first approach enables it to adapt to changing markets and continue to deliver the best possible customer service.

The way ahead

One area where both teams are equally eager to progress is in artificial intelligence (AI). The Bluestonex team always looks for business use cases that could be improved with the help of capabilities. Also, the Watches of Switzerland Group鈥檚 team is keen to understand how to unlock the use of AI in its organization. Bluestonex showcased several solutions, including its document processes application, which was developed as part of the Next Level Programme in just 10 days, as well as the integration of 麻豆原创鈥檚 generative AI copilot Joule for its flagship product , a data governance tool.

For all the opportunities 麻豆原创 Business AI holds in stock, customer and partner are currently planning for a first to identify use cases that could be improved with the help of AI. As said above, it is all about thorough research and a trustful collaboration to stay future-ready and a leader in luxury retail.

New 麻豆原创 Learning Journey: Discovering High-Value Use Cases for Agentic AI /2025/07/new-sap-learning-journey-agentic-ai-use-cases/ Mon, 21 Jul 2025 11:15:00 +0000 /?p=235953 On July 21, 麻豆原创 will launch a new AI-related learning journey, 鈥,鈥 the next enablement chapter after providing the 麻豆原创 Learning Journey 鈥溾 in November 2024.

Get introduced to a structured and collaborative method to identify high-value agentic use cases

This latest course will enable attendees to facilitate a new Joule Agent Discovery Workshop, guide workshop participants to identify appropriate use cases, and tailor the workshop format to the needs of different audiences.

But what are 麻豆原创 solutions for agentic AI? What do they stand for?

Joule Agents are AI systems that autonomously plan and execute multi-step workflows, collaborating to connect departments, speed up decisions, and streamline processes.

Discovering high-value opportunities for agentic AI

In the format of an 麻豆原创 Expert Lecture, this course introduces participants to the Joule Agent Discovery Workshop, a structured and collaborative method to identify high-value agentic use cases in an organization. Attendees will learn how to inspire and guide participants, prioritize ideas, and describe the selected opportunities in detail. The course also covers how to adapt the workshop to different timeframes, team sizes, and virtual settings. By the end, attendees will be able to guide participants in identifying where AI agents can make the biggest impact and lay the groundwork for their agentic journey.

In detail, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose and structure of the Joule Agent Discovery Workshop and how it can be used to identify high-value agentic use cases
  • Facilitate the workshop exercises, guiding participants from idea generation to prioritization and a detailed description of agentic use cases
  • Adapt the workshop format to different team sizes, virtual environments, and timeframes to fit organizational needs

There are no prerequisites for this course, but experience with 麻豆原创 Design Thinking and workshop facilitation will be helpful. It is a good learning opportunity for a variety of roles such as support consultant, business user, and 麻豆原创 rookie.

The creative mind behind 麻豆原创 AppHaus methods and this learning journey

For many years now, Karen Detken, an expert user experience designer at the 麻豆原创 AppHaus, has worked in customer co-innovation projects and has gotten firsthand experiences and feedback when developing and hosting a variety of workshop formats with different methods and tools. Early on, the team decided to share these best practices and their tools and templates in the openly accessible .

Karen Detken, Expert User Experience Designer at 麻豆原创 AppHaus

When the topic of artificial intelligence arose and 麻豆原创 solutions started to include generative AI and large language models (LLMs) in their solutions, such as 麻豆原创 Business AI, followed by the latest step up with agentic AI, such as Joule Agents, the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team worked with customers on exploring appropriate business use cases to benefit from this very latest in technology. Based on these first experiences, the team started sharing helpful methods, as a co-innovation frontrunner, so that other teams, partners, and customers could drive their own exploration projects involving latest technologies.

For Detken, it is not only about enabling in and applying those technologies: 鈥淣ew technologies are developing very fast and are becoming widely accessible,” she said. “What is important is that we have a very clear picture of why we want to use the technologies. Because technology only has a value when you find the right purpose to use it. Customers and users need to be clear about the outcomes they want to have with that technology. This is the first thing you need to answer before using it. With the methods we provide, we intend to help people first understand what this technology can do for them, for the business, for the people.鈥

This awareness and very conscious use of technology also includes the consideration of responsible and ethical guidelines that every new solution needs to follow (see 麻豆原创鈥檚 principles laid out in the ).

Bringing innovation and technology into the hands of people

The 麻豆原创 AppHaus team gets feedback from many different customer and partner teams. For the team of experienced co-innovation coaches, it is fulfilling to see workshop participants, along with attendees of enablement sessions, understand the new technology better. From this deeper understanding they help participants — along their — start generating ideas related to their business needs. They help them, as Detken puts it, 鈥渢hink of different ways how they can use AI to solve real problems.”

The latest 麻豆原创 Learning Journey for agentic AI is a compilation of helpful exercises to help customers and partners explore and approach this field of technology while discovering meaningful business use cases. In parallel and probably not that obvious at first sight, this new course testifies the openness of the team for novel applications such as using an avatar as speaker. It was built based on video recordings with Detken.

When asked about her view on agentic AI in contrast to generative AI, Detken describes it as follows: 鈥淕enerative AI uses an LLM as a kind of intelligent system or ‘brain.’ The same LLMs are used by an AI agent. The difference is that the agent can not only ‘think’ and use these large language models to generate content or analyze data and make decisions, but it also uses ‘tools’ or other applications to act upon these decisions or make changes autonomously. To put it as an example: with Gen AI, we only had the brain and now it’s the next step, we have the brain and the hands. Maybe in the future, we will have the entire body as well, which would probably be the robots.鈥

What are AI agents?

are听-based applications that make decisions and perform tasks independently with minimal human oversight. Backed by advanced models, agents can decide a course of action and employ multiple software tools to execute. Their ability to reason, plan, and act lets agents tackle a wide range of situations otherwise impractical or impossible to automate with preconfigured rules and logic.

Surgical Product Manufacturer Mizuho OSI Modernized Fixed Asset Management with 麻豆原创 Build /2025/06/mizuho-osi-modernized-fixed-asset-management-sap-build/ Wed, 25 Jun 2025 11:15:00 +0000 /?p=235329 Founded in 1978 in the San Francisco Bay Area, the company originally known as Orthopaedic Systems Inc. (OSI) became part of the Japan-based Mizuho Corporation in 2002. Mizuho OSI has since grown into a market leader in surgical tables. With a focus on innovation and improving surgical outcomes, the manufacturer is known today for its advanced medical technology and specialty surgical solutions.

What is true for its products also holds true for Mizuho OSI鈥檚 internal processes. Striving for operational efficiency, Mizuho OSI sought to modernize its processes. To leverage 麻豆原创鈥檚 low-code capabilities, the company worked with 麻豆原创 AppHaus in 2024. Together, they began exploring automation opportunities using 麻豆原创 Build Process Automation and 麻豆原创 Build Work Zone. During an initial 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP) , Mizuho OSI鈥檚 IT and business teams took a closer look at the manual fixed asset creation process.

Use case: Approving and creating new fixed assets

The workshop uncovered key inefficiencies in the manual purchase acquisition process, particularly its e-mail-driven workflow involving requesters, approvers, and finance accountants. This approach not only introduced a high risk of errors but also slowed down the process significantly. For high-value fixed asset purchases, the need for additional approvers and supporting details further extended the procurement cycle, highlighting the necessity for a more streamlined and automated solution.

Develop apps and automations 3x faster using pro-code, low-code, and generative AI tools

With guidance from 麻豆原创 experts, the joint project team designed a streamlined, automated process for fixed asset approval and creation. 鈥淎s we grow from a mid-sized to a large enterprise, tools like 麻豆原创 Build Process Automation are essential鈥攏ot only for driving process efficiency but also for extending the reach of our lean IT team,鈥 Lindsay Neill, director of Enterprise Application at Mizuho OSI, said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e grateful to 麻豆原创 AppHaus and the 麻豆原创 product team for their guidance throughout the journey鈥攆rom identifying the right use case to providing the technical support needed to bring this proof of concept into production. The new automated process is a major improvement over our previous manual approach. I couldn鈥檛 be happier with the results!鈥

Measured results

After testing and implementing this new solution, both end users and the project team could measure a reduction in manual effort and observe improved process efficiencies, such as:

  • 40% increase in process efficiency from days of pending response to automatic processing
  • 65% reduction in approval time since asset costs below a certain threshold can be automatically processed
  • 70% decrease in manual efforts, with fewer errors and faster decision-making since human intervention is now only required for exceptions

麻豆原创 Build Apps Helped Improve High-Voltage Grid Maintenance in Germany /2025/04/50hertz-improve-grid-maintenance-sap-build-apps/ Fri, 25 Apr 2025 12:15:00 +0000 /?p=233447 50Hertz, part of Elia Group, plays a crucial role in managing the high-voltage grid in the north and east of Germany, covering nearly one-third of the country’s infrastructure. As a transmission system operator, 50Hertz maintains a stable energy supply for the region while actively integrating renewable energy sources to support Germany’s ambitious energy transition plans.

With more than 1,500 employees at 50Hertz alone, the company has a well-defined digitalization strategy in place that focuses on sustaining a clean core system. To meet this objective, it chose to utilize the no-code tool, 麻豆原创 Build Apps, which aids its transformation journey with 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP).

50Hertz鈥檚 citizen developers implemented a mobile application for the company鈥檚 specialized maintenance electricians that significantly reduced both the manual effort and the risk of errors. This mobile application supports them by maintaining and calculating the master data of power circuits, which are represented in the 麻豆原创 system as functional locations.

Why 50Hertz decided to use 麻豆原创 Build Apps

In 2023, 50Hertz conducted an analysis of its plant maintenance processes. In summary, it concluded that it was time-consuming to create new entries in its plant maintenance system and fill in master and operational data. A lot of manual effort was invested in maintaining data in Excel files and value calculations for technical objects were prone to errors. Due to the complexity of the process,听the responsibility for certain areas could only be shared between a few technicians.

Develop enterprise apps with drag-and-drop simplicity

After collaborating with the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team in Berlin, the company identified a use case for its future accounting solution and evaluated different scenarios. Ultimately, the innovative capabilities of 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform convinced the 50Hertz expert team because the platform would allow them to scale up a new solution once it’s successfully piloted and rolled out across the entire corporation.

What鈥檚 more, in 麻豆原创 Discovery Center, they discovered the “” mission, which provides guidance and support with a repeatable actionable use case to solve exactly that. The analysis showed that 麻豆原创 Build Apps could not only help enhance operational agility and speed responses to business requirements, it could also integrate seamlessly with existing 麻豆原创 S/4HANA architecture.

Martin Glatzel, enterprise architect at 麻豆原创 AppHaus Berlin, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration with the 50Hertz team: 鈥淲ith only very limited support from our side, the 50Hertz citizen developers succeeded in using 麻豆原创 Build Apps to solve their defined use case. Their four new apps will have an immense impact on the efficiency of the important high-voltage grid maintenance work in the future.鈥

Diagram showing the solution architecture of the 50Hertz maintenance apps

What the maintenance apps improved

麻豆原创 Build Apps enabled the team of 50Hertz citizen developers to implement the new maintenance applications with very limited support from 麻豆原创. Today, they cover the following maintenance tasks:听

  • The electric circuit display app shows circuit attributes.
  • The circuit section display app allows users to look for a specific circuit and select it. All circuit sections of the selected circuit are shown, and users can view corresponding attributes and characteristics.
  • The circuit section adjusting app allows users to search for a specific circuit and select it. All circuit sections of the selected circuit are displayed, and users can modify corresponding attributes.
  • The circuit section design app allows users to select a circuit and create a circuit section by entering and saving necessary requirements and attributes.

After rolling out the new apps to the specialized electricians, they have benefited in different ways, such as:听

  • About 15% shorter process duration for maintaining functional locations and a significant reduction in the use of both paper- and Excel-based process steps.
  • 10% faster onboarding of new technicians because the app is very easy to use, leading to quick adoption by its end users, the specialized electricians.
  • Intuitive search for technical locations based on historical data.
  • Automatic calculation of business-critical numbers, thus improving accuracy significantly.

Looking back

Looking back, the 50Hertz team appreciates the opportunity to develop complex apps with 麻豆原创 Build Apps in relatively short timeframes. Christian Salewsky and Desiree Possi, both working for the Maintenance Systems & Processes department at 50Hertz, shared about their experience: 鈥淲hile we still had to code at least to some extent in JavaScript and learn to keep track of all the different flows, the overall project experience was encouraging. The detailed product documentation allowed our team to grasp the basics quickly. Once we used the standard functionalities of 麻豆原创 Build Apps, calculating electronic data became very simple. We found clear explanations of all the functions, and the tabular presentation of data was very helpful, too.鈥

New 麻豆原创 Business AI Learning Journey Available Now /2024/12/new-sap-business-ai-learning-journey-available/ Tue, 10 Dec 2024 12:15:00 +0000 /?p=230496 A new 麻豆原创 Learning Journey called 鈥溾 launched in late November 2024. It enables learners to run customer workshops and explore, discover, and design 麻豆原创 Business AI use cases to be built with 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP).

With the rise of 麻豆原创 Business AI solutions, the 麻豆原创 AppHaus and 麻豆原创 Solution & Innovation Experience teams joined forces to develop an 麻豆原创 Learning Journey based on the existing 麻豆原创 Business AI Explore and Design workshops, both available in the . These formats were designed based on experiences gained in co-innovation projects with customers. In these projects, diverse teams of users, partners, designers, coaches, and enterprise architects worked on identifying use cases in their respective business scenario that could be enhanced and redesigned with the help of 麻豆原创 Business AI.

As Karen Detken, 麻豆原创 AppHaus strategic designer, puts it: “This journey aims to equip business executives, development teams, and innovation practitioners with a structured approach to identify and define AI use cases that benefit both the company and the end users. The collaborative exercises described in the journey are explained in detail to enable anyone, even those without extensive facilitation experience, to conduct these sessions on their own. Our ultimate goal is to bring innovation into the hands of people and make best use of the latest technologies.”

麻豆原创 Learning Journey: Applying a Human-Centered Approach to Identify and Define Business AI Use Cases

Who Are the Learners?

This journey is designed for anyone interested in finding meaningful use cases for AI that can benefit end users and businesses. Here are some scenarios on how different people at an organization can benefit from it:

Early Talent Anil Heads to a Customer-Facing Role

Anil just finished university and joined 麻豆原创 as an early talent. His role is in the field organization and he would like to consult customers on innovative solutions built with 麻豆原创 BTP. With this goal in mind, he took design thinking training at university.

The 麻豆原创 Learning Journey’s course material, templates, and guidance will enable him to help customers identify use cases that offer great innovation potential when redesigned with 麻豆原创 Business AI. It鈥檚 more about understanding the reasons behind it, which makes this training stand out.鈥

What Do These Customers and Partners Have in Common?

What do , Beyond Technologies, a Syntax company, , , and have in common? They all did the 麻豆原创 Business AI Explore workshop hosted by the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team, all for different purposes. Some of them identified and already implemented concrete AI use cases as innovation opportunities in their company, using 麻豆原创 Business AI and building upon 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform. Others used the workshop experience for their own enablement, to roll it out to their customers and adapt the formats and methodologies to their own service portfolio.

Iren Group Improves IT Service Desk Processes with 麻豆原创 Build Apps /2024/07/iren-group-improves-it-service-desk-processes/ Wed, 03 Jul 2024 12:15:00 +0000 /?p=226635 The leading Italian multiutility company Iren Group follows an ambitious 2030 vision to meet the needs of citizens and territories. It is built upon three strategic pillars: ecological transition, territoriality, and service quality. On its overall innovation path, Iren identified opportunities to improve its IT device assignment, replacement, and return processes.

With one specific device assignment use case in mind and based on its existing relationship with 麻豆原创 AppHaus, Iren approached 麻豆原创 in early 2024. The company鈥檚 goal was to not only make the corresponding processes more efficient but also eliminate potential error sources; it had detected errors caused by reliance on e-mail communication or through error-prone manual data entry. What鈥檚 more, the company wished to have transparent process insights and get real-time updates on device status and availability.

Building on 麻豆原创 BTP

To work on this innovation step, Iren Group鈥檚 IT department asked for expertise support in testing and applying 麻豆原创 Build Apps. For a first kick-off meeting, the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team invited Burak Demir, product manager, 麻豆原创 Build Apps, to join the project. With the customer鈥檚 system landscape built on 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP), the joint project team took a first step to check the 麻豆原创 Discovery Center site for existing solutions. They encountered a helpful use case in the 鈥溾 mission. The mission allowed them to build upon prior experiences, benefit from existing material, and get helpful guidance that was, to a certain extent, applicable to Iren鈥檚 system landscape.

The New Solution: 麻豆原创 Build Apps and 麻豆原创 Build Work Zone

The new solution consists of different components, such as 麻豆原创 Build Apps, 麻豆原创 S/4HANA, 麻豆原创 Build Work Zone, as well as the 麻豆原创 S/4HANA solution for waste and recycling, which provides a platform for managing device records and information.

鈥淢y role in this project was to be available for very specific questions,鈥 Demir says. 鈥淚ren鈥檚 citizen developers did a great job in using and applying the available material and resources! They used 麻豆原创 Build Apps very successfully to solve one defined use case, which is exactly what the product was made for. And even if the impact of this one web application may not be too impressive yet because of the number of users, the enablement and experience the customer team gained in creating it is invaluable. I am sure it will encourage the team to look for more innovation opportunities that can be addressed with the help of 麻豆原创 Build Apps.鈥

Smooth Operations and Transparency in Device Management

With the new web application that was built with 麻豆原创 Build Apps and deployed to 麻豆原创 Build Work Zone, Iren gained real-time updates and visibility of device status. The seamless integration with OData library allowed for automatic device creation and updates, eliminating the need for manual data entry. The use of the new solution further improved the accuracy and reliability of device records. What鈥檚 more, it brought about significant time savings, enhanced transparency, and much-desired visibility into device status.

鈥淚n our IT department, this app has truly improved our device assignment processes by eliminating the manual process via e-mail and automatically importing data from an 麻豆原创 Build Apps web form into 麻豆原创,鈥 Sara Miola, IT specialist at Iren Group, says. 鈥淲e have achieved significant time savings and increased efficiency, as the time spent has been reduced from several days to few minutes. The implementation of 麻豆原创 has enabled us to overcome our challenges, resulting in streamlined processes and enhanced device management effectiveness.鈥

Meeting Workout: A Game to Improve the Meeting Experience /2024/05/meeting-workout-game-to-improve-meeting-experience/ Fri, 10 May 2024 11:15:00 +0000 /?p=224844 To help address the challenge of unproductive meetings, the Future of Work team at 麻豆原创 and 麻豆原创 AppHaus created the 鈥淢eeting Workout鈥 board game. It brings a playful approach to making meetings more efficient. Interested teams can choose between a virtual template or a downloadable, do-it-yourself version.

For the majority of employees, work comprises enjoyable projects and duties but also routines and tasks that can be tiring or difficult. To make the work experience as positive and efficient as possible, experts and companies around the globe seek to continuously improve the realities of their workforce. This is also true for 麻豆原创.

Meetings, All Kinds of Meetings

An important facet of today鈥檚 work reality is meetings. They are where all sorts of work decisions are prepared and made, where briefings take place, where teams build up their team identity, exchange thoughts, solve challenges, share updates, align across geographical time zones, and much more. In many cases and for many roles, meetings consume a considerable part of overall working hours. So it comes as no surprise that, in their most recent project, the Future of Work team at 麻豆原创 and 麻豆原创 AppHaus colleagues joined forces to develop an easy approach for teams to improve their meeting routines.

鈥淎s featured by Forbes in May 2023, an average . This is a challenge we want to address with the Meeting Workout game,鈥 says Andreas Hauser, SVP and head of 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network. 鈥淏y innovatively blending play with productivity, we can transform these hours into opportunities for meaningful engagement and collaborative innovation, paving the way for a future where every meeting is a step towards building stronger, more dynamic teams.鈥

The Imperative for Efficient Meetings

According to a , inefficient meetings have been identified as the top disruptor to productivity, with an excessive number of meetings following close behind. As 麻豆原创 Chief Future of Work Officer Christian Schmeichel states: 鈥淭he way we are working is changing rapidly, and both the rise of hybrid work and new technologies have increased the number of meetings for many of us. Hence, it鈥檚 an imperative to foster meetings that best utilize our time, spark energy, and drive outcomes. The Meeting Workout game can help with an engaging workshop format that can not only improve meeting effectiveness but can enable teams to set new standards for workplace collaboration on their journey into the future of work.鈥

Playing for a Better Meeting Experience

From the initial idea to create a game for teams to improve their meeting routines, it took the New Work Practices team and 麻豆原创 AppHaus a few weeks to design, test, and produce the Meeting Workout game. However, what might look like a fun project was very similar to any other design and innovation project.

鈥淚n our planning meetings and test sessions we really tried to put ourselves in the shoes of all kinds of teams in different organizations and setups,鈥 recall project members Beate Riefer, UX designer at 麻豆原创 AppHaus, and Filip Weidenbach, HR project expert in New Work Practices. 鈥淭hrough a very generic phrasing of the cards and in simple steps, the game should be applicable in the most diverse, if not all, environments. It鈥檚 not as easy as it might seem 鈥 and it鈥檚 the reason why we established breaks in our meetings to keep the energy and concentration levels up. Here鈥檚 an important recommendation for all teams playing the Meeting Workout game: have plenty of sticky notes and a variety of snacks available!鈥

50 Meeting Workout Games Available

The Meeting Workout game can be a perfect opportunity to help actively inspire and support teams in restructuring their current meeting formats. Users can choose between the virtual version available on Mural, a do-it-yourself, , and a tangible board game version.

The Future of Work team at 麻豆原创 is gifting 50 board game versions on a first-come, first-serve basis. People or teams that would like to test and use the board game can contact PressFutureOfWork@sap.com, thereby acknowledging that their postal address and contact information will be used only for the delivery of the game shipment, in accordance with the .

10 Years of 麻豆原创 AppHaus: Looking Back and Ahead /2023/12/10-years-of-sap-apphaus/ Fri, 22 Dec 2023 12:15:00 +0000 /?p=221082 Here鈥檚 to 10 years of innovation work with customers and partners! After a week of events and activities, 麻豆原创 AppHaus received a lot of feedback.

Since its inception in 2013, 麻豆原创 AppHaus has been a hub for fostering a culture of human-centered innovation. With the help of design and architecture thinking, the global team aims to bring sustainable customer solutions into the hands of people. On November 28, 2023, 麻豆原创 AppHaus opened its doors to customers, 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network partners, analysts, guest speakers, and 麻豆原创 colleagues to not only celebrate the past decade of successful customer co-innovation but also allow for a look into the future.

10 Years 麻豆原创 AppHaus, 10 Years Successful Customer Innovation

The evening kicked off with a by Juergen Mueller, CTO and member of the Executive Board of 麻豆原创 SE. He congratulated the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team on their ability to stay curious, flexible, and at the forefront of new technologies, all while maintaining a focus on 麻豆原创鈥檚 customers and partners.

After a warm welcome, Anja Schneider, SVP T&I COO, handed over to Andreas Hauser, SVP and head of 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network. In his keynote, he focused on the team鈥檚 ability to constantly adapt to a changing and evolving technology landscape. Through stories and anecdotes of customer projects, he showcased how the team initially started working on user experience (UX) improvements 10 years ago. He continued describing how it is now focusing on helping customers identify specific use cases for generative artificial intelligence (AI) built with , keeping the human in the center, and designing new methodologies that can empower teams to empathize with end users, identify their pain points, and co-create solutions that can truly address their users鈥 needs.

Before closing his keynote, Hauser shared his personal moment of gratitude. A few weeks back, Tim Brown, chair of IDEO, who brought design thinking into the business world two decades ago, congratulated 麻豆原创 AppHaus, saying 鈥淐ongratulations to 10 years of 麻豆原创 AppHaus! It is remarkable what you achieved. All your competitors tried it, but you succeeded.鈥 This quote builds the bridge to when Professor Hasso Plattner, chairman of the Supervisory Board of 麻豆原创 SE, introduced design thinking to 麻豆原创 in 2004.

The Power of Collaboration

To bring together diverse perspectives and expertise, 麻豆原创 AppHaus invited customers, analysts, and partners to participate in a panel discussion. Their different views served as a catalyst for meaningful conversations and provided good advice and insights. Here鈥檚 what the panelists had to say.

鈥淲hen working with the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team, we noticed that they came to help, not sell, in the first place. Until today, our most successful digital solution we have at Rolls-Royce Power Systems is the one we jointly developed with 麻豆原创 AppHaus.鈥

鈥 Daniel Eberle, vice president of Digital IT
at Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG

鈥淚 think we must empower every employee to become an innovator. The mindset 麻豆原创 AppHaus conveys and the tools provided are supporting this mission. Furthermore, we must encourage future thinking since it is the best way to create the desired future for all of us.鈥

鈥 Harriet Kasper, researcher at Fraunhofer IAO

“Thanks to the collaboration with the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team that facilitated a very helpful generative AI exploration workshop, D枚hler was able to design and build a solution with 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform and generative AI that revolutionized how we manage our extensive product portfolio. What鈥檚 more, the new solution also streamlines the process both for our customers and sales teams. The generative AI workshop was a crucial turning point, expanding our understanding of challenges beyond just technology. This partnership has not only improved our efficiency but also opened new avenues for innovation and customer engagement.鈥

鈥 Pierre Wiese, member of the IT Leadership team and
head of Business Applications Commercial &
Group Management at D枚hler Group

鈥淗uman-centered innovation, as pioneered by 麻豆原创 AppHaus, is what truly differentiates 麻豆原创 to its customers. Everything must be designed, from our products and services to how we engage with the market. As technologists, we often focus on what technology can do. With human-centered innovation, the focus shifts to what humans can achieve with technology. It is the application of technology and not the technology of applications that is important.鈥

鈥 Paul Saunders, head of Product Strategy and chief evangelist
of Cloud ERP for 麻豆原创, former lead analyst for 麻豆原创 at Gartner

鈥淎s an 麻豆原创 partner with a clear focus on the topics of user experience and 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform, we never completely fit into one of the established partner categories. With 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network, this really changed. Finally, we found a home for our UX activities within the 麻豆原创 ecosystem. Together as a network with more than 15,000 people, we have a lot more power to follow our mission: to convince customers of the great benefits of human-centered innovation.

鈥 Christian Heinrich, member of the Executive Board of sovanta AG,
麻豆原创 AppHaus Network partner, Marketing & Solutions,
Experience Management, and Design Labs

“As dedicated member of the 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network community, we at AGILITA take pride in the collaborative spirit that inspires us within this dynamic network. It’s a platform where ideas flow, methods elevate, and innovation is cultivated. Together we rise, fueled by the collective strength of shared insights and methodologies, bringing the transformative power of 麻豆原创’s cloud innovations with 麻豆原创 BTP to our customers, crafting a future where ingenuity knows no bounds.”

A Look into the Future of Generative AI with Aleph Alpha

A special guest one evening was Jonas Andrulis, CEO of the Heidelberg startup . He gave a talk on his view of the possibilities and constraints the current rise of generative AI brings.

麻豆原创 AppHaus, as an incubation hub for new technologies and methodologies, has already developed a format that aims to explore and identify opportunities for specific business use cases together with customers.

Work Hard, Play Hard

麻豆原创 AppHaus has achieved remarkable milestones over the past decade, thanks to the unwavering dedication, hard work, and collaborative spirit of its team and network. To express gratitude and celebrate this success, 麻豆原创 AppHaus invited current team members, alumni, and 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network partners to an afterwork party on November 29. With Music@麻豆原创 setting the tone, the evening was filled with lively conversations, infectious laughter, and lots of dancing.

The 麻豆原创 AppHaus team showcased their combined creative power by transforming the workshop space of 麻豆原创 AppHaus into a stage, a vibrant dance floor, and, on the third day, an interactive exhibition showcasing the different innovation methodologies. From designing the decorations to orchestrating the entire anniversary week, the whole team made all the different events come to life. Typical for the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team, it was also a testament to the belief that those who work hard are allowed to have a great time!

The Only Constant Is Change

In her closing remarks, panelist Harriet Kasper shared her observations: 鈥淵our customer focus was the only constant while everything else changed. [鈥 Innovation initiatives need to evolve and adapt. They require more change than other parts of the organization. To me, 麻豆原创 AppHaus represents a certain mindset. You can sense and observe this mindset, always adapting and transforming. This is a great example, especially coming from a company like 麻豆原创, which wouldn’t be the first to come to mind when you think of innovation.鈥

Looking back on 10 years of innovation work and a week of celebrations, one thing is clear for the 麻豆原创 AppHaus team: although external factors, such as the strategy or technological landscape, might have changed, the way 麻豆原创 AppHaus works, placing the human in the center and making innovation real with 麻豆原创 products and technologies, has never changed. It will certainly be exciting to see what the future holds.

麻豆原创 BTP Use Cases: Going Deeper, Broader, and Faster /2023/10/sap-btp-use-cases-deeper-broader-faster/ Mon, 16 Oct 2023 11:15:00 +0000 /?p=212693 In May 2023, attendees and visitors of 麻豆原创 Sapphire sessions worldwide discovered the advantages of use cases in effectively utilizing the features of 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP).

Since then, significant progress has been made with . To further global influence and better support customers and partners, the use case initiative underwent enhancements in three key areas:

  1. Going deeper: Refining existing use cases by integrating advanced features and cutting-edge technologies like generative artificial intelligence (AI)
  2. Going broader: Increasing and intensifying involvement from the broader ecosystem and partner community
  3. Going faster: Introducing automation features to help accelerate the realization of business outcomes

Going Deeper

麻豆原创 consistently aims to improve existing use cases, either by adding advanced technological features or by introducing speed-enhancing functionalities. This is because every use case is backed by a team of experts from both the business and development functions.

What Is an 麻豆原创 BTP Use Case?

A use case describes how customers can address a business challenge by leveraging 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform. It consists of customer-proven, well-documented missions to guide and assist each customer鈥檚 implementation journey on 麻豆原创 BTP, helping to achieve desired business outcomes for business users, architects, and developers.

The dimension of 鈥済oing deeper鈥 involves adopting cutting-edge technologies, like generative AI, and incorporating additional related business content. As Juergen Mueller, chief technology officer and member of the Executive Board of 麻豆原创 SE, described in a recent article: 鈥淲e are at the beginning of a new technological era. Generative AI has entered the public consciousness on a broad scale and 麻豆原创 Business AI has the potential to revolutionize the way enterprises operate and solve their technology challenges with 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform. Generative AI provides us with a whole new toolbox that opens so many opportunities to simplify and improve our work lives鈥hen using and applying AI in a business context, we make sure it is relevant, reliable, and responsible.鈥澨

麻豆原创 BTP Use Cases Guide Generative AI Solutions

Use cases built on 麻豆原创 BTP can give concrete examples of where and how generative AI can be used to realize relevant, reliable, and responsible business outcomes. With the foundation 麻豆原创 BTP provides regarding new technologies such as artificial intelligence, solutions adhere to 麻豆原创鈥檚 strict guiding principles outlined in and an .

To demonstrate the increased depth of use cases, the following four examples show enhancements that have been made from a technology perspective. All of them will be presented at this year:

  1. built to help accelerate integration and increase productivity around ERP, customer experience (CX), integration, and intelligent enterprise suite quality.
  2. , helping improve operational efficiency by automating repetitive tasks for finance professionals around 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Finance, AI, 麻豆原创 Build Process Automation, and intelligent enterprise suite quality. This was recently presented in .
  3. to help foster intelligent decision-making around digital supply chain, AI, integration, analytics, and intelligent enterprise suite quality. Learn more in a .
  4. to help enhance the value of financial transactions with insights powered by GPT (generative pre-trained transformer technology), in alignment with ERP, AI, golden path, and intelligent enterprise suite quality. Visit .

Going Broader

The opening and broadening of the use case approach can be seen in steps that go in three directions: to include 麻豆原创鈥檚 ecosystem more seamlessly in the creation process of use cases, to offer more technical guidance along with reference architectures, and to provide enablement support on how to work with customers and explore their respective business opportunities powered by generative AI and the latest technologies.

More Partners Getting On Board

To help simplify the creation of new use cases, 麻豆原创 created a central use case repository and started providing additional reference architectures.

Make your business applications and processes more intelligent with the power of AI on 麻豆原创 BTP

The repository is a content authoring tool, allowing users to access and maintain customer-proven, well-documented business use cases for buyers, sellers, and builders. After a quality review, newly entered use cases can be published in , where more than 230 missions 鈥 and counting 鈥 are available today.鈥

The mentioned reference architectures are linked to use cases to help software architects when building solution architectures that combine different technology products and services. 麻豆原创 offers source files of diagrams that can be used and adopted by using鈥. Various examples are displayed on a dedicated , which can be considered as a starting point for what’s coming on .

Sharing on 麻豆原创 Store and 麻豆原创 Discovery Center

For partners, offering applications and solutions that have proven to be relevant and beneficial for one or more customers is not new. To give an example, the 19 partners that form the global together with the 麻豆原创-owned locations offer more than 100 solutions in . Here are just four of them:

  • Bluestonex Consulting Ltd. offers the , as shown in a customer example with . On October 18, the Bluestonex team will talk about use cases in an expert session on 鈥.鈥
  • DalRae Solutions Pty Ltd. presents the to manage worker compliance with 麻豆原创 SuccessFactors solutions. With customer CITIC Pacific Mining, it won a prestigious in 2023.
  • sovanta AG registered its solution “鈥 in . It shows that large language models can support business solutions and processes and that integrating ChatGPT into Qualtrics can automate tedious follow-up surveys.
  • Incture Technologies Private Limited offers its product , a logistics application giving customers more control for increased efficiency and on-time deliveries. Its customer alfanar successfully implemented the product and submitted its positive outcome to .

From a partner perspective, 麻豆原创 BTP use cases can offer a broad range of opportunities for customer projects. These different options will be looked at in an upcoming live webinar series called “” open for . Besides positioning a product on 麻豆原创 Store, partners can now provide helpful context around their solutions by writing their own 麻豆原创 BTP use cases and publishing them in 麻豆原创 Discovery Center.

Unleash the Power of Business AI with 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform

New Workshop Format to Identify Generative AI Opportunities

When it comes to evaluating new use cases in the relatively new field of generative artificial intelligence, 麻豆原创 AppHaus launched a that is publicly available. It helps participants identify business challenges and opportunities that can be addressed using generative AI. With a set of predefined 鈥渙pportunity cards,鈥 participants can brainstorm various use case ideas, detail the most relevant ones, and then compare them to decide which ideas to pursue further.

Going Faster

An important measurement that customers and partners apply when implementing is the overall time-to-value to consume business outcomes. That is why the concept of use cases first evolved from marketing assets to more actionable artifacts, including code and configuration files that can provide guidance, developer insights, and predefined business content for reuse. The next evolution level will be around automating implementation steps.

Automation empowers developers and architects to focus on realizing business outcomes, not setting up infrastructure. In this context, 麻豆原创 plans to introduce the release of three actionable use cases with “one-click deployment鈥 that can reduce prerequisite setups by up to 50% at . One-click deployment steps are included in the use case project board in 麻豆原创 Discovery Center for rapid adoption by 麻豆原创 customers and partners.

The first focus of setup automation will be on creating 麻豆原创 BTP accounts, assigning service entitlements, and granting authorizations. In future, further automation around software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications and deployment of code and content will be targeted as well. Learn more in the .

A Promising Perspective

When talking about the future evolution of 麻豆原创 BTP use cases, Anja Schneider, senior vice president and chief operating officer for Technology & Innovation at 麻豆原创, sees a clear focus: 鈥淲ith the 麻豆原创 BTP use case initiative, we always followed the vision to create actionable use cases that help lead to concrete business outcomes. The next step is to achieve these outcomes much faster. We want to automate use cases so that users can deploy them easily to help accelerate time-to-value and save implementation efforts. In the end, we want to enable customers and partners alike to act faster and more swiftly on changing demands around them.鈥

鈥淚’m delighted to share that our exploration of  has provided us with invaluable insights into the future of application development using cutting-edge 麻豆原创 technologies. We’re committed to further exploring these innovative tools, specifically when it comes to streamlining processes and delivering rapid solutions to our business needs. One of the most compelling advantages I’ve experienced with low-code tools is the ability to create high-value, fully functional products in a remarkably short timeframe. The transformative potential for our business in automating the supplier invoice processing is immense. What once took an entire day’s work can now be accomplished within just minutes, all while significantly enhancing our operational reliability. To give an example, I liked the format of how the mission  guides you step by step. I like to think that we have鈥痑n鈥槎乖 team and experts that accompany us in all these processes, along with all the鈥痳elated documentation, the associated learning journeys, and the videos.鈥

麻豆原创 BTP Use Cases Kick-Start Transformation with Pre-Built Business Content /2023/05/sap-btp-use-cases-art-of-the-possible/ Wed, 03 May 2023 12:15:52 +0000 /?p=204534 At 麻豆原创 TechEd in 2022, 麻豆原创 featured in more detail. Since then, many customers and partners have had their first experiences with existing use cases and missions. Brazilian food company Pif Paf Alimentos and Portuguese banking customer Novo Banco are two of them.

Some use cases have proven to provide guidance and help customers with their transformation journey to the cloud. Other existing use cases and missions could be further enhanced to become even more meaningful. 麻豆原创 listened to feedback and, where applicable, added more helpful business content to existing use cases and related 麻豆原创 Discovery Center missions. Building on best practices, this business content represents single business scenarios or events as plug-and-play code snippets within the whole use case with software for an existing business problem. In other cases, proven examples were added to the existing catalog of use cases. Some already feature the latest technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) or 麻豆原创 Build Apps, and how they were integrated into a customer鈥檚 software landscape.

Customers and partners alike can use this detailed experience and shared knowledge for their own purposes. Companies and organizations can get inspired, learn from other solutions, or improve their existing architectures to become future-ready.

To set expectations, Juergen Mueller, chief technology officer and member of the Executive Board of 麻豆原创 SE, explains: 鈥淏usinesses that use 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform do not have to start with a blank canvas. Our and pre-built business and industry content help customers understand what is possible to keep their business innovative and future-ready. One thing to remember is that pre-built business content may not get you 100% of what you need but is likely to get you 80% or more to where you need to be. You can then add the remaining specific features and functionalities required for your business.鈥

So, these actionable use cases and related missions can to help meet certain requirements and solve specific situations in their enterprise. As Mueller puts it, 鈥淭hey were prepared for business experts, software developers, and architects to show the art of the possible.鈥

Here are two concrete examples of customers working with repeatable use cases:

Pif Paf Alimentos Builds Mobile App for Maintenance Technicians

In less than three weeks, Pif Paf Alimentos launched a mobile application for its maintenance technicians. The new mobile app significantly reduces the use of paper, improves the efficiency and accuracy of administrative tasks, and does not require an Internet connection. Pif Paf Alimentos, having worked with 麻豆原创 products like 麻豆原创 Integration Suite and 麻豆原创 ERP before, took advantage of听 to help resolve its technicians鈥 problems by building and deploying a working mobile app solution.

Why was the deployment process so fast? 麻豆原创 Build Apps allows users to build apps in a low-code manner by providing drag-and-drop user interfaces (UI) for common app components. This successful implementation is now reflected in the 麻豆原创 Discovery Center mission 鈥.鈥

From a Sustainability App for Banking to a Repeatable Use Case at Novo Banco S.A.

Novo Banco S.A. wanted to encourage and enable its approximately 1.5 million customers to be more climate conscious while strengthening their loyalty to the bank. It focused on a target group of customers between the ages of 18 and 30 because young people are well aware of the global climate situation but not necessarily of their own carbon footprint.

Together with 麻豆原创 and partner Connect Earth, the bank continued to build upon its SmartCO2nverter idea, a concept that had won 麻豆原创鈥檚 鈥淪ave One Billion Lives鈥 challenge in 2021. Since money movements and payments can give a good听indication of an individual鈥檚 carbon footprint, it aimed at improving the customers鈥 carbon literacy by analyzing and using the users鈥 bank account transactions and spending behaviors in a meaningful and transparent way. While this project brought about a solution design at the proof-of-concept stage, 麻豆原创 did not stop here and aimed at offering this solution approach on a broader scale.

Anirban Majumdar, vice president and head of 麻豆原创 T&I Platform Adoption & Advisory, describes the journey: 鈥淣othing gives us more joy than building 麻豆原创 BTP use cases that solve business challenges for our customers. One new use case we鈥檙e particularly excited about is a banking sustainability calculator app we鈥檝e built for Novo Banco, an innovative financial institution based out of Lisbon, Portugal, that is deeply (ESG). The mobile app itself is built using the reusable architecture principles of 麻豆原创 Cloud Application Programming Model and React Native on 麻豆原创 BTP. After the project, we extended the application architecture with a GPT scenario offered via the service. We are excited about the possibility of combining business context with the capabilities of large language models on 麻豆原创 BTP without actually disclosing any critical data to third-party APIs. We will open-source our code on GitHub in time for 麻豆原创 Sapphire in 2023, when you can check it out and let us know if you find the use case relevant for your business problem.鈥

Scaling via 麻豆原创 Ecosystem

The concept of building upon best practices and experiences made by others is not new to 麻豆原创 and its ecosystem. Repeatable use cases and solutions are built by 麻豆原创 and its ecosystem alike.

To give an example, 鈥, with its 20 partners globally, has developed more than 20 solutions that can be found in and offers more than five missions in ,鈥 confirms Andreas Hauser, SVP and head of 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network.

Seeing this level of enablement happening across the entire 麻豆原创 ecosystem equals standing on the shoulders of giants and getting an impressive idea of what is possible.

Royal Greenland and Local Fishing Communities Embark on Digital Journey /2022/07/royal-greenland-local-fishing-communities-digital-journey/ Wed, 20 Jul 2022 12:15:25 +0000 /?p=197970 A small fishing boat leaves Greenland鈥檚 west coast to catch wild Greenlandic halibut in the North Atlantic. The small dinghy sails in between icebergs to reach the rich fishing grounds in Disko Bay. What could be an epic picture of human endeavor exposed to primeval nature is the daily routine for more than 2,000 fishermen and women who deliver their catch to Royal Greenland, one of the largest fishing companies globally. These individuals don鈥檛 have much time to enjoy the Nordic environment; fishing in the bitter cold and under harsh arctic winds is backbreaking work.

Royal Greenland is one of the world鈥檚 leading groups in the seafood market and a long-standing partner of Greenland鈥檚 fishing community. The government-owned company employs more than 2,500 people, has a fleet of deep-sea and coastal trawlers, and operates 37 fish processing plants and ship bases around the world鈥檚 largest island. It runs around 50 production facilities in Greenland, Canada, and Germany, conducting sales activities on all continents. Royal Greenland is committed to bringing wild-caught, high-quality seafood from the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean to consumers. As a member of the听, Royal Greenland has a strong focus on driving sustainable practices for fisheries.

Royal Greenland uses 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform to Strengthen Relationships with Fishermen

Video by Angela Klose

Starting Point: High Sustainability Standards, Paper Forms, and Manual Effort

Deeply rooted in its Nordic island, Royal Greenland knows the importance of offering sustainably sourced seafood so consumers can be sure they are not supporting excessive or illegal fishing that threatens fragile marine ecosystems. What鈥檚 more, the company is committed to making it as simple as possible for fishermen to sell their catch for the best possible price. Earning Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification for sustainable fishing is critical to both of these ambitions, but to get it requires extensive documentation that wild-capture fish were caught following strict sustainability guidelines.

To document and duly report on all fishery supply chain processes requires an ongoing dialogue with local suppliers and individual fishermen. At the same time, the company has to ensure that all fishing activities are registered and carried out in full compliance and communicated to the appropriate authorities. Only a few years ago, the company had about 70,000 purchase orders filled out on paper and signed by fishermen in frosty weather 鈥 only to be digitalized later manually.

So,听Royal Greenland aimed to holistically digitalize the process of bringing fish into factories and tie听this together with a full quality control and registration process.

Joint Digital Journey Strengthens Partnerships with Local Fishermen

For this complex digitalization endeavor, Royal Greenland worked with 听member . Together, they created听user-friendly iOS-based apps on听 (麻豆原创 BTP) to help simplify听the company鈥檚听supplier relationship with local fishermen, streamline the procurement process, and contribute to global sustainability goals. These apps听enable fishermen to submit their catch data in a fast and听simple way.

“We try to digitize the process of bringing the fish into the factories and tie this together with the entire quality control and registration process,” said Lars Bo Hassinggaard, corporate IT manager, Royal Greenland A/S. “We have developed apps for all these scenarios, and we use this platform strategically to build a close partnership with the local catchers.”

Holistic Solution from Three iOS-Based Apps and 麻豆原创 BTP

Even for people with limited smartphone experience, the intuitive solution requires no onboarding. It enables local fishermen to register their catches and secure documentation, which can then also be used by municipalities to secure transparent and sustainable fishery. Empowered through mobile devices with seamless access to 麻豆原创 data and processes, 2,200 fishermen now have access to the technology and can register relevant data on the go. The more than 70,000 purchase orders per year could be converted to digital documentation. Today, three iOS-based apps help the fishing community and Royal Greenland staff alike:

  1. Intuitive native iPhone app for the fishing community: This app allows the fishing community to enter catch information in a simple way and digitally submit legally required signatures right from the dock. It also validates relevant licenses for specific species when reporting data from catch fields.
  2. iPad app for the landing staff: To support the continuous flow of data between fishermen and Royal Greenland, a second iOS-based native iPad app lets landing staff register information on catch texture, quality, temperature, and weight, which is automatically delivered to back-end enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  3. Web-based app for the procurement staff: Back-office procurement staff have a Web-based app in which they can approve the procurements based on data from the first two apps. With this information, they create purchase orders, which are automatically shared with the relevant fishermen.

Continuing the Innovation Journey

The enterprise continues to explore new ways to support local fishermen and their families while growing the business. Tools could also be added to help give fishermen and women a total view of their finances, help them set budgets, and build up savings. Royal Greenland is also looking to establish an information portal for fishermen to connect with the company as well as an e-commerce platform for buying and selling fishing equipment. In any case, the openness and extensibility of 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform can offer many opportunities for further growth.

At the end of the day, prosperity for fishermen means prosperity for Royal Greenland. 鈥淩oyal Greenland鈥檚 success is based on supporting people, planet, and profit鈥, said Hassinggaard. 鈥淭hese groundbreaking apps are strengthening supplier loyalty, optimizing internal processes, and helping boost fishermen income as well as our bottom line.鈥
