The initiative aims to inspire organisations around the world to buy more goods and services from purposeful suppliers, making a positive collective impact on society.<\/p>\n<p>Here, we look at one the Australian social enterprises that will benefit from the pledge.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Goodwill Wine: a toast to giving back<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Your next bottle of chardonnay or shiraz would help make the world a better place, if you bought it from <a href=\"https:\/\/goodwillwine.com.au\/\">Goodwill Wine<\/a>. That\u2019s because the social enterprise donates 50 per cent of profits to more than 300 charities chosen by its customers.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, this powerful idea was born out of a tragic event. Founder and CEO, David Laity, lost almost everything in the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009. After receiving much-needed support from his community, he wanted to start a social enterprise to give back.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Goodwill Wine has provided more than 180,000 meals to people in Australia who live in poverty, helped to rehome almost 50 orangutans, and played a role in Queensland\u2019s introduction of a plastic bag ban.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also committed to creating employment opportunities for disadvantaged Australians, with half of its staff living with a disability or listed as long-term unemployed before joining the team.<\/p>\n<p>Goodwill Wine is aiming to donate more than $1 million to charity by selling quality wine at below cellar-door prices. Now there\u2019s a goal worthy of raising a glass.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince our inception we\u2019ve contributed $360,000 to a wide range of charities that support everything from those living in poverty to environmental sustainability, and we&#8217;ve done this just by selling great quality wine. Quite frankly, I\u2019m amazed by this step from 麻豆原创, which is an incredible signal of intent from one of the world\u2019s biggest companies.
