AUCKLAND, New Zealand 9 May 2023 Corporate food franchisee has implemented multiple 麻豆原创 solutions, including 麻豆原创 , across its operations in New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii and California. The move has provided the NZX-and ASX-listed company with a single, consistent ERP system for the first time, (NYSE: 麻豆原创) today announced.

Restaurant Brands specialises in managing multi-site branded food retail chains. Headquartered in Auckland, it operates KFC stores in New Zealand, Australia and California, Taco Bell stores in Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand, Pizza Hut stores in New Zealand and Hawaii and Carl鈥檚 Jr. stores in New Zealand. It also has customer service centres in Auckland, Sydney, Honolulu and Los Angeles.

The company had grown rapidly, primarily through acquisition, surpassing NZ$1.2 billion revenue in 2022. Previously the organisation operated a number of different systems which meant generating consolidated reports was not easy. The required manual intervention took time and had the potential to introduce errors.

The 麻豆原创 implementation, which took 10 months, was managed by 麻豆原创 Partner Lagom and comprised of solutions including: 麻豆原创 S/4 HANA Private Cloud Edition, 麻豆原创 EnableNow, 麻豆原创 Concur, and (BTP).

Restaurant Brands is seeing significant business benefits since going live in April 2022. Increased automation has led to faster payment runs, month-end processes and consolidated reports, giving better information for faster decision making. Automation has also freed up resources to enable greater collaboration and sharing of knowledge across the different regions and has also helped to solve the organisation鈥檚 supply chain integration issues, with teams now able to successfully manage supply and demand planning as well as anticipate any future global supply chain disruptions. Over a hundred thousand orders have been placed and processed via the new 麻豆原创 system to get produce out to the stores.

Transitioning from a number of systems to a single, new ERP system has given Restaurant Brands the opportunity to implement 麻豆原创 Best Practice and align all its operations to a consistent way of working. Previously there was not a set of global work processes across the different regions. Now all areas (or functions) of the business are using the system in a consistent way, which gives clear insight into how each area and the whole business is working.

Thuy Le-Kim, Group Systems Accountant and Product Owner at Restaurant Brands, says having a single solution means the business is more efficient, has greater transparency and has the flexibility to scale rapidly as required.

鈥淲e wanted a system that would be able to grow and evolve with the business. We now have consistent, robust processes that mean we can increase in size without needing to dramatically increase the number of people we need to run the business.鈥

鈥淥ur approach was unusual, we didn鈥檛 start with a current state analysis, because each region was operating differently. Instead, we started by looking at 麻豆原创 Best Practice to see if it was right for our needs 鈥 if it would deliver the key outcomes we needed. Any requests to vary from standard went to our Solution Standardisation Board to review to make sure that the change was necessary and that the required extra work to change, test and maintain the variation would be justified by the outcome,鈥 says Thuy.

鈥淭here were definitely some things that we changed, but there was a lot of rigor around the decision-making to ensure the organisation could maintain changes on an ongoing basis. Significant work was done to ensure that there was minimal variation from standards, the result was a system that works effectively with a reduced cost of ownership over its lifetime.鈥

Sofiane Ainine, Head of MidMarket, 麻豆原创 Australia and New Zealand, says that implementing cloud solutions was a key factor in Restaurant Brands being able to simplify its processes to achieve its business goals.

The ability to consolidate, streamline and standardise operations across multiple geographies is enabling Restaurant Brands to adapt to change faster and free up more resource across the organisation to focus on opportunities for growth.鈥

Restaurant Brands worked with 麻豆原创 Partner Lagom, on product selection and implementation and continues to work with Lagom as its application management and centre of excellence partner.

鈥淟agom was definitely the right fit for our organisation. We鈥檙e a fairly lean and flat organisation, so we needed a partner who was agile and had a lot of experience. We relied on and valued their expertise and their flexibility to adapt throughout the process,鈥 says Thuy.

Paul Tombleson, General Manager of Delivery at Lagom, who closely oversaw the project, says that the approach that Lagom adopted ensured that the team never lost focus on the outcome and all aspects of delivery were looked into.

鈥淭he focus on doing the right things at the right time, while utilising the RISE with 麻豆原创 approach, resulting in a successful implementation across NZ, Australia, Hawaii and California in the space of 10 months. Sydney, Australia 鈥 18 April, 2023 (NYSE: 麻豆原创) today announced how HomeMade, a startup that enables self-management of government Home Care Packages, has leveraged 麻豆原创鈥檚 to automate processes and bring more transparency and flexibility to Australia鈥檚 aged care sector.听听

Home Care Packages are available for older Australians with complex care needs but still want to live independently in their own homes, providing access to personal and clinical care services. Traditionally, aged care provider models have offered limited flexibility, choice, or control to home care participants. Existing models are also often associated with manual processes and high administration costs, reducing the amount of resources and funding spent on actual support and services.听

HomeMade implemented 麻豆原创 BTP, a process that took 12 months, working with partner Bourne Digital to design, develop and deploy an intuitive, automated, self-service portal. Now 6 months on, the portal has boosted the efficiency of processes and workflow management and provided greater transparency in terms of service provision. HomeMade is also now able to offer more flexibility to participants looking to choose and access a variety of services and support, giving them more control over plans, budgets, and spending. This is demonstrated by a 9-day reduction in the time it takes to onboard new participants and by a 50 per cent reduction in reimbursement processing time.听

HomeMade鈥檚 new, automated portal also helps to reduce administrative overheads associated with Home Care Package management, with participants saving more than $5,000 annually on average in management fees.

Ballance, in partnership with 麻豆原创, set an ambitious target to move to 麻豆原创 RISE and Commerce Cloud to leverage the latest technology and simplify the customer journeys through the 麻豆原创 and MyBallance platforms. Getting the timing right was essential, Ballance wanted to offer new innovations and on farm geospatial services to farmers.

Auckland, New Zealand 20 September 2022 New Zealand farmer-owned co-operative Ballance Agri-Nutrients (Ballance) has successfully completed the first phase of a multi-year cloud program, migrating to 麻豆原创 cloud solutions, 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud and 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS), to deliver greater business value to its farmers.

The migration was achieved in just five months, to avoid running into peak farming season and prevent delays to Ballance鈥檚 customer facing geospatial initiatives, and went live over a single weekend in March 2022.

By moving to 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud private edition and 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform onto AWS in the first phase of its transformation, Ballance has established a stabilised core and solid foundation in the AWS cloud to drive and support future strategic deliveries, where it looks to further leverage the 麻豆原创 and AWS platforms to enhance its overall customer experience and digital offerings.

Ballance decision to engage 麻豆原创 and Amazon Web Services (AWS), and to partner with 麻豆原创鈥檚 Cloud Success Services to manage the availability, performance and maintenance of its cloud infrastructure has allowed Ballance to reduce demand on internal resources by 10 per cent, shifting its focus from delivering operational support and maintenance to driving value through on-farm digital services for its customers.

David Healy, Chief Digital Officer at Ballance, said, 鈥淲e selected 麻豆原创 and AWS as partners because of their deep knowledge and history of migrating existing 麻豆原创 environments into the cloud and their focus and alignment to enabling Ballance鈥檚 future geospatial and on-farm application initiatives. They understood the urgency and importance of this phase and created a seamless and rapid transition for us.鈥

鈥淲e had initial concerns around performance, shifting from architecture hosted in New Zealand to the cloud hosted in Australia, however the performance is much more consistent and stable, and more importantly we now have the ability to scale when required during our seasonal peaks which is critical for us. Knowing that there is a team dedicated to looking after the environment, managing security, availability and maintenance has really allowed us to focus on delivering value to our customers.鈥

Ballance has been running 麻豆原创 since 2009 and saw an opportunity to use the technology more effectively.

鈥淭he way I put it, is we had a Rolls Royce in the garage, but we were not servicing and maintaining it. Everything was just in time, and we were always lagging on updates and as a result other work and deliverables. The service and maintenance alone have been a huge improvement, especially for security, stability and time for us, the stats speak for themselves 鈥 10 per cent reduction in FTE managing their core 麻豆原创 environment, 20 per cent reduction in 麻豆原创 support and maintenance, 70 per cent reduction in workload managing hardware and resource upgrades and 99.9 per cent availability of 麻豆原创 production environment鈥. said David.

Key to the success of the project has been Ballance鈥檚 partnership with 麻豆原创 from the executive level through to the project team, which created an open, transparent environment for problem solving. It became a joint project dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition. The deep product knowledge of the 麻豆原创 team resulted in faster resolution of any technical issues.

Phil听Cameron, Chief Operating Officer, 麻豆原创 Australia and New Zealand, said,听鈥淏allance听Agri-Nutrients鈥 migration to 麻豆原创 cloud solutions, achieved in just five months, is evidence of the value RISE with 麻豆原创 is delivering to customers. By moving to the cloud,听Ballance听is able to spend more time and resource on driving greater value for its customers, rather than on keeping its systems running. We鈥檙e incredibly proud of our partnership and of how 麻豆原创 technology is supporting听Ballance听to achieve its ambition of helping farmers work more productively, profitably, and sustainably鈥.

Scene set for Phase II

The second phase of the program started in June 22 and focusses on enhancing Ballance’s existing 麻豆原创 Customer Experience Solutions, which power its farmer platform, MyBallance. The customer-facing platform will be moved to 麻豆原创 Commerce Cloud, which will enable Ballance to deliver more personalised geospatial experiences, products, and services to New Zealand farmers.

As a leading integrated essential service provider, AGL has a proud 184-year history of innovation along with a passionate belief in human and technological progress. The company delivers 3.95 million gas, electricity, and telecommunications services to residential, small, and large businesses, as well as wholesale customers across Australia.

AGL also operates Australia鈥檚 largest electricity generation portfolio, responsible for about 20% of the total electricity capacity of the country.

AGL recently partnered with 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network member Bourne Digital to create the AGL One iOS app. Based on 麻豆原创 Integration Suite and 麻豆原创 Extension Suite, the app brings together AGL鈥檚 employee network in a single digital experience so they can access the right tool at the right time 鈥 every time, from anywhere. Powered by 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (麻豆原创 BTP), the solution recently won a 麻豆原创 Innovation Award in the Transformation Champion category.

Growing Company Needs Enhanced Digital Infrastructure

In June of 2019, AGL launched PT3 (People, Process and Performance Transformation), its initiative to unite all AGL sites across corporate and group operations into one technical platform. The initiative also aimed at delivering greater mobility and enabling AGL staff to work flexibly with mobile applications on their phones or tablets.

After first launch, however, user feedback showed the need to improve the solution and explore ways to better enable employees digitally.

AGL decided to examine employees鈥 user experience (UX) to help ensure a better adoption of the new platform. Clear focus of the new solution would be consolidation and ease of use. After a complete redesign of the mobile interface, AGL wanted to extend the strong relationship already in place with customers to the people who worked for the company.

Bringing in 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network Member Bourne Digital

AGL consulted with the same firm that helped design its customer experience, Bourne Digital. As an 麻豆原创 AppHaus Network member, Bourne Digital is part of the worldwide community of like-minded 麻豆原创-partners that work with customers in a creative environment to make innovation real, following 麻豆原创鈥檚 human-centered approach to innovation.

As a first step toward the new solution for employees, AGL tasked an internal service design team with replicating the service design process for employees鈥 mobile app. With the help of its employee experience center, the joint AGL and Bourne Digital project team conducted lifecycle mapping and extensive interviews with staff to discover the following key issues with the existing mobile interface:

  • Too many tools in the environment made it hard for the employees to identify the correct tool for each situation.
  • The usability of the previous solution was not simple and prevented proficiency.
  • The solution missed data consolidation of several sources.
  • Employee engagement was low due to dissatisfaction with the efficiency of the tools.

AGL One: iOS App Simplifies Employees鈥 Lives

Employees wanted a straightforward, consolidated, easy-to-use mobile experience. AGL and Bourne Digital worked with Apple to create an iOS app called听AGL One. The feedback collected in the interviews was used to create a completely redesigned mobile employee interface. Based on 麻豆原创 Integration Suite and 麻豆原创 Extension Suite, the app now brings together AGL鈥檚 employee network in a single digital experience.

鈥淎GL was focused on creating a highly engaging mobile experience for employees to improve productivity and engagement,鈥 said Selim Ahmed, CEO of Bourne Digital. 鈥淭ogether, AGL, Apple, 麻豆原创, and Bourne Digital created an integrated and scalable solution that extended their investment in 麻豆原创 S/4HANA with the agility of 麻豆原创 Integration Suite and 麻豆原创 Extension Suite. It has been a wonderful innovation story that puts employees at the center of the organization. The Bourne Digital 麻豆原创 AppHaus facility supported employee experience design thinking sessions.鈥

One-Stop Shop for All Actions

The project team held a number of design thinking sessions at Bourne Digital鈥檚 AppHaus facility in Melbourne to re-imagine the employee experience.

Building on its existing investment in 麻豆原创 S4/HANA with 麻豆原创 BTP, the AGL One app combines a landscape of more than 300 IT applications into one single interface with only one main login to use. Even when employees want to switch back and forth between apps, they do not have to re-login and remember different passwords every time. Once signed in, the UX itself is听 accessible to the average employee, so they do not have to know specific tool names or apps to use them.

Built-in capabilities within AGL One prioritize tasks that are easy to do on the go, such as administrative tasks and approvals. This helps reduce cycle time on tasks that are often put off and need to be followed up on, making employees鈥 workdays more productive and efficient. Key features of the app include:

  • Quick access to action all purchase order approvals in 麻豆原创 S/4HANA
  • Assessments of workplace safety and reports available on the go, with the option to use a phone鈥檚 camera to add a photo and record safety observations or hazards in 麻豆原创 S/4HANA
  • Personalization of the homepage for quick access to tools the employee uses most often
  • Desk booking with desk locator, particularly following COVID-19 restrictions
  • Holiday and leave request entry and management
  • New colleague appreciation tool called 鈥淓nergise鈥
  • AGL news service with talking points, friends and family discounts, and easy access to AGL job boards to be active ambassadors outside the company
  • Live news feed along with integration to 鈥淭he Source,鈥 AGL鈥檚 news and intranet
  • Seamless third-party collaborations between 麻豆原创 back end and Apple user interface

By building an app expressly for its employees, AGL has successfully placed their user experience on the same priority level as its customers鈥. AGL One supports a positive, streamlined experience for employees, whether at the office or in the field. After rolling out the app, the company has seen a motivation and engagement boost at work among employees. The app was released in October 2020 and the number of downloads speaks for itself: 1,600 out of 3,700 employees have downloaded the app so far, an adoption rate of nearly 50%.

鈥淲hen we first started this project, we looked at it the same way we鈥檇 look at anything we were doing for our customers,鈥 explained Joy Marrocco, IT Transformation Manager at AGL. 鈥淲e already had a great relationship there, why not apply that same approach to our employees? We wanted to drive digital adoption of employee tools, and this app is one of the ways that we are working to make access to these tools much quicker and easier for our people.鈥

The innovation power of this application and the entire project was also recognized by the jury of the 2021 麻豆原创 Innovation Awards, with the AGL One app for employees winning in the Transformation Champion category.
