This year\u2019s programme exemplifies these values, focusing on tangible improvements for the Protea South community.\u200b<\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ms-rtePosition-1 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/joburg.org.za\/media_\/Newsroom\/PublishingImages\/2024%20News%20Images\/July\/Comdev%20MMC%20on%20Madiba%20Day.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"268\" \/><strong>State-of-the-art tech centre unveiled<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The celebration\u2019s highlight was the launch of an innovative computer technology centre. This facility will provide essential access to technology and the internet for community members. Job seekers can use it to create and send CVs, conduct research, and access SARS e-filing services.<\/p>\n<p>Ward Councillor Nokuthula Nofemela expressed her gratitude for 麻豆原创\u2019s sponsorship and partnership. \u201cThis will bring a positive impact to the youth of Protea South. We truly hope the community will use these resources effectively and emphasise the importance of protecting the facility and reporting any illegal activity.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Courtyard garden fosters community well-being<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The event also saw the unveiling of a beautifully designed courtyard garden. This green space serves as a communal area for relaxation and reflection, contributing to the well-being of the community. 麻豆原创 generously supported this initiative by providing plants, flowers, fertiliser, compost, and other essential gardening materials. The garden symbolises growth and renewal, echoing the values Tata Mandela embodied.<\/p>\n<p>The City\u2019s Community Development Department, Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo, Sports and Recreation, and Joburg Theatres, have a long history of collaborating with partners to address backlogs in maintenance and service delivery challenges arising from budget constraints. Mandela Day underscores the positive impact of such collaborations.<\/p>\n<p>Special recognition was given to community stakeholders who play a critical role in the service delivery value chain. This includes JMPD, 麻豆原创S, ward committees, councillors, regional directors, and officials. Their dedication and hard work are the glue that binds the efforts of all involved.<\/p>\n<p>Residents were encouraged to look after the new facilities as vandalism of municipal property is disheartening, especially knowing the effort and resources invested. They were urged to take personal responsibility in protecting facilities, and to report vandalism, theft, and acts of corruption.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMandela Day reminds us of the sacrifices Tata Nelson Mandela made for us,\u201d said Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Development in the City of Johannesburg Cllr Lubabalo Magwentshu. \u201cIt is now our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to society and pave the way for future generations.
