From the need for more sustainable alternatives to the way we do business to the incomparable impact of AI on every facet of our personal and professional lives, African executives face a challenging time ahead, says at 麻豆原创 Africa.

What is in store for African enterprises in 2024? The global economy continues to be in a state of flux as geopolitical conflict, supply chain pressures, inflation, technology-led disruption and changing consumer needs put pressure on companies and decision-makers.

From the desperate need for more sustainable alternatives to the way we do business to the incomparable impact of AI on every facet of our personal and professional lives, business leaders face a challenging time ahead. By taking stock of emerging trends, however, business leaders may be better able to ride the waves of change and steer their companies through turbulent waters.

These are the key trends that African enterprises should take heed of in 2024:

AI adoption

received an astonishing amount of hype in 2023, and was a bolt of lightning that made every business and technology leader sit up and take notice. Today, it is not a matter of if businesses will adopt AI, but rather how quickly they can deploy and enjoy AI-driven benefits.

In 2024, business leaders will look beyond the hype and seek AI solutions that deliver real-life use cases and benefits. At an operational level, organisations may quickly realise that the quality of their AI outcomes depend largely on the quality of their data.

Technology providers will be indispensable in this conversation, thanks to the huge volumes of data and transactions running through their systems and broader business network. Business leaders will leverage the technology providers鈥 expertise to access the data they need, visualise it, and take decisive actions to drive successful outcomes.

Sustainability centre stage

As the world continues to warm and the consequences of climate change hit home for billions of people, will take centre stage in the business and technology world.

In 2024, the energy industry will shed its view of the customer as simply a commodity user in favour of the prosumer model. Industry leaders will aim to not only secure loyalty and create retail-like experiences, but encourage users to make active contributions to the stability and health of the grid.

This may involve keeping customers informed of how they can make the best, most sustainable decisions over energy use, or see consumers feed excess energy, for example from rooftop solar, into the grid to stabilise supply and contribute clean energy.

In addition, mounting pressure from regulators, consumers and investors will see organisations build more sustainable supply chains with lower carbon emissions and greater use of circular economy principles. This will require extensive innovation in data and analytics to provide business leaders with end-to-end visibility over their environmental impact across the broader supply chain.

Those companies that do succeed in leveraging technology to build truly eco-conscious supply chains will not only unlock new sources of innovation and revenue, but secure long-term profitability for years to come.

Procurement advances

In the rush for digitalisation, enterprises will continue to enhance their procurement processes, driving the need for more intuitive user interfaces. Procurement is evolving from a tactical to a strategic function to drive greater value throughout the organisation.

AI and analytics will be deployed to support procurement professionals as they seek ways to spend more time on value-adding tasks. In 2024, the demand for technologies that enable value-based procurement will increase, enhancing the organisation鈥檚 ability to leverage procurement to deliver value in other parts of the business, such as sustainability.

Resilient supply chains

Global supply chains are still under severe pressure, thanks to a combination of geopolitical disruption, inflation, environmental factors and the ongoing ripple effects of the pandemic. In 2024, expect a surge in supply chain technology investments as organisations seek greater visibility, agility and risk resilience.

In particular, AI holds huge promise for its ability to enhance organisations鈥 ability to sense, recognise and react to disruptions and opportunities in new and exciting ways. The key to unlocking AI鈥檚 benefits hinges on connected data and collaboration throughout the organisation.

Business leaders must lead the charge by ensuring AI is integrated with every layer of the supply chain network to achieve measurable business outcomes. This will unleash a new era of hyper-predictive and efficient logistics, revolutionising the way goods flow from factory floor to consumers.

Organisations in Southern Africa have received a welcome boost to their digital transformation efforts with the graduation of the latest cohort of candidates from the 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program.

, Chief Operating Officer at 麻豆原创 Africa, says the additional skills capacity comes at a critical time for the region. “Ongoing economic uncertainty, inflationary pressures and the impact of new technologies such as Generative AI are creating challenges for organisations seeking to unlock growth and drive innovation. With this latest group of candidates, organisations gain access to work-ready cloud and technology skills that can support their digital transformation efforts.”

Market challenges drive need for digital skills

Organisations throughout Southern Africa are beset with multiple challenges to their growth. Economic growth in the region stood at , well below the global growth of 3.4% and the 3.8% growth experienced throughout Africa.

Business leaders are also striving to meet sustainability targets and deal with the impact of disruptive technologies, including the emergence of Generative AI and its application in a broad range of business cases.

However, organisations are hampered in their efforts at deploying technology to support their response to challenges through a pervasive tech skills shortage. In , nearly eight in ten (78%) organisations in the region said a lack of tech skills had impacted them in the past twelve months, with a lack of innovation, delays with completing projects, and a loss of clients to competitors among the most common impacts.

Graduates ready to make impact

The 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program, offered by the Digital Skills Center of 麻豆原创, is aimed at enabling young talent to utilise the latest 麻豆原创 technology and innovation. The program covers software functional and technical knowledge and certification, with a strong focus on the latest technologies and a range of soft skills to ease entry into the workplace.

This latest cohort received training on 麻豆原创’s flagship enterprise resource planning solution, as well as 麻豆原创 Activate and 麻豆原创 Business Process Integration. In addition, graduates developed a broad range of soft skills, including design thinking, interpersonal skills, interview skills, and business model innovation methodology.

Candidates took part in training between early-July and end-August, and were chosen from a pool of candidates in South Africa and Zimbabwe. The full program took place virtually, allowing a broader range of candidates to take part.

who is one of the graduates in this latest group, says: “The 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program has been nothing short of a catalyst for my personal and professional growth. Through a meticulously crafted blend of immersive learning experiences, mentorship, and hands-on projects, the program has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of 麻豆原创’s innovative technologies and their real-world applications.”

Since its launch in 2012, the 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program has trained and graduates more than 4100 candidates across 41 countries, including over 1900 in Africa alone.

Bolton adds: “The program is aimed at supporting our customers and partners in the region by ensuring they have access to essential skills needed to benefit from their investment into technology, and forms part of our broader global commitment to promoting education and entrepreneurship. We wish the graduates well and look forward to the positive impact they will make at their new workplaces.”

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa 麻豆原创 Africa has concluded its latest Hack2Build Africa partner event, with consulting firm Bayajula Services emerging as the overall winner.

The Hack2Build Africa event was held in May and saw eight partner teams from South Africa and West Africa spend seven days building compelling solution prototypes using 麻豆原创 Build, a low-code app development and automation platform. A team of 麻豆原创 solution architects and product management experts provided technical support to ensure the success of the partner solutions.

麻豆原创 Africa Chief Operating Officer Tracy Bolton says: “Innovation lies at the heart of everything we do at 麻豆原创. It is only through collaboration with our valued partner ecosystem that we can revitalise and revolutionise the way we support the digital transformation aspirations of organisations across the continent.”

Winning innovation enhances procurement planning

Bayajula Services’ winning concept is a cloud-based automated procurement planning solution that enables organisations to plan and manage their procurement spend, allowing integration with strategic sourcing and operational procurement systems. The solution is built on the 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform using 麻豆原创 Build.

鈥淲e are thrilled to be recognised by 麻豆原创 as the leading solution in the recent Hack2Build Event and look forward to adding transparency across critical procurement processes in Africa,鈥 says Busisiwe Sibanyoni, Executive Director at Bayajula.

Runners-up included EPI-USE Africa for its case management tool, and EY Nigeria for a business partner authentication solution.

Tshepo Mahloko, Head of 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab: Africa at 麻豆原创, notes the potential of low-code solutions to accelerate innovation. “Low-code solutions such as 麻豆原创 Build provide easy, intuitive ways of developing new applications without the need for extensive coding proficiency. This can accelerate time-to-value, enhance ROI, reduce total cost of development through the rapid development of minimum viable products, and unify development experiences for application and process innovation.”

Partners leverage Build for innovation

A previous Hack2Build event held in February saw 20 partner organisations from 11 countries in EMEA South participate in a two-day Demo Jam to build solution prototypes using 麻豆原创 Build.

The winner of this event was Merlynn, who developed a prototype Digital Fraud Review Panel which aims to prevent payment fraud within procurement and payment systems. Merlynn’s Decisioning Digital Twin Technology enables organisations to deploy a digital team of fraud experts within their 麻豆原创 payment system to enhance existing controls.

The Digital Fraud Review Panel acts as a second set of eyes that monitors payment activity in real-time, identifies potential fraud and stops the payment before money flows out of the organisation, all integrated into 麻豆原创 via API. Merlynn鈥檚 Digital Fraud review panel solution is now listed on the 麻豆原创 Store.

Mahloko says the Hack2Build events serve as a powerful platform for African partner organisations to showcase their capabilities, harness the potential of the 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform, and drive innovation throughout the region. “The 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab will continue to work in close collaboration with our valued partners to support the development of their solutions and take their innovations to market.”

The 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab is hosting a Hack2Build event for African partner organisations in Q4 of 2023 and will provide an opportunity for partners to turn their innovative solution ideas into real customer solutions. For more information, please visit

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa June 13th, 2023 South African organisations are benefiting from a welcome boost in digital transformation and cloud skills with the graduation of the latest cohort of candidates for the 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program.

Tracy Bolton, Chief Operating Officer at 麻豆原创 Africa, says the graduates will play a vital role in supporting the digital transformation efforts of local organisations. “Organisations are in a race to adopt the latest technologies and enhance their operations, efficiency and innovation capabilities. However, access to appropriate cloud and digital transformation skills still elude many companies. Our latest group of graduates will provide a welcome boost to local efforts at digital transformation and support the broader 麻豆原创 ecosystem.”

Organisations seek work-ready tech skills

South Africa is home to a vibrant, youthful population, but its potential is held back by a youth unemployment rate of over 60%. As the country celebrates Youth Month – held in June every year – public and private sector efforts are underway to equip the country’s youth with appropriate tech and soft skills.

One such effort is the 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program, an initiative across the EMEA South region offered by the Digital Skills Center of 麻豆原创 that is aimed at enabling young talent to utilise the latest 麻豆原创 technology and innovation to support digital transformation. The program has expanded its footprint following the introduction of an option to participate virtually, allowing talented candidates from a greater number of countries to participate.

found that nearly four in five (78%) South African organisations had experienced some impact due to a lack of tech skills, with more than half saying the tech skills shortage had led to a lack of innovation in the organisation. Seventy percent of South African respondents also cited digital transformation as an in-demand skill in their organisations.

Tech expertise boosts employment prospects

The latest cohort of 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program graduates completed certificate courses in 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation with 麻豆原创 Activate and 麻豆原创 Business Process Integration on 麻豆原创 S/4HANA 2020. The program also places emphasis on the development of a range of soft skills, including design thinking and business model innovation, creative thinking, interpersonal skills, and interview skills.

鈥淢y experience with the 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program was amazing as I got equipped with a heightened sense of confidence in myself and for my future. I am now on a journey to greener pastures and it is all thanks to the program,鈥 says Makwena Oltavia Moeti, a graduate from the latest cohort.

Candidates complete a two to three month training program that includes 麻豆原创 software functional and technical knowledge with a focus on 麻豆原创’s latest innovations. The program targets top talent from local universities that are unemployed or underemployed and graduate from the program as 麻豆原创 Associate Consultants, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

In addition, the 麻豆原创 Dual Study Program partners with top universities to provide students with opportunities to take major-specific 麻豆原创 trainings and certification during academic years. This helps students bridge the gap between studies and the workplace, and ease their search for jobs within the 麻豆原创 ecosystem. In South Africa, partner universities include the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, Nelson Mandela University, and the University of Pretoria.

“Africa has vast untapped potential for digital transformation that could add immense value to the continent’s economic growth,” says Bolton. “And with the world’s most youthful population and an expected population boom over the coming decades, the continent is ideally placed to provide the tech skills needed to drive the global economy.”

A new cohort of candidates from Southern Africa – Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa – will commence training in July. For more information about the 麻豆原创 Young Professionals Program, please visit

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa June 1st, 2023 麻豆原创 today announced the winners of its latest 麻豆原创 Africa Partner Awards, which recognises excellence within the 麻豆原创 partner ecosystem across Africa.

The 麻豆原创 Africa Partner Awards recognise the insight, expertise and value that partner organisations deliver to companies using 麻豆原创 technologies to run core business processes. The winning partner organisations include Dimension Data, Accenture South Africa, and Zimele Technologies.

Tracy Bolton, Chief Operating Officer at 麻豆原创 Africa, notes the important role partner organisations play in supporting digital transformation initiatives across the continent. “African organisations are adopting cloud technologies at an unprecedented scale as they strive to boost efficiency, unlock innovation and transform their business models. As a partner-led organisation, 麻豆原创 works closely with a broad range of innovators, experts and market leaders to ensure African enterprises have the support and insight they need to realise their intelligent enterprise ambitions.”

The winning companies at this year’s 麻豆原创 Africa Partner Awards include:

Dimension Data, winner of the Top Cloud Performance category, which considers cloud bookings, year-on-year growth, and renewals;

Zimele Technologies, winner of the Top Capacity Growth category, which considers skills development, training and the percentage increase in certified consultants;

Accenture South Africa, winner of the Go-Lives category, which recognises the number of customer go-lives; and

Dimension Data for excellence in 麻豆原创 RISE, which considers RISE bookings.

Growing interest in cloud adoption in Africa

Andrew Strachan, Head of Sales: Business Applications at Dimension Data, cites growing interest from customers wishing to migrate their on-premise ERP business processes to cloud environments. “We help our clients move to the cloud and embrace the latest 麻豆原创 technologies. Lately we’ve seen growing numbers of clients adopt the 麻豆原创 RISE program to move their on-premise 麻豆原创 applications into both public and private cloud environments. We work closely with 麻豆原创 and our customers to ensure that their cloud migration is a success.”

According to Bertrin Pekeur, 麻豆原创 Lead at Accenture South Africa, 麻豆原创 forms an integral part of Accenture’s strategy of digitalisation. “We believe every business is a digital business, and the quickest way to digitalise is through the cloud. RISE with 麻豆原创 and SOAR with Accenture provide clients with the ideal platform for cloud adoption.”

Skills essential to cloud success

One of the most important factors for successful cloud adoption is the availability of sufficiently skilled consultants and technology experts. In , four in five African organisations said they were affected by a lack of tech skills, leading to increased pressure on existing teams, a lack of competitiveness, and stifled innovation capabilities.

Accepting the award for Top Capacity Growth, Nomvuyo Mnyaka, Delivery Head Executive at Zimele Technologies, notes the importance of skills in the successful implementation of ERP solutions, integrations and support services. “Our people are our most valuable asset, and we invest heavily in their development and growth. With 麻豆原创’s strategic focus on creating business value over It value, the availability of skilled consultants and technology specialists is essential to our long-term success.”

Partner ecosystem thriving

Bolton cites the thriving partner ecosystem as a cornerstone of 麻豆原创鈥檚 success with supporting Africa鈥檚 digital transformation efforts. 鈥淭he winners at this year’s 麻豆原创 Africa Partner Awards are a showcase of the expert guidance, technological capabilities and business insight our partners provide to organisations across the continent. We look forward to deepening our relationship with our partners and continuing with the great work done to date in driving cloud adoption and tech-enabled innovation throughout the continent.鈥

Pekeur adds: “Considering the broad interdependencies within the cloud ecosystem, one of the most important factors for successful cloud adoption is how well the various partners can work together. Our experience with the strategic and operational management of various ecosystem partners help us deliver successful cloud deployments for our customers.”

The post Channel to Success: How Partners Drive Digital Transformation appeared first on 麻豆原创 Africa News Center.

]]>
It’s true that the only constant is change. And in our modern post-pandemic economy, the rate of change has accelerated and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Today, companies are beset with a multitude of challenges and changes in their operating environment. From dealing with supply chain disruptions to adapting to new ways of work, companies have their hands full.

The question is no longer if companies should digitally transform; it’s a matter of how quickly and in which areas that digital transformation would deliver the greatest value.

Partner ecosystem never more important

In this environment, the role of technology partners has never been more important. Companies and leaders need to be able to tap into a rich technology partner ecosystem to drive their digital transformation and ensure their business is geared for the challenges of a changing modern economy.

A strong partner ecosystem supports digital transformation, as each partner may have specialised services or knowledge that focus on specific industries, markets or competencies.

As a partner builds experience and proficiency in an industry, that knowledge becomes embedded in their solutions and services, and can significantly reduce risk and drive successful outcomes across a broad range of digital transformation priorities. That adds value to their offering and allows them to create revenue streams beyond the core technology.

For example, a tech partner specialising in the retail sector would have products, services and insights that can help retailers more quickly adopt new capabilities and avoid costly mistakes in their own digital transformation efforts.

Customers ultimately need to see their technology partners as collaborators in driving the lifetime value of technology investments to achieve greater business outcomes.

However, the partner ecosystem is in a state of change due to the changing way organisations buy, consume and utilise technology.

Shifting financial model of digital transformation

One of the biggest changes in the way companies adopt technology and drive digital transformation is the switch from physical – or hardware – deployments to a cloud or as-a-service model.

Today, companies want the flexibility to subscribe to and pay only for the technology components that they actually use. In response, tech companies have transformed their revenue models to a pay-as-you-use model.

This holds multiple benefits. Firstly, it opens up greater choice to companies wishing to adopt the best solutions for every business function without having to also purchase functionality or products that they don’t want or will never use.

Secondly, a consumption-based model is more easily scalable, as the hardware that enables a rapid scaling – for example when a company enters a new market or territory – sits on the tech provider’s side. If the company then decides to exit the market or scale down operations, they can simply scale down their consumption and associated costs.

Tech companies and their partners have also over the years invested in the development of technology templates for specific functions or industries. These templates are often developed with the knowledge of what worked and what didn’t work in other similar tech deployments, allowing other companies to avoid mistakes or lengthy customisation processes, which can inflate the overall costs of the project.

This can speed up the time-to-value for new digital transformation initiatives and help build a process of continuous innovation and improvement that drives the business’ success.

Challenges remain

The partner ecosystem is not without its challenges, however. In some cases, partners are still focused on selling large deployments that carry huge costs to the company. While such projects can undoubtedly deliver transformative business value to the company, it’s not entirely in step with the way modern businesses want to consume tech.

Instead, the focus should be on a form of value engineering where partners join forces with their customers for the long haul and consistently innovate and transform business processes to drive value.

Partner organisations need to evolve their business models around developing apps and IP that can be reused in similar industries and use cases, which can drive profitability for partners and cost benefits for customers. Traditional financial models also need to evolve: in a cloud-first world, there鈥檚 no need for lengthy advisory and implementation projects. The focus is squarely on quick turnaround and rapid time-to-value that drive business outcomes in priority areas.

It’s less a matter of finding the correct technology mix and conducting a once-off large-scale deployment, and more a case of continuous innovation and improvement across a broad spectrum of business cases to steadily enhance the organisation’s capabilities.

This can unlock untold benefits and establish a culture of co-innovation that enhances the organisation’s innovation capabilities while continuously delivering business value.

Skill sets also need to evolve and shift away from infrastructure to advisory and business value generation, in addition to expert knowledge and capabilities in deploying cloud solutions.

Technology partners play an essential role in companies’ ability to scale quickly, develop new competencies and unlock new market opportunities. As the modern business environment continues to change at an increasingly rapid pace, companies need the support and insight of trusted partners more than ever.

Having strong role models from an early age expands the world of possibilities so you don鈥檛 feel limited,鈥 says聽Tracy Bolton, the聽Chief Operating Officer听补迟听麻豆原创 Africa. Having said that, Tracy recalls a thought-provoking instance in which she was surprised by the response she received from high school girls from an underprivileged community. They admitted that their career choices were limited to teachers and nurses. This, she believes, needs to be changed.

Empowering business

Tracy鈥檚 journey is itself a prime paradigm of a successful woman in business. Her contribution to the industry has transformed various aspects of business for the betterment of her company, 麻豆原创. She serves as an example for many young people who want to become accomplished leaders. Being the COO of 麻豆原创, Tracy takes pride in leading this multinational enterprise software company with a global presence in approximately 78 countries. 麻豆原创 was established in the year 1972 and proudly celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Tracy mentions, 鈥麻豆原创 has been on the African continent since 1982, operating through聽partners.聽In 1992, 麻豆原创 South Africa was established as a legal entity with a head office in Johannesburg, South聽Africa.鈥 The company provides services to the English and Portuguese markets across the continent, with office hubs in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lagos, Nairobi, and Luanda.

Tracy鈥檚 journey with 麻豆原创, as the Channel Manager for Africa, began in the year 2012 because she wanted to get closer to customers and make a difference. In addition to that, her affection for the diversity of each country and the unique challenges it brings was also a significant reason behind her decision to accept the job. She quickly rose through the ranks to hold positions like marketing director and general business manager before joining the services team to help clients understand the broader value of 麻豆原创. 鈥We are not only an ERP company for large enterprises but span the entire enterprise from finance, supply chain, logistics, procurement, finance, and HR. We support small businesses, large enterprises, and the public聽蝉别肠迟辞谤,鈥澛highlights Tracy. Her decisiveness and ability to take risks aided her in leading in the company. She believes that her determination to obtain the necessary information and act on it gave credibility to her work and helped propel the company to its pinnacle. Her formula for success is based on monitoring the outcome, adjusting the course as needed, and removing any fear of failure that may stymie progress.

鈥淟earn the art of self-promotion without bragging – mention your wins over lunch with colleagues, and share best practices in team meetings 鈥 don鈥檛 be afraid to speak up. Continue to learn, put up your hand for scary projects and be brave.”

A peek into 麻豆原创

麻豆原创 was founded with the purpose of helping the world run better and improving people鈥檚 lives. It believes that by helping organizations of all sizes to digitise their operations, they can run smarter. This builds a network of thriving, intelligent organizations that ultimately contribute to economic growth. 麻豆原创 customers generate 87% of total global commerce. The company also desires to do this sustainably by building sustainability into every one of its products and solutions. 鈥麻豆原创 has been helping companies grow for half a century,鈥 highlights Tracy. 麻豆原创 offers people and organizations deep business insight and fosters collaboration that helps them to stay steps ahead of their competition. It simplifies technology for companies so they can consume its software as per their convenience, that too, without disruption. Its end-to-end suite of applications and services enables business and public customers across 25 industries globally to operate profitably, adapt continuously, and make a difference. With a global network of customers, partners, employees, and thought leaders, 麻豆原创 also helps the world run better and improves people鈥檚 lives.

The COVID-19 lockdown redefined business models of various companies as they adapted to the work-from-home culture, resulting in the mass shift to the cloud. Tracy predicts that cloud adoption will continue to grow into all areas of business as the total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits are experienced. Tracy states, 鈥Everyone manages change in different ways and adapts at a different聽pace.聽As leaders, we need to be aware and not leave people behind on the journey. We need to communicate the why, the how, and the benefits in different ways to make people feel more comfortable so that we can take everyone on the journey with聽us.鈥 At 麻豆原创, in the coming years, the biggest challenge will be around skills as technology advancements accelerate. She also states that she and her team have many programs to build additional skills capacity-internally, with their partners, and with young graduates across the continent.

The Advantages of Female-Led Management

Tracy considers a more diverse workforce to be more profitable. She asserts that women think about problems in a different way and often come up with different solutions. Generally, women are more intuitive and empathetic, which helps ensure the well-being of employees and think about the environment in which they operate. Many factors are driving stress levels, and leaders need to be aware of mental health and create healthy and inclusive workplaces.

Tracy is incredibly proud of 麻豆原创 South Africa鈥檚 current empowerment statistics, which show a 51% ratio of women in management. It has actively been driving development plans across the organization including formal and informal learning, coaching, and mentoring. She and her team have also focused on equity during the hiring process and succession planning. Even gender equity in the pay scale has a formal process in 麻豆原创. It also runs broad development training around unconscious bias and has open roundtable discussions around the topic. Moreover, the company also encourages employee network groups and has a thriving Business Women鈥檚 Network (BWN) within 麻豆原创 Africa.

Tracy Bolton

鈥楾oward Zero鈥

Tracy points out that the world is witnessing an uptake in technology to enable Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) as a core driver for innovation. At 麻豆原创, it has a two-pronged approach to ESG, both as an exemplar in its operations and an enabler of its customer鈥檚 sustainability. It is focused on a path 鈥榯oward zero鈥. This entails achieving zero emissions through better carbon tracking and a smaller environmental footprint, zero waste through adopting circular economy principles, and zero inequality through balancing social responsibilities in its workforce, sourcing, and procurement practices. 鈥麻豆原创 is currently on track to achieve carbon neutrality by 2023, two years ahead of its initial goal,鈥 mentions Tracy. Its Corporate Social Responsibility practices improve access to economic opportunity, education and employment, and the green economy. Such programs are supported by a network of social partnerships, employee engagement, social impact management, and the technical and business expertise of its global workforce through volunteering. In Africa, programs like Africa Code Week and Skills for Africa provide skills, employment, and hope for millions of young people on the continent.

Learning is the key

To make change happen, Tracy believes in lifelong learning and regularly does short online courses on a variety of topics. She wants her legacy to be one that enabled others to be successful and happy in both their professional and personal lives. Tracy also works with聽young female aspirants who need one-on-one tutoring on a specific topic at a specific time. This works well with her current schedule and allows her to have interesting and engaging conversations with a diverse group of people. She enjoys encouraging women to take on projects outside of their regular jobs, as it enables them to widen their network, learn about fresh business opportunities, and get over their fear of the unfamiliar. 鈥Women need to take ownership of their careers. Also learn the art of self-promotion without bragging 鈥 mention your wins over lunch with colleagues, and share best practices in team meetings 鈥 don鈥檛 be afraid to speak up.聽Continue to learn, put up your hand for scary projects and be brave,鈥 says Tracy.
