At 麻豆原创 TechEd 2025 in Berlin, the software giant unveiled the world鈥檚 first enterprise relational foundation model, writes ARTHUR GOLDSTUCK.

麻豆原创 has taken artificial intelligence beyond the realm of language. At the 麻豆原创 TechEd 2025 conference in Berlin this week, the company introduced a new class of AI designed to predict business outcomes rather than words. The result is what 麻豆原创 claims to be the first enterprise relational foundation model, called 麻豆原创-RPT-1, or Relational Pre-trained Transformer.

It represents a shift in what a foundation model can be: rather than being a generator of sentences, it is a predictor of decisions.

麻豆原创 describes 麻豆原创-RPT-1 as an AI that 鈥渃an make fast and accurate predictions for common business scenarios like delivery delays, payment risk, or sales order completion鈥. It uses the relationships between business data rather than linguistic patterns to anticipate what happens next in an organisation鈥檚 operations. In simple terms, it reads the business, as opposed to mere text.

To encourage developers to explore what that means in practice, 麻豆原创 has launched a free playground environment where they can test predictive scenarios, simulate business situations, and see how relational AI behaves when exposed to live data. For developers accustomed to fine-tuning language models, it represents a different kind of creativity, rooted in the mechanics of business itself.

鈥溌槎乖粹檚 announcements today give developers the tools they need to deliver at the speed of AI,鈥 says Muhammad Alam, member of the executive board of 麻豆原创. 鈥淚nnovations across 麻豆原创鈥檚 unique flywheel of applications, data and AI put developers in the driver鈥檚 seat 鈥 where they belong.鈥

That flywheel was clearly visible across the rest of TechEd鈥檚 announcements.

The company鈥檚 麻豆原创 Build platform, its centrepiece for enterprise application development and automation, has been re-engineered to give developers more freedom to use tools they already rely on.

Developers who prefer agentic development environments like Cursor, Claude Code, Cline and Windsurf can now use 麻豆原创 development frameworks through new 麻豆原创 Build local Model Context Protocol Servers. Visual Studio Code users can access 麻豆原创 Build capabilities directly in their existing development environment via a new 麻豆原创 Build extension, which will later also appear in the Open VSX Registry for use with other development environments.

麻豆原创 revealed plans for integration with automation platform n8n, allowing its Joule Studio agents to work alongside n8n鈥檚 own agents. This kind of cross-agent collaboration reflects the company鈥檚 growing emphasis on orchestration: enabling multiple intelligent systems to coordinate tasks across applications and departments.

The data layer that feeds these systems is also evolving. Every intelligent application depends on trusted data, and 麻豆原创 is extending its reach through 麻豆原创 Business Data Cloud. A new 麻豆原创 Snowflake solution extension brings Snowflake鈥檚 managed data and AI capabilities directly to 麻豆原创 customers, giving them 鈥渢he flexibility to choose the right compute and storage for each data and AI workload, while maintaining governance, interoperability and business context鈥.

The announcement was reinforced by a new 麻豆原创 Business Data Cloud Connect partnership with Snowflake, adding to existing integrations with Databricks and Google Cloud. The result is a more open, federated data ecosystem that lets developers work with 麻豆原创 data wherever it resides.

A new data product studio capability in 麻豆原创 Business Data Cloud now allows developers to turn raw data into ready-to-use assets known as data products, designed for analytics, AI and application development. At the same time, the 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud knowledge graph engine can automatically generate knowledge graphs. This means it maps relationships across 麻豆原创 database tables, columns, and data models to reveal how data fits together. For developers, it is a new way of seeing how information connects across systems, turning structure into insight.

麻豆原创 is also extending its Joule AI portfolio, which now includes new assistants that can coordinate multiple agents across workflows, departments and applications. These assistants are designed to 鈥減lan, initiate, and complete complex tasks spanning finance, supply chain, HR, and beyond.鈥

Among the new offerings is an agent for business process analysis, helping teams understand how processes actually run, identify inefficiencies, and uncover opportunities to optimise workflows and achieve measurable improvements.

麻豆原创 pledged to equip 12-million people worldwide with AI-ready skills by 2030, through a partnership with Coursera that expands hands-on training and certification in practical AI tools. The goal, 麻豆原创 says, is to make AI accessible to 鈥減eople everywhere鈥.

Innovations and partnerships including a new collaboration with Snowflake equip developers to turn business data and AI into real business outcomes.

BERLIN听鈥 At 麻豆原创 TechEd in 2025,听 (NYSE: 麻豆原创) brings AI deep into the development process to level up how developers build.

New AI-driven capabilities in the 麻豆原创 Build solution, an expanding data ecosystem and powerful Joule Agents empower developers to move from idea to impact with unprecedented speed and confidence. As AI transforms the nature of professional work, 麻豆原创 also pledges to equip 12 million people worldwide with AI-ready skills by 2030.

鈥溌槎乖粹檚 announcements today give developers the tools they need to deliver at the speed of AI,鈥 said Muhammad Alam, member of the Executive Board of 麻豆原创 SE. 鈥淚nnovations across 麻豆原创鈥檚 unique flywheel of applications, data and AI put developers in the driver鈥檚 seat 鈥 where they belong.鈥

Opening the Developer Ecosystem

麻豆原创 Build, the company鈥檚 flagship solution for enterprise application development and automation, now gives developers more freedom to build, extend and automate using the tools they love most.

For instance, developers who prefer agentic development solutions like Cursor, Claude Code, Cline and Windsurf can now use 麻豆原创 development frameworks with new 麻豆原创 Build local Model Context Protocol Servers. Visual Studio Code users will be able to access 麻豆原创 Build capabilities directly in their development environment with a new 麻豆原创 Build extension. This extension will also be made available later on Open VSX Registry for other development environments. 麻豆原创 and n8n also announced plans for an integration so Joule Studio agents and n8n agents can work together.

And with new agent building capabilities in Joule Studio, developers have the tools they need to extend 麻豆原创鈥檚 ready-to-use agents and build new agents grounded in 麻豆原创 business data and context that can act autonomously based on changing business conditions.

Putting Data to Work

Every intelligent application starts with trusted data. 麻豆原创 is giving developers more ways to put that data to work through 麻豆原创 Business Data Cloud.

The solution now connects with more of the data and AI platforms developers use every day. A new 麻豆原创 Snowflake solution extension for 麻豆原创 Business Data Cloud brings Snowflake鈥檚 fully managed data and AI capabilities directly to 麻豆原创 customers, giving them the flexibility to choose the right compute and storage for each data and AI workload, while maintaining governance, interoperability and business context. 麻豆原创 also announced a new 麻豆原创 Business Data Cloud Connect partnership with Snowflake. This complements existing integrations with Databricks and Google Cloud, giving developers more freedom to choose how they work with 麻豆原创 data.

With a new data product studio capability in 麻豆原创 Business Data Cloud, developers can turn raw data into ready-to-use assets known as data products that support analytics, AI and application development.

An expanded capability in the 麻豆原创 HANA Cloud knowledge graph engine can automatically generate knowledge graphs. This capability maps relationships across 麻豆原创 database tables, columns and data models, revealing how data fits together and why it matters. Developers will be able to see how their data connects across systems and uncover underlying business insights.

Bringing AI Autonomy to Life

麻豆原创 is evolving its AI portfolio to give developers the intelligence and orchestration power they need to takeAI from insight to action.

麻豆原创 introduced its first enterprise relational foundation model, a new class of AI that predicts business outcomes rather than the next word in a sentence. 麻豆原创-RPT-1, or the first-generation Relational Pre-trained Transformer, can make fast and accurate predictions for common business scenarios like delivery delays, payment risk or sales order completion. 麻豆原创 launched a free playground environment for developers today.

New AI assistants in Joule coordinate multiple agents across workflows, departments and applications, bringing automation and autonomy to life. These assistants plan, initiate and complete complex tasks spanning finance, supply chain, HR and beyond. Today, 麻豆原创 introduces new agents built for technical users. For example, an agent for business process analysis will help teams understand how processes run, identify inefficiencies and uncover opportunities to optimize workflows and drive measurable improvements.

Lastly, as AI changes the nature of work for everyone, 麻豆原创 is pledging to equip 12 million people worldwide with AI-ready skills by 2030. 麻豆原创 will expand hands-on training and certification programs that integrate practical AI-ready tools, including through its partnership with online learning platform Coursera.

A Syrian refugee鈥檚 charity in Switzerland is shaping a new model for small organisations, Timo Elliott told the Saphila conference this week. JASON BANNIER reports.

When thinking of enterprise technology, expensive rollouts and complex processes often come to mind. But, as 麻豆原创 global innovation evangelist said in a keynote at听the Saphila 2025 conference at Sun City, the future lies just as much with the individual as with the enterprise.

Saphila is a biennial conference for the 麻豆原创 user group community, hosted by the African 麻豆原创 User Group (AFSUG) in partnership with 麻豆原创, a global tech giant specialising in enterprise software.

Elliott pointed to a quiet revolution in which small organisations and everyday users are taking innovation into their own hands, often without the need for formal IT departments. He said that , a unified low-code and pro-code application development platform, can play a key role in this shift by enabling users to create business apps, automate processes, and build digital workspaces with the help of AI and pre-built components.

鈥淭his is not just for big companies and big problems,鈥 he said. 鈥溌槎乖 Build is a fusion environment. Here鈥檚 a lovely example from the 麻豆原创 Innovation awards for 2024: a not-for-profit organisation in Switzerland called (). It was founded during the COVID era by a Syrian refugee in Switzerland. He noticed that restaurants were all closed and having this excess food while other people were going hungry.鈥

Elliott said the organisation now distributes 18 tons of food every weekend to those in need. Using 麻豆原创 Build Apps, the team was able to quickly create a small application in a no-code, low-code drag-and-drop environment to handle tasks like volunteer scheduling.

The app created by the company includes document automation, making it easy to scan IDs for both volunteers and recipients. He said that these technologies help organisations move faster, especially when it comes to integration 鈥 often one of the biggest hurdles in transformation projects. The allows users to link systems with minimal effort, handling most of the complexity automatically.

In an exclusive interview, Elliott told Gadget: 鈥淚鈥檓 really interested in innovation that is much closer to the individual business person. Companies have always done innovation, but for individuals it鈥檚 harder to innovate 鈥 or has been. Now, with the latest technologies, you can vibe code yourself even if you know nothing about coding. All of that adds up to a new opportunity.鈥

That shift is being powered by a new wave of accessible tools 鈥 cloud services and embedded AI assistants 鈥 that allow non-technical users to build and deploy solutions quickly. Elliott said this as one of the most important developments shaping enterprise technology today.

鈥淓ssen f眉r Alle has gone forward. It鈥檚 just a handful of people, lots of volunteers, but they needed a little bit of application, a little bit of technology to help them.鈥

This kind of solution has become a tangible reality. As barriers to entry continue to fall, even small, volunteer-led organisations are building tools that make a real operational difference.

鈥淚t was so much easier and quicker and more available to a tiny organisation that it just would have been done by hand, and nobody would ever thought about trying to use technology to do it.鈥

Elliott said this marks a new phase in digital transformation, driven by individuals who know their needs and now have the means to build what they require.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an organisation like that where every cent otherwise goes to helping people. This is a micro example of something that I believe that individuals everywhere will be able to vastly accelerate innovation because individual people who know the business, and know what鈥檚 possible, will be able to innovate 鈥 without IT and technology being a bottleneck.鈥

Elliott said that innovation was no longer a sporadic initiative or the domain of a select few within an organisation. Instead, it is becoming a structured, repeatable discipline with defined methodologies, measurable outcomes, and continuous refinement built into how companies function. This was听much like finance or operations.

鈥淭he end result is that innovation and digital transformation should be a business process itself that increasingly can be optimised.鈥

What makes this feasible now is a shift in how business systems work. Rather than requiring manual analysis and lengthy decision-making cycles, systems are becoming more proactive, intelligent, and suggestive.

He said 麻豆原创鈥檚 approach to driving innovation can be broken down into four key steps: assessing where a business stands today, identifying the most impactful areas for improvement, defining a future state using best practices, and implementing those changes with the help of intelligent tools 鈥 all while supporting the human side of transformation through training and adoption. This leads into best practices, implementation via the cloud, and finally, the crucial phase of change management.

鈥淭echnology is never enough, so you need to actually do something in the business to take advantage of that 鈥 there鈥檚 all of the technology adoption side, and the people side of things.鈥

麻豆原创 has recently invested in , a tool designed to help employees understand and effectively use new systems in their daily work. By providing guidance and support, WalkMe facilitates smoother adoption of technology, ensuring that staff can confidently navigate and utilise the tools necessary for their roles.

Yet, Elliott said that tools alone weren鈥檛 enough. This is where AI can make a significant difference in the human side of transformation. He pointed to studies showing AI outperforming humans in emotional intelligence tests, and highlighted a practical benefit: the ability to scale personalised communication and reassurance during times of change.

鈥淭he essence of transformation is helping people understand how they fit in the strategy and help them feel like they鈥檙e being part of the transformation and excited about it, rather than resisting it because they鈥檙e worried about their jobs and functions. At scale, it鈥檚 really hard to go to every single person that鈥檚 affected and sit down with them and spend all of the time to understand any questions and reassure them, whereas with AI you can actually do that at scale.鈥

He said this brings the process full circle, with innovation and digital transformation becoming structured business functions that can be continuously refined and improved.

鈥淢y favourite quote is from Picasso: 鈥楥omputers are useless. They can only answer questions.鈥 Thankfully, asking the right questions, having the context to understand what鈥檚 going on and what is possible, is something that remains very human.鈥

To cultivate that creativity, business leaders must rethink how they support employees in using new tools. Elliott suggests a three-part model: leadership, a dedicated lab team to experiment and track best practices, and a decentralised crowd of early adopters.

Looking ahead, Elliott said 麻豆原创鈥檚 boldest move had听already been made: committing fully to the cloud. The real challenge now was bringing customers along 鈥 even when it demanded difficult conversations. Empowering organisations remained central to the strategy, but individuals shaping outcomes on the ground may drive the next wave of enterprise innovation.

麻豆原创鈥檚 generative AI business assistant receives new capabilities, including collaborative AI agents, writes JASON BANNIER.

Joule, 麻豆原创鈥檚 AI business assistant, has been enhanced with new features, including collaborative AI agents that expand the platform鈥檚 capabilities.

Announced during the online 麻豆原创 TechEd 2024 conference yesterday, these agents are designed to support 80% of 麻豆原创鈥檚 most-used business tasks. They embed Joule more deeply across 麻豆原创鈥檚 portfolio and enhancing productivity by breaking down silos, said the software maker.

鈥溌槎乖粹檚 innovation drives real business outcomes, and today鈥檚 advancements help customers harness the power of AI, data, and new development solutions to catalyse growth,鈥 said Muhammad Alam, member of the 麻豆原创 executive board.

鈥淒rawing on 麻豆原创鈥檚 unmatched business and technology expertise, the AI innovations we鈥檙e announcing at TechEd forge a new human-AI partnership to transform the landscape of modern business.鈥

Joule Studio, a development tool that allows users to build and customise applications using Joule鈥檚 AI capabilities, is now integrated into 麻豆原创 Build. A low-code app development platform, Build enables both business users and developers to create and deploy custom Joule skills.

Michael Ameling, EVP and chief product officer of 麻豆原创 said: 鈥淲e are making Joule even more flexible and useful with Joule Studio in 麻豆原创 Build. It allows partners and customers to create and deploy custom Joule skills.鈥

Joule has also expanded to include collaborative AI agents that autonomously handle intricate business workflows, adapting their strategies to meet shared objectives. These multi-agent systems tackle specific tasks, allowing them to work together on complex business processes.

鈥淛oule now goes Agentic,鈥 said Ameling. 鈥淪pecialised AI agents work autonomously together to solve complex problems.鈥

New improvements to the ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) large language model (LLM) were introduced. This LLM, trained on over 250-million lines of 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud code, is now integrated into the open-source Eclipse framework, providing ABAP developers with enhanced tools for development. Currently available to select customers and partners in an early adopter version, the ABAP LLM is expected to be generally available in the first quarter of 2025.

麻豆原创 Build is launching new AI-driven features like code explanation and documentation search, aimed at reducing development time for Java and JavaScript developers. The platform鈥檚 Extensibility Wizard will let developers access 麻豆原创 Build directly from 麻豆原创 S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, simplifying the process of extending 麻豆原创 solutions.

Two real-world use cases were highlighted during the event:

  1. Dispute management: Autonomous AI agents analyse and resolve disputes related to invoices, unapplied credits, and denied payments.
  2. Financial accounting: AI agents automate key financial tasks such as bill payments and ledger updates while quickly addressing inconsistencies.

麻豆原创 Knowledge Graph

麻豆原创 also unveiled the 麻豆原创 Knowledge Graph, a solution designed to unlock more value of 麻豆原创 data by connecting it with rich business context. Accessible through 麻豆原创 Datasphere and Joule in early 2025, it will help users map relationships across 麻豆原创鈥檚 vast data landscape, empowering better decision-making.

鈥淏y combining the knowledge graph engine with the vector engine, you can harness the power of structured and unstructured data,鈥 said Ameling. 鈥淭his is enabled through a triple store implementation graph data processing and analytical capabilities via SPAR-QL. As such, the knowledge graph engine can also enhance work scenarios and make them even more precise and relevant.鈥

The post What You Might Have Missed at 麻豆原创 TechEd 2023: Remember Your ABCs appeared first on 麻豆原创 Africa News Center.

]]>
From the keynote stage to the showfloor, whether you were a dev, a customer, or a partner, all around one phrase was repeated time and again: 鈥溾.

The focus of more than 5,000 tech and business decision-makers was fixed firmly on AI and what it could do for their businesses, right now 鈥 the products 麻豆原创 has released through 2024, and what is coming next.

With responsible, reliable, and relevant AI that鈥檚 built for business, the view of the thousands of delegates at TechEd 2023 was that the future is looking bright.

There was a wealth of incredible insight and opportunity at TechEd. In fact, it was a little bit like going back to school because the things that stood out to me were the ABCs.

A is for Automation

First, I was struck by the enormous potential businesses can realise through the power of enterprise automation.

With the help of AI, technology is helping developers and IT teams automate repetitive, mundane tasks and make better decisions, faster. By embedding generative AI capabilities into , , and , we鈥檙e helping customers analyse, integrate, automate, and monitor business processes way more simply 鈥 and then immediately write the code to make those processes better. It鈥檚 that easy.

In my discussions with customers, it was clear that complementing process improvement and insights with enterprise architecture insights will be a real force for change in the future. Customers are excited to understand how to optimise and tune their architecture for the best performance across their entire IT stack.

But this isn鈥檛 future-gazing. Businesses are seeing real results today. Take , one of Asia鈥檚 leading healthcare companies, providing pharmaceutical distribution and digital and commercial services across 26,000 direct outlets. Zuellig Pharma implemented best-in-class processes across its 麻豆原创 infrastructure, creating more than 180 automations using 麻豆原创 Build Process Automation to streamline and simplify its business.

B is for Build

Aligned to the focus on automation is the empowerment of a new, powerful resource for IT departments 鈥 citizen developers enabled by . And given every developer will be an AI developer, the opportunity for an AI-infused future is tantalising.

, CIO of Indian car giant , said it best.

鈥淲e started identifying tasks that don鈥檛 require a lot of human intelligence and that enabled our human workforce to focus on more strategic initiatives,鈥 she said. 鈥淭hat led us to automate more than 250 business processes in 3 months, most of which was done by a community of more than 100 citizen developers.鈥

鈥淭hat鈥檚 great, but let鈥檚 talk about benefits. We count more than 900 workdays saved, and more than 400 development days saved in just a year鈥檚 time. We鈥檝e seen a 35% gain in developer efficiency and 20% faster execution of our jobs. And we鈥檝e saved more than 13,000 trees. All in one year,鈥 concluded Nanavati.

The story of Mahindra & Mahindra shows the power of a workforce that has been empowered to make real change to their IT systems and the tangible results that can be realised. And with the ability to link low-code, no-code development with pro-code development via and , as well as increasing amounts of natural language interaction through , it is easier than ever to modernise processes fast.

C is for Clean Core

At 麻豆原创, we know better than most that enterprise systems can be complex. That鈥檚 why a 鈥 a cloud compliant, modern, flexible ERP that can be updated and scaled simply 鈥 is at the centre of our strategy.

And it鈥檚 a concept that鈥檚 also at the heart of the future strategic direction for all of our customers.

Takuya Sakai, CIO of , embodies that more than most. His company has used 麻豆原创 ERP globally for more than 20 years, over which time the system became more and more complex.

鈥淭hat complexity incurred significant maintenance costs, prevented the company from quickly introducing new innovation, and ultimately hindered its growth,鈥 said Sakai-san. 鈥淚t was very critical to reduce the complexity.鈥

Using 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform (BTP), Hitachi HiTech was able to easily upgrade 麻豆原创 S/4HANA systems in the public and private cloud 鈥 at the same time reducing the number of add-ons and customisations in the software down from 9,000 to just 800.

鈥淯sing 麻豆原创 BTP we can build smart, global digital processes without touching the 麻豆原创 S/4HANA core. 麻豆原创 BTP is a very, very important tool to accelerate our business processes,鈥 concluded Sakai-san.

What鈥檚 next: AI for business, not AI for AI鈥檚 sake

It鈥檚 easy to get carried away by hype and excitement, especially around innovation like generative AI.

But what I saw at 麻豆原创 TechEd was even more exciting 鈥 new innovations, here today, that are already making a tangible difference to real business problems.

The key is in the context 鈥 using your AI to connect data, not just collect it. By generating reliable, responsible insights that understand the context of the business processes that surround them, Business AI will help boost productivity, efficiency, and real outcomes.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa 麻豆原创 Africa has concluded its latest Hack2Build Africa partner event, with consulting firm Bayajula Services emerging as the overall winner.

The Hack2Build Africa event was held in May and saw eight partner teams from South Africa and West Africa spend seven days building compelling solution prototypes using 麻豆原创 Build, a low-code app development and automation platform. A team of 麻豆原创 solution architects and product management experts provided technical support to ensure the success of the partner solutions.

麻豆原创 Africa Chief Operating Officer Tracy Bolton says: “Innovation lies at the heart of everything we do at 麻豆原创. It is only through collaboration with our valued partner ecosystem that we can revitalise and revolutionise the way we support the digital transformation aspirations of organisations across the continent.”

Winning innovation enhances procurement planning

Bayajula Services’ winning concept is a cloud-based automated procurement planning solution that enables organisations to plan and manage their procurement spend, allowing integration with strategic sourcing and operational procurement systems. The solution is built on the 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform using 麻豆原创 Build.

鈥淲e are thrilled to be recognised by 麻豆原创 as the leading solution in the recent Hack2Build Event and look forward to adding transparency across critical procurement processes in Africa,鈥 says Busisiwe Sibanyoni, Executive Director at Bayajula.

Runners-up included EPI-USE Africa for its case management tool, and EY Nigeria for a business partner authentication solution.

Tshepo Mahloko, Head of 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab: Africa at 麻豆原创, notes the potential of low-code solutions to accelerate innovation. “Low-code solutions such as 麻豆原创 Build provide easy, intuitive ways of developing new applications without the need for extensive coding proficiency. This can accelerate time-to-value, enhance ROI, reduce total cost of development through the rapid development of minimum viable products, and unify development experiences for application and process innovation.”

Partners leverage Build for innovation

A previous Hack2Build event held in February saw 20 partner organisations from 11 countries in EMEA South participate in a two-day Demo Jam to build solution prototypes using 麻豆原创 Build.

The winner of this event was Merlynn, who developed a prototype Digital Fraud Review Panel which aims to prevent payment fraud within procurement and payment systems. Merlynn’s Decisioning Digital Twin Technology enables organisations to deploy a digital team of fraud experts within their 麻豆原创 payment system to enhance existing controls.

The Digital Fraud Review Panel acts as a second set of eyes that monitors payment activity in real-time, identifies potential fraud and stops the payment before money flows out of the organisation, all integrated into 麻豆原创 via API. Merlynn鈥檚 Digital Fraud review panel solution is now listed on the 麻豆原创 Store.

Mahloko says the Hack2Build events serve as a powerful platform for African partner organisations to showcase their capabilities, harness the potential of the 麻豆原创 Business Technology Platform, and drive innovation throughout the region. “The 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab will continue to work in close collaboration with our valued partners to support the development of their solutions and take their innovations to market.”

The 麻豆原创 Co-Innovation Lab is hosting a Hack2Build event for African partner organisations in Q4 of 2023 and will provide an opportunity for partners to turn their innovative solution ideas into real customer solutions. For more information, please visit

麻豆原创, one of the world鈥檚 leading producers of software for the management of business processes, has unveiled a new low-code platform called 麻豆原创 Build, announced at its TechEd 2022 conference recently in Las Vegas.

The event ran concurrently with the company鈥檚 business innovation days for media in San Francisco.

Low code platforms provide business users with little to no technical knowledge the ability to build apps to supplement their enterprise solutions.

麻豆原创 customers can build an app, an automated process or a website using a drag-and-drop function without coding knowledge. This allows system integration without moving data to an external system.

Julia White, the chief marketing and solutions officer at 麻豆原创, says every company is now a technology company. 鈥淭here鈥檚 not a single industry, a single discipline that doesn鈥檛 have technology at its core. As a result of this, the competition for professional developers is intense. Every industry is competing for this finite talent.鈥

The next wave of transformation is going to be powered by people who create business value such as the finance analyst, supply chain operator, procurement specialist and marketers, says White. 鈥淎nd today, their expertise is untapped by the companies that need to drive digital transformation forward.鈥

麻豆原创 Build will provide the tools to remove unhelpful repetitive tasks, says White, so processes can be automated to be more efficient and users can innovate in areas that have unmet needs.

鈥淏y doing this, we address that shortage of professional developers to unlock digital experiences, and we tap into the expertise of those business users.鈥

Juergen Mueller, the chief technology officer at 麻豆原创, says clients who put the low-code build product to test have achieved a 30% faster time to market because development time was reduced.

鈥淚f you can use Excel or PowerPoint, you can use 麻豆原创 Build. It鈥檚 all about collaboration and invitation between business users and IT working together.

鈥溌槎乖 build connects previously disconnected solutions through a unified development environment. The back-end requires a little technical knowledge but we created a common project repository so you can have one project using all of these capabilities.鈥

Mueller adds that the 麻豆原创 business technology platform can connect to 麻豆原创 and non-麻豆原创 systems, and it has more than 1听300 ready to use automated workflows and use-case specific workflows.

麻豆原创 Build is a visual experience, with a new visual cloud functionality that lets users create in a simple way, says Mueller. 鈥淵ou don鈥檛 need to know anything about databases, coding, security or networks.鈥

According to the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC)鈥檚 research VP of software development, Arnal Dayaratna, the demand for contemporary digital solutions is greater than the ability of professional developers to supply them thus business professionals will become increasingly involved in initiatives to create digital solutions to solve pressing business problems.

鈥淲orldwide, IDC expects more than 100听million business professionals will become involved in the production of digital solutions over the next 10 years. 麻豆原创 Build鈥檚 low-code development solutions empower business users to harness their domain expertise to rapidly build and iterate on digital solutions at scale.鈥

Low-code development is not new, but these visual tools help businesses optimise their software development processes at speed. Similar services exist through Microsoft Power Apps, Google AppSheet, Salesforce Lightning, Zoho Creator, OutSystems, and Quickbase. According to听, the global low-code platform market revenue was valued at $19bn in 2021 and is forecast to reach $69bn in 2026.

Technology research and consulting firm Garter says 80% of technology products and services will be built by professionals outside of IT by 2024. It predicts that low-code development will account for more than 65% of app development by the end of 2024.

VP of research at Gartner,Rajesh Kandaswamy says, 鈥淒igital business is treated as a team sport by CEOs and no longer the sole domain of the IT department. Growth in digital data, low-code development tools and artificial intelligence assisted development are among the many factors that enable the democratisation of technology development beyond IT professionals.鈥

Upskill 2 million by 2025

Max Wessel, the chief learning officer at 麻豆原创 says, 鈥淵ou can鈥檛 change business if you don鈥檛 change the systems underneath that process.鈥

鈥淭he pandemic accelerated our shift to a digital economy; coming back into a hybrid world, we are changing business processes again, and all of that requires us to think about how we drive innovation quickly, flexibly.鈥

The only way to solve the talent gap is to increase the number of people who are getting scaled up, and that is where we need to step in,鈥 says Wessel, who recognises that science, technology, engineering and maths jobs have historically been inaccessible to underrepresented minorities.

麻豆原创 has pledged to upskill two million people worldwide by 2025. The initiative will include tripling the free learning offering through the 麻豆原创 Learning听听and a partnership with online platform Coursera.

The new free entry-level professional certification on听听is called the 麻豆原创 Technology Consultant Professional Certificate that requires no prerequisites, minimising the barrier to entry.

The company will also offer free role-based learning resources to women and other underrepresented groups in the tech sector through relevant training and certification. The self-paced courses will let participants develop skills for roles like developers, data analysts, and technology consultants.
